are they CLEANCUT YOUNG TWINKS now?
-
it sounds like a decent merry rip-off to me, the closer to the end the merrier and that was the only thing I remotely liked on this album I'm still puzzled how in the hell do they manage to keep paying fans.

steampunk-kei yassss qtest vk monocle in years

dnw, unless they accidentally top mushi with new stuff

smh am I the only person who'd like them to teddylloyd the hell out of this sound and add wubs in two thirds of album tracks? this is better than typical current sadie, but every song sounds so dull, there's legit no repeat value in any of those tracks posted mao's vocals also sound s f flat all the time, he's like a growling yomi of dir en grey ripoff scene

they look cute

voted for kisou bc. it has the highest fav songs number on a single deg album for me, although it could be vulgar because of amazing singles and promotional videos during that era. WTD comes very close to vulgar as well. I almost stopped caring for gauze, macabre and the latest 3 albums, but still have high hopes for the coming one ~

tefu tefu [2] massive eye-rolling over that tracklist tbh, but I like how much stuff they've recorded for the album gazetto nü shinguru UNSLAM THE capslock

I'll refer to my comment from the previous page. and this one just for the sake of stressing I'm not comparing their sound, but kyo did influence their direction with this release imo. I'd be happy to back off on my comments if the final mini turns out a vk genre re-definer of 2014 and exceeds all the expectations (p. modest in my case)
-
precisely. I don't consider their music anything significant, even though I like it at times, and I looooove dismissal generalizations.

that's how I perceive 9GBO and w/e followed - which might be innacurate. idk their entire discography since leaving undercode sounds like an incoherent and unsuccessful attempt to find a scene to fit in, and this, essentially, sounds like they're acknowledging that sukekiyo is successful without having a hurrdurrcore focused sound, and are trying to snatch a share of kyo's weave. @Hellion you won't argue that dir en grey/kyo are influential enough to shape the way lesser vk bands sound with every major release, would u? every time Deg does anything remotely fresh (for this scene), pops out almost immediately, or mucc/gazette/12012 suddenly realize they want to sound heavy again12012 had about ten full years to come back to old school vk, yet they are doing it now. needless to say, I'm curious reg. their future direction - I don't like this stuff, but I'm not necessarily hating on it, lol.
-
there's no direct comparison to kyo's project - I mean, 9GBO did the slowtempo nonsense no one cared about for years, but kyo sort of legitimized this niche in vk, and 12012 rushed into same direction immediately (I can't recall them putting as much emphasis on the slow stuff in any given release before this)

inb4 7 3 track singles + one coin live dist.

oh god this sounds like sukekiyo gave every other vk artist an artistic permission to abuse nowhere going slow flowing compositions ngl only dig track 2 so far
