I'm being as objective as a person can be. I understand that people don't like my favorite bands and expect other to understand that I might not love their favorite bands. But I think it's a lot different to "not like" and to "hate". I'm discreet enough to not insult Deg in front of a Deg fan even though I don't like them. I'm not saying they haven't accomplished anything just because I don't like them. You're not annoying me because you don't like Kameleo or FUTURISM BOYZ, you're annoying me because, like Peace said, you're talking in a dismissive way. I seriously don't give a fuck of what band you're doing that to. In case you haven't noticed, through the whole thread I've stood up for the whole Visual Kei as a genre, even though I don't even listen to like one percentage of it. I'd stand up for Gazette, which I dislike almost as much as Deg, if someone said they haven't done anything remarkable, because I know they have, even though I might not like it. So from this on, if you still have something to say about my cuteness, please do that by PM'ing me. This topic is no place for it.

^ And I don't like Deg, to they're cute but seriously. End of discussion.
  3. The Bread Wolf

I find that incredibly offensive. How'd you feel if I came to you and said: "Deg's cute but seriously..." And Kameleo has hit an incredible success in Japan, and in a really short time. To be honest, there are not many bands who'd actually have much of an effect in their income when it comes to western sales. So... they COULD be the next great thing. You're just not seeing it yet.

^ Four is more than none. Even if there's only 4 new VK bands that are good it still means you can't say "none of the new VK is unique", because obviously, some are. And I'm pretty sure other people on this forum can come up with their favorites that they think are unique.
  5. The Bread Wolf

Now now, I know you like old school VK but seriously, this is just wrong. Saying you don't like something and saying everything sounds the same are completely different things. I mean, for example, I'd claim that no band before has sounded exactly like Kameleo, which is my favorite band atm. Also, well, I listen to FUTURISM BOYZ which is a good example of a band that mostly sounds like any other band in the whole world, except for one thing - their singer. I can seriously play Arc or FUTURISM BOYZ to anyone and they can confirm they've heard nothing like KO-JI before. They don't usually like him, but they DO admit his voice is different from everyone else. Also, Kiryu. There are not too many Neo japanesque bands aside from Kaggra, and OROCHI, and to be honest Kiryu sounds nothing like them. They have more... horror-ish feeling in their songs. So a third example. And I'm not even a large scale consumer of VK - I've just picked the best ones. Tl;dr: I do not agree with your point. There certainly are unique bands in new VK wave. It's a different thing if you like them or not. You don't need to like them for them to be different.

Some of those bands weren't even on the list at all... so is this now a 'throw random favorite bands you'd like to see in your country' thread?
  7. The Bread Wolf

So you think no one who's listened to Rolling Stones in their youth listens to it anymore? I might have to disagree with you. There certainly are teens who only listen to mainstream music, playing only the latest hits. But then again there are teens who'll listen to metal or rock through their whole life, even the same bands. So why not visual kei?

Hello Shun, long time no see. I'm glad he's doing SOMETHING. I assume he was starting to feel cabin feverish and thus joined (as a support member) into a band. Good, good, I might give this band a listen since I really liked hurts back when it was active and well, because of Shun.

I really like the single name, gives off the kinda... rhythmic heavy rock with disco beat kind of feeling. Though, I had the same good feeling with Fear Dance before Namida-kHz- was released, and it turned out to be false hope. So this might turn out to be just another disappointment.
  10. I've finally learned that being kind and considerate gets you nowhere. From this on, I'll be mean and bitchy. At least then I'll know why I don't have any friends.

People are often hurtful both purposely and by accident - so you have to have tough skin to live in this world. Never let your heart grow cold, though. If you do, you'll only fall victim to the madness and perpetuate it even further.

^ Saying you don't like any oshare vocalist is like saying you don't like any chocolate without trying the good ones. That's generalizing. Have you listened to ALL oshare bands? Because that's the only way you're qualified to dislike them all.

^ Maybe it's as simple as he being to lazy to change it?

I wonder if Toshiya (BB) will be present.
  14. Why, whenever someone gets offended by people insulting their favorite band, someone says they're just butthurt and should just accept the fact that some people don't like the same bands as you do, but when someone even slightly critizises Dir en grey, people go mad and start shouting: "YOU IGNORANT FUCK YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MUSIC YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS YOU SHOULD KILL YOURSELF."

I belittle it because I've studied English for over a decade and I'm still not fluent at it. I mean, sure, I get understood and all, but to seem natural I have to look up a lot of words, mainly synonyms. Also, for the longest time I thought kindergarten was written with d and not t, like kindergarden, and it made total sense to me. :'D

I think you need to know something about music to be able to criticize it. No, you don't need to be a professional, nor a musician, but you need to have an idea about what makes music generally good and what makes it generally bad. Like, for example, there was this girl writing a music review blog. One of her favorite bands was, indeed, Gazette. She introduced the band and whereas our opinions about the band differed a lot, I could explain it by saying that Gazette just haven't clicked with me. BUT! When she introduced Kai, she used the sentence: "I think Kai is an excellent drummer because he's so perky and can follow the beat." At that point I realized she knows nothing about music and should not be writing a music review blog. Seriously? CAN FOLLOW THE BEAT? Is that your qualification for an excellent drummer?! Fuck me in the asshole jesus christ almighty.

And yet they were UCP's probably most famous band.

Saying VK is dead just because your favorite bands are not around anymore is like saying rock is dead because The Beatles disbanded.
  20. Every time I read online about someone's complains about how their life sucks for petty reasons I wanna tell them to shut the fuck up, write a fake-artistic poem about it and go die in the corner.

Vidoll. I mean, a lot of my favorite bands have disbanded, like Kalvary and Arc... but seriously, why would I miss them when the new bands they have contain exactly the same members? And Dali, well, whereas I'm kinda sad to see them go, they kinda called for it. Their music and the way of releasing it was going downhill way before they disbanded. But Vidoll is a sad case. It's way better than the new bands any of the members have, and one of the members even refuses to join another band again.

I wish I could add my multiple personalities as votes for Kameleo.

Suits him well to be honest. Now he can have the whole stage for himself and his dramatic gestures without the fear of hitting a bandmate in the process.
  24. Watch FUTURISM・BOYZ become the new Dali with infinite live-limited-one-coin-one-song single releases and an inevitable disbandment. I hope my prediction doesn't come true, but I'm just pissed off because I love these guys and SOMEONE DECIDED I CAN'T OWN ONE OF THEIR RELEASES. I hate that someone.

I know I already posted about my older dog, Sir Evan, who's the most gentle-hearted lad in the whole world. But now I can tell you about my new pet, which I got about a month ago. My lady bassist: No, really, her name is Basisti (a Finnish word for a bassist). She's a pure breed Welsh corgi pembroke with the breeder name Zilber Wasserfal "Afina". And yes, she's got a tail, even though some of you (*cough cough*) think that corgis only have little stubbs naturally, or no tail at all. Actually, her tail is really bushy and kinda fox-like, with a little white end in it like if it had been dipped to a can of white paint. So yes, I got this little beauty a month ago. I've been quite depressed lately, and really antisocial, and I thought having a dog of my own would help. I mean, I do have my older lad, but he's mostly my dad's dog, being that he follows him everywhere. I wanted a dog who thinks I'm above everything else. But since I've got a job and sometimes 8 or 9 hour work days, I couldn't get a small puppy, since they need to be fed 3 or 4 times a day. And I precisely wanted a corgi. I was prepared to wait for an eternity while scrobling through a "pets sold/given to good homes" adds. Then this one add got my attention. It was for a 6-months-old, sable corgi girl. For a day I consulted my best friend whether I should call the owner and ask about the dog. I mean... she was perfect for me! A red and white corgi and not too old but old enough to be alone for few hours. After my friend said "go for it" the next day, I called the owner. I managed to get a meeting with him for the next day. The pup was quite expensive, 1000€ ($1300) and I had planned to reserve her for a cost of 300€, since the owner said there were other people coming to see her. So I went there, panicking a lot, and once I arrived and stepped out of the car, I was immediately greeted by a fuzzy ball of joy. I couldn't keep my hands away from her! Even when I was inside and talking with the owner and drinking tea, I constantly interrupted him and myself by playing with the pup and praising her. At the end of the meeting I said to the dog: "I wish I could take you with me right now". The owner responded by saying that I should. I didn't have the full price of the dog with me there and I stuttered to tell him that. He said it isn't a problem since there was a cash withdrawal machine a couple of miles away and I could easily drive there. So I did, and withdrew enough money to take her with me. When I asked the owner about the other people coming to see the dog, he just said he was gonna cancel their arrival and tell them the dog is gone, since to him I seemed like a perfect owner for the dog. He even told me about a couple who had come to see her but didn't pay any attention to her, which affected greatly on his choice of not giving the pup to them. And ever since I've had the most amazing dog in the world. And this is a true story. Anyways, about Basisti. She's brilliant. I mean really. She's a really fast learner and it usually takes about fifteen minutes to teach her anything. Any trick there is. After a month she knows how to sit, lie down, give a paw, go to sleep, wait for her food, leave something alone and, of course, the most important thing: her new name. She was previously called Dennis, but I always wanted a dog to call a bassist, so... yeah. She's a tough little gal. Likes to play with dogs twice her size and she probably thinks she's bigger than she actually is. But she totally wrestles with them and isn't a wuzz at all. She also barks a lot. At everything. People, animals, shadows, crows, sticks, noises... I'm alright with that. I don't mind my dog barking. I feel secure when I know there's someone informing me about weird dudes entering my house. But, I want my dog to know when to stop, so I'm on my way to teach her the command "silence". When I say it, she must stop barking. She's kinda sound-allert and a bit of a scaredy cat. Like... sudden noises make her jumpy. The other day I accidentally threw one of her toys at a paper bag and the sound coming out of that made her fear paper bags. I had to make her eat on a paper bag to assure her paper bags won't harm her. :'D Now I think she's afraid of the shower because I forced her in there. But hey, she needs to be washed from time to time! Even though she's a bit of a difficult case, I wouldn't trade her for anything. She's the apple of my eye and the love of my life <3 I mean seriously, look at that adorable little face <3
