I saw this earlier on vkdb. This is just so random. lol Se'ikspia, of all bands? I remember liking some of their stuff back in the day. Curious to hear how they'll sound like now.

oh man, Sugar's SWEETEST is such a fantastic album. screw More, reform please
-
I couldn't agree more! It's just that I'm not too familiar with their sound. The androp reference came from the guitars in this song in particular. androp most of the time goes the super-produced and loud route, white this is chill and not so tryhard, which is good.
-
Sounds like a watered-down version of androp. Not a bad thing though, I like it!

Didn't DADA just announce their disbandment or whatever like a few months ago? JFC

Yay for ハルカトミユキ! That and LIFE were two of my favorite releases last year. I was disappointed they didn't make MH's lists. There are some things here that have caught my eye, so I'll definitely try and sample some of them. I didn't even know Chouchou had a new album too, will also check that one out!

Where's DarkWater to say he/she won't share this album because it's not as good as their previous one? Kinda weird to release a live album after almost a year since the actual concert. Would like to hear this, but I doubt it'll ever pop up online. lol

I'm sorry, but what the hell is even going on here? Honestly, as long as a band doesn't say they no longer identify with the visual kei scene, like DIR EN GREY and L'Arc~en~Ciel did - if you start out in the scene and still keeps your roots in it, you are a VK band. Even GACKT every once in a while says he's a VK artist. I wish people would keep this in their minds more often. There's not an oshare-kei scene. Zeus said it perfectly - visual kei is a big umbrella that holds several different kinds of music and, for the most part, looks. AN CAFE, for example, started out in the scene, grew in popularity by playing in events with other VK bands and appearing in every kind of media directed to fans of the scene, were part of a VK label for years, etc. One of the cool things about VK for me was always the fact that there's always tons of different kinds of bands who, despite being completely different from each other, still play together for the same audience - the VK audience. Example: that huge visual kei festival (V-ROCK FESTIVAL) that took place years ago. Just check the list of artists who played there. tl;dr, it's not a matter of opinion, it's all VK.

...that's a music video? alright then the song is great. I really should start paying more attention to these guys.

^ Nah, Zepp livehouses (at least the Tokyo one) are not that big. For me, they've always served as a transition for up-and-coming bands from the smaller concert halls (O-WEST, O-EAST, BLITZ, Kokaido, from 500 to 2000 capacity. RIP Shibuya AX) to the bigger ones (Nakano SUN PLAZA, Tokyo Dome City Hall, Tokyo International Forum Hall A, etc, from 3000 to 5000 capacity), like "oh we're maybe finally big enough to venture into bigger venues". For Osaka, it's probably MUSE > BIG CAT > Namba Hatch > Zepp. all useless information but hey

oh my god, this Carly Rae Jepsen album really is good

I almost forgot - besides art-kei almost coming to an end, you know what was disappointing? having both Itsue and Uchuu Conbini break up this year. that was a big blow. me-al art also going on hiatus (not like they release much anyway)
