I've been reading some of my VK books that I have in my collection when I have free time. The Malice Mizer interview book 異端審問 (Itanjinmon or Inquisition) is fun to pick up for a few minutes and read. So far, I had fun reading about Yu~ki's "Hermit lifestyle", and how Mana-sama loves reading fan mail (yes, he does read as much of it as possible!)

Well, as Whang said, we don't know for sure if this is the true story because he has no evidence. I personally believe it on the grounds that audio shitposting like that is pretty common. Mislabelled Napster files even more so! Even though I'm from a different generation, I've done stuff like that myself back when I was the same age the guy was when he made it (will not link lmao). It's a very plausible explanation but is it too plausible? Hmm, we might never know. Also, it was fun to see MH and some Monochromians make a cameo in the vid! Like I mentioned earlier, I wonder if Whang lurks around here sometimes...

B R U H MH should start having DIMLIM Twitter speedruns

Hmm, I wonder if Whang lurks these forums and will see us talking about his new vid 🤔
  7. I've been thinking about this topic for a while, and it especially pertains to Japanese music as this CD format is primarily used in Japanese releases (in both western and Japanese music). SMH-CDs (Super High Material) are produced by JVCKenwood, who you probably know as the parent company of the Victor Entertainment record label. In fact, some Visual Kei artists you might know who are under the Victor label have their releases available in SMH format (such as BUCK-TICK). SHM's close counterpart is known as the SACD (Super Audio), made by Phillips. SMH-CD formats are manufactured differently (basically, they are made of a more transparent material which allows the laser to read it easier but even more detailed info can be found here) and are said to improve the audio quality on the CD. I'd also like to add that like all Japanese CDs, they are at a premium in comparison to their non-SHM western issues (if they have one, that is), so I'm also theorising that this could be another domestic purchase incentive akin to Japanese bonus tracks. I've been thinking of buying this format but SMH-CDs are controversial because there is no real evidence that they outperform regular CDs, though many collectors swear that they can hear the difference. Do you have any SMH-CDs and what do think about them? Can you hear a difference or do you think this is just as SHaM-CD format?

I find it very entertaining that Kyo and I have the same height but he's a ripped short king so he could probably punch the head right off my shoulders. A lot of the Kusomen seem like crafty fighters so I dunno if I wanna risk losing a limb or smth just to try and teach 'em a lesson. I will however take on Keiosu from GLAMSCURE, I bet I could break his tooth pick arms in half, punch that smug look right off his face, tackle his spleen into smithereens, and get a lil' revenge for Kyouka. Also, I'd wanna fight Gackt's ratcheted ass but he's so plastic that if you cut him, he doesn't bleed, his skin just parts like a wax dummy. I think you have to throw him into a fire pit or leave him out in the hot sun in order to win.

Trap instrumentals: They give me flashbacks. Also, I can’t stand them anymore, I always tune out of what the rapper is saying and listen to the looped 5 note instrumental that repeats over and over and over and over and over and---- I think it explains the allure of VK for me in the first place, I can focus on the instrumentals more than the lyrics (at first) Stupid and or basic lyrics: In my whip that I just crashed, look at all this cash cash cash, bitches sitting on my lap, finna go and get this rack-- Engrish rapping: ‘Nuff said. I–V–vi–IV: Not this shit again. EDM drops: I can’t believe I was all young and impressionable during the time when this was all the rage in popular western music. Well, guess what society? I fuckin’ hate it now. Improper metering: Probably my biggest pet peeve, hands down. I'm specifically referring to when the singer is off beat with the actual instrumental in my case. Two examples I can give for bad meter are the chorus for Taylor Swift's Bad Blood and the intro verses in ADAPTER.'s 僕と君の幸せ For Taylor, the end of every sentence is like one beat too long, it sounds really off when you pay attention. Especially because the last sentence is the only one that stays on the beat while the other ones aren't. In Fuku-san's case, the verses are just... Like listen to them, I love the man but his singing doesn't even begin to match the rhythm of the instrumental at all. He's too fast, he needs to slow way down.

I--Fucking Hell man, going to lives at the BLACKHOLE, CYBER, EDGE, etc. for the first time were all on my personal Visual Kei pilgrimage that I was planning after I finished my degree... I'm kind of heartbroken. At least the others are still there... Haha...

You're welcome! If you're referring to comments as in comments under thread posts (like this one I just made here), then that's right! If you mean comments as in profile status posts or comments you make on your own status/others', then they do not count towards your post count. This is slightly unrelated, but posts made in club spaces also count towards your post count. Ah, and shoutbox ones do not. I think that's about everything.
  18. Total Saikou

It's not point numbers based, it's post numbers based. I have seen some users who have like 330 posts with only the hot people rank and some with 360 with RRH rank, so my educated guess is that the amount you need is 350 posts.

What an Xtra title 🙄 Okay, I'll see myself out

Whoa, that is so left field, I can barely process it... 23 years with MUCC, though! SATOち has been in that band longer than like 90% of marriages. He's been an integral part of the MUCC experience and I'm sad to see him go. But I hope he stays happy and healthy though, the bandoman should always come before the bando. As the Japanese would say, お疲れ様でしたSATOちさん!

I don't get that elitist feeling on here at all, not when I first joined, not when I was browsing this site just for news a few years back, and not now. The VK fandom in general has a steep learning curve but unless you're a very sidelines casual trying to make false/unresearched comments in here then no one's gonna call you out or anything. And of course you will see people who dislike your favourite band, even legends like Malice Mizer and Dir en Grey have their detractors lmao. Being able to agree to disagree with people on subjective things such as music taste is an important life skill. With the rise of social media like Twitter that can create these echo chambers/circle jerks, a lot of sad, sad people go berserk at the sight of someone dissing their favourite band *cough Kpop Stans cough*. As long as you can defend your positive opinion about a band in a polite manner then almost all the members on here will hear you out or agree to disagree themselves, I can guarantee that. I do that in threads myself. Unless the Reddit OP (deleted user, that's a good sign) is talking about the joke posts or the forum jokers on here, in which case I can only say that OP is being disingenuous by pretending to his feewy-weewies hurt by that one user who called his Honmei "The Kenny G of Visual Kei" or whatever There's people who've been on this site since TW. There's people who have been VK fans since I was learning long division in elementary on here. And guess what? They have been nothing but kind to me so far. I went on another music forum (for western music) and my intro thread was mostly people grilling me about their fav bands who I never heard of and people making fun of me. Go onto any intro thread here and you won't find that at all. I would know because I try my best to welcome new users there myself. This place is great, and I don't agree with anyone who says otherwise.
  22. Whoa, I just realised that Visual Ioner was officially shut down last month, I can't believe it. That blog's been a great source of news for me for like... Years. It feels like an end of era in a way.

Okay, I can see that happening in general. I personally can't bring Nocturnal Bloodlust to mind without Hiro's washboard abs and chiselled pecs so I couldn't imagine anyone making that mistake
  24. Total Saikou

Bitches be like "I know my worth" and then get played by guys who look like this
  25. Total Saikou

You really didn't have to roast Hiro like that, Goddamn 💀
