  1. Just remembered that three of the members of JILUKA go by Ricko, Boogie and Zyean (pronounced "Jane", I believe, but I thought it was "zye-EEN" for the longest time). Ricko, I can sort of get past. Boogie is just strange. Zyean…? Just... why? They're a good band and all, but why those names!? Sena's the only one with a normal name!

    After another fan mistreatment scandal, Issei will leave Nazare. The remaining musicians will stick together, the songwriting will improve drastically and they will become the next big thing.

    I hope so. One of the reasons I couldn't get that into Nazare was because of Issei. Most of the songwriting's terrible anyways, but nothing puts me off a band more than when there are dickheads in the line-up.

  3. Soooo, for no reason whatsoever, I decided to start a thread about some sweets I'm gonna be getting twice a month. I'm getting them from this website, in case you were interested: www.candyjapan.com/

    Also, the box art is the cutest thing ever. ba8TzCO.jpg

    Alright, so, let's see what's inside! By the way, I can't read Japanese very well so I have no idea what these are or what they'll taste like until I open them.

    Spoiler

    1. mb7Hg34.jpg

    They're... interesting. Not sweet at all, but savoury and quite salty, so definitely not what I expected. Either way, they were good, although my friend says they taste funny after you have too many and that they have an aftertaste. I give them a 7/10 and my friend gives them an 8/10.

    2. BBBInB1.jpg

    So, as is evident from the packaging, they're grape-flavoured. They have a very strong scent that hits you as soon as you unwrap them, and they taste pretty strong too. My friend says "it tastes kinda like nail varnish. Like... it tastes the way nail varnish smells. I mean, it's not unpleasant", if that's anything to go by. I mean... I sorta get what she means? Ish? I dunno. My only real qualm about them is that they're stuck to a very sticky sheet that's really difficult to remove. Anyways, I give them an 8/10 and my friend gives them a 5/10.

    3. QPen44T.jpg

    They taste... weird. Like barbecued sweet potatoes. My friend says it tastes like if you put honey on a roast potato skin. Like the first thing we tried, she said they taste kinda weird if you eat loads of them. I give them a 5/10 and my friend gives them a 6/10, so I let her keep them instead of us sharing. She says they're not even that nice but they're addictive, so she wants them.

    Last but hopefully not least, 4: OyaOf18.jpg

    They look very... interesting. It's a Meiji product, and I've had their little panda bear chocolate biscuits before at a convention. They were really nice, and so were these, surprisingly. I say surprisingly because they look a bit like crayons and I'm told by my friend that they're green tea-flavoured, or something similar (I don't like tea in any way, shape or form). They have kind of a bitter aftertaste that bothers me slightly, but they're still good. My friend and I both give them an 8/10.

    Alrighty, so, I have no idea why I just reviewed all that, but it was fun. I'll probably do it next time they arrive, which should be in two weeks. Who knows, though? It might be earlier. Considering that these sweets arrived today when they were supposed to get here on the 14th, it wouldn't surprise me.

  4. I love this band. Also, I like how they actually managed to get a girl who looks like she has some life in her eyes for their videos, instead of that same sad-looking girl who's in every PV (you all know what I mean).

    Still not over Mel's weird marketing techniques, though. I know I said in the interests section of my profile that I like visual kei ass, but not like that. Never like that.

  5. * Chobi and Satoshi (ex-DIV) will finally realise that, no matter how talented they are, all the DIV fans care much more about what Chisa and Shogo are doing and give up entirely

    * Moran will come back for, like, a day... or maybe they'll say they will, but then they won't

    * The esteemed SHiSHi will take off, but only after lowering their astronomical prices (2500 yen for your 0th mini-album, are you kidding me? And 7800 yen for a hoodie!? That's about £52! 😲)

    * Everyone ex-MEJIBRAY will fade away into nothingness bar Meto, who makes a pleasantly surprising comeback

    * Kaya will continue being wonderful

    * DIAURA will come to England (onegai?)

  6. Okay, I actually love this band already. If the rest of their stuff sounds as good as Mr Moonlight, I'll be happy. Also, Mayoi looks kinda like Shogo from ACME. Anyways, I hope he's alright and that they're able to contact him soon.

    This is Deviloof's fault for making people think this is okay

    Dude on the far right of their promo-pic looks like Bea Arthur dressed as Gackt

    I'm tardy to the party but this made me laugh way too loudly

  8. Band 1:

    Vocals: Juri (DELUHI)

    Guitar: Leda (DELUHI)… guess I'm carrying on the trend

    Bass: Masashi (Versailles)

    Drums: Soan (Moran)

    Band 2:

    Vocals: Yo-ka (DIAURA)

    Guitar: Sizna (Moran)

    Bass: Hisaki (Cocklobin), he's underrated

    Drums: Sujk (DELUHI)

    Those bands aren't based on how compatible the members would be with each other in terms of musical talent. Rather, they're based on who I think is the most talented at their respective roles (so band 1 has the most talented and band 2 has the second-most talented). Personally, I think that'd make them pretty interesting to listen to. I also wonder what the bands would be called?

    • 手鞠 ressurects art-kei with a new band; Hitomi might give up on ウミユリ and form a full-time band as well

    I'd like to predict that Moran should just come back already, but somehow, I think this sounds more realistic. Then again, it looks like DELUHI might come back, so who knows? Either way, if art-kei gets resurrected by anyone who was in Moran, I'll be happy.

    Back on topic, I remember one of the members of HOLYCLOCK was in a band called Hi-Speed Death Banana.

    That is a terrible band name. I love it.

    Which reminds me, LiN from UNiTE used to be in a band called LeMpicka? (including that question mark). It doesn't sound all that stupid when you say it out loud, but I just don't understand this trend of weird capitalisation/punctuation. Then again, this is LiN from UNiTE we're talking about. They're a great band and all, but their song titles are just word salad and LiN is... weird. But he's a funny weird. I like him.

    But anyways. You know how Zero from Lycaon/Initial'L used to be known as Rito? Well, before that, he was in a band (the name of which slips my mind) in which his name was Richard. IIRC, the other band members had stupid names as well.

  11. I'm in love. Also, looks like one of my 2019 predictions is starting to come true already! I predicted that a band would form that tried to mix oshare kei/brutal kei; not only that, but they'd be good. With the growls, I can sort of imagine them going in a sliiiightly brutal kei direction; not enough to overpower the oshare elements... but who knows? Anyways, I stan. I knew I would the moment I laid eyes on the style icon that is Ohana.

    The crazy nonsensical ones are my favorites. I find them really funny. My idea of terrible band names are the really common/boring/hard to search names.

    But since nonsense is what we're going for, how has no one mentioned Crazy☆shampoo yet?

    I mentioned them. Never listened to them, but with a name like that, I doubt they're anything special. Then again, who knows?

    Any band name that makes it deliberately hard to search for them.

    Obscure would be a good example of this. They're the band Lay and 4ge formed after Fatima disbanded with singer/guitarist Nobara, and the only way I could find any trace of their music was by Googling "obscure nobara". To top it all off, Lay and 4ge changed their stage names to Cake and Zizimakia respectively.

    Other shitty band names:

    * BUNNEIES

    * 0801弐209336

    * Crazy★Shampoo

    * Un=(XAG)

    I found those all on a list a while back, as well as some others that have already been mentioned.

    cocklobin, man! It might be cute to say it while in Japan. Even publicly. But not so much when you're in English speaking country. For the sheer misunderstamding it might cause. "Hey, what are you listening to?", "cocklobin, man!", "heyyy! there's minor here!"  😂😂😂

    These guys are also on that list I found. They disbanded a while back, but they honestly weren't that bad. Not the best, but they had some pretty good songs. I would recommend Daphnis, Grisaille and Cock. Yes, Cock.

    Also, who could forget Bump Of Chicken? They were originally gonna be called Cowards Strike Back, but it got mistranslated as Bump Of Chicken. I mean... I guess I get it? A coward can be described as chicken, and if you strike something, you may bump it...

    ETA: Also, do you guys remember Dirty Darkling

    -Kamijo will also be back to Europe probably with Versailles?

    God, I hope so. I'm still not over how I missed seeing him in London this year because I fell out with the person I was gonna go with. -_-

  15. ACME are starting to rival DIV. They're not quite there yet, but it's only a matter of time. I hope they come to England in the future.

    Also, I love the dog in this video. Reminds me of the DIV song Pieces, which seems like a really sweet (yet basic) love ballad at first, but then in the last verse, it's revealed that he's singing about his dog. That made me squee a little when I first heard it.
