Kaya has unveiled a new project, "Road to 15th Anniversary" to celebrate his upcoming 15th anniversary as a solo singer - which will be commemorated in 2 years.
 
To commemorate the start of this project, a crowdfunding campaign has been made for the production of his new cover album, "DRESS" (presumably to be released in June 2019), which is a culmination of his past covers done at his CafeNOIR lives. Those who contribute are also able to request songs to be put on the album and will receive unique awards based on the amount of their contribution (up to 100,000 yen). The crowdfunding campaign will begin on December 13, and will end on February 28.

I hope whenever you see them from here on out, even after the album run is over that they play TIW from start to finish.

I’ve been lurking this forum since the new release and reading this I felt the need to join the discussion  
 
But you do sound rude and are assuming that your opinion is the correct one. And liking the album is the “wrong” opinion. 
 
Speaking as a fan since 10+ years and I lived in Japan for around 3 years to be able to go to their concerts.  I think that this is one of their best albums.
 
My point being that opinions differ even among longtime fans. However I feel sorry for those of you who can’t enjoy the album because of the mastering etc. 
But I’m quite sick of the whole “I don’t like the band’s new stuff so I’m a true fan” bullshit. 
 

I feel comfortable in saying this is some of the band’s best work. Questionable production aside, the songwriting is tight and focused aside from the two weird flubs from Toshiya. To be fair, the main problem with Devote My Life is that fucking main siren riff being too damn loud, but I love that breakdown with Toshiya rumbling away. 
 
Other than that, this is the first DEG album in a long time that I can listen to from beginning to end without feeling drained halfway thru. There really isn’t any filler, and they sound super confident in these songs. They’re short in length, but not in content.

I don't like to post my opinion too much, but just to balance out all the negative reviews here... I like this one.  I've been a fan for a long time, but not a die-hard.  I didn't pay attention to them for many years and have only just come back.  I bought Arche and DSS at the same time and thought they were both awful at first.  Listening to Arche more, I started to like it.  No matter how much I tried, I just can't listen to DSS.  But I've had this new album on repeat since it arrived (late, thanks to Amazon being stupid). 
I always feel like people who complain too much are just looking for things to complain about.   If the album had a new sound, they complain that it's too different.  If it sticks to the old formula, they complain it's too boring.   For me, I dont care too much about lyrics or sound quality (which most people can't pick up on anyway) or if Shinya's drumming has gotten better (!).  Do the songs grab me?  Are there parts that catch my ear and stay there long after the CD player is turned off?  And, personally, the more Kyo shouts, the better! 
Well, just wanted to put my 2 cents out there, so anybody who hasn't bought it yet won't be discouraged by the negative reviews.  My review is:

Been listening the shit out of the album for the last couples of days, and it just gets better and better. I have no problem with the placement of songs now, and I accept 'Ningen...' and 'Utafumi' now. My only problem would be 'Values of Madness': I still don't like how it is placed after 'Aka'. The rest of it has finally clicked with me.
 
Also got past the production after finding the right EQ and listening device, as Saishu said. I just hope someone rips CD 1 and 2 in good quality, because I can't get enough of 'The Deeper Vileness' remake and it's only on YouTube. Seriously: I'm really happy with what they did to the song. I would love a complete re-recording of 'The Marrow of a Bone'.
 
Going back to 'The Insulated Wolrld'', I honestly think it's a good album with some standout moments (especially the second half), but they could have done better. It still feels rushed and 'simple', though this was something the band was after. Hope we don't have to wait four more years for another album!

I actually really like this album. I'm not a very big fan of dir en grey overall (out of their previous albums I've only listened to uroboros, arche and withering to death I think, they were ok but not really that outstanding to me) but this one's pretty good.

As a single mother (divorced), I can understand what it was like for this woman.  I've made questionable decisions because of loneliness and such, but if any guy had ever even looked at my child the wrong way, they'd never find his body...   Looking at those photos was heartbreaking.  In every single photo that poor girl looks terrified.    There are always alot of rumors in VK, with the majority being made up by jealous bangya,  but this woman seems to have alot of proof.  Enough to go to the police, at least.  
My ex was a minor bandman in Osaka and he never really liked me going to Undercode events (I tried not to, but there was one band I liked).  On the rare occasion he played an Undercode event, he did his set, then hid in the band van until it was time to go home!   But this news is a million times worse than anything I've heard about before.  I hope he burns.

Can we all just take a moment to realize that KISAKI was the main face behind many of the bands he was involved in. KamiUta from Phantasmagoria literally depicts him as God. If all this is true and KISAKI really is the scum of the Earth then I don’t know about you but it makes me uncomfortable listening to or watching some of his material. It gives me serious narcissistic/sociopathic psycho vibes if all true.

This is where I draw the line, though. I've never felt this way before with any artist scandal and shrugged off his tax evasion nonsense. I'm not going to turn a blind eye to scum if these allegations prove true. As much as I liked some of his music. Also, it's 4 discs total y'all, lets not assume I'm about to throw out his entire discography or something.

I'm not some kind of moral elitist thinking everyone who doesn't is stupid. It's just a decision I'm making in regards to what I want represented in my collection.

I’m hoping that due to Kisaki being “known to police”, that might make them more likely to believe his accuser.
 
I’m encouraged that bands seem to be distancing themselves from him, and have been for a while. I get that due to cultural reasons, explicitly calling him out might have been seen as crass. It’s a step in the right direction.
