there're numerous reasons VK acts won't get signed and distributed through major western labels, and they are slowly catching up with the streaming trend, but this scene never relied on an equation of 1 fan purchasing 1 CD per release,

ironically starwave produces the cheapest, shittiest, most derivative music/looks in the scene as of now, and I want to see the receipts that bands themselves get the coin from itunes purchases.

Because they are slightly better than the average musicians, their live performances were honestly interesting, their compositions had somewhat of a signature... there are several reasons, including the one that they didn't suck as much as people want to imply. It's nice to make fun of what teenagers enjoy, specially when you've been around for 10+ years and have seen all kinds of trends going up and down, but that's just us old people being old. And that doesn't take away the fact that meji was a solid band all around...

I think the new Taion and Kare Uta are the only good things about Traces Vol. 2

It's gotten a negative response because it comes across as little more than a quick cash grab from the band and/or the record label. The fact that they didn't even bring someone in to help mix the album tells me little care was put into it, and it's why the mix sounds so lifeless and muddled. Half of those songs didn't even need to be re-recorded. Shiroi Yuutsu? Pledge? Untitled? Why?

Visual kei is resurrected

The Hazuki pic doesn't look like an undercut, it looks like he has some hair on the back. That is currently the hair style I am aiming for as well. I had an undercut for like a year but decided to grow some hair in the back cuz I wanted some better volume when I have my hair down but still look good when tied up.
 
If I were to describe it to a stylist, I would tell them to get me a mohawk but let the upper part if my hair to grow out.

I went to go try to find more concrete pics since that one was somewhat vague, and I was about to agree with you but then I found this,
where I can see the shave on the nape peek out. It's difficult to tell on people with thicker hair how much is removed, it was the same on me despite shaving 80% of the back of my head I looked like I had a full head of hair.
I found an old pic, but if I had it grown out 4-5 more inches it would look the same as his. (My part was just on the opposite side)
But I think it's best to just bring some reference photos for the stylist of multiple angles, that's all I ask people to show me when I cut their hair.
 

Hazuki definitely doesn't have the undercut, it would show at lives when he moves around and headbangs no matter how much hair product he uses 😉

And I’m afraid to cut it myself, I think I might go to a barber
