I already knew the setlist and since it was one of three songs that were covered, and the only one with a different vocalist than Kyo, it had to be this song. I just needed some last confirmation. So, thank you

I don't see any other X song sounding like that. Even with hide's screams it does seem like SMITB, the part that starts around 1:07 I think is the one in your snippet even tho it's lacking Toshi's vocals. 

I can't imagine why it would feel comfortable to play Utafumi live. I've yet to see a satisfying performance of that song, lol.

They handle Utafumi live better than a majority of the DSS material. 

I lied about the Fool's Mate #202 not having any DEG in it.  It just wasn't listed in the magazine's index page.  It's just a 2-page live article.

I have 2 Fool's Mates from 1998, Issue #198 and #202.  Issue #198 is the only one that has DEG in it.

hmm, in 2017, I have deleted a lot of bands I've had scrobbled over the past years. I think that messed up the stats a lot, because my actual record year was 2012 with 14,258 scrobbles.
It's a new record for DIR EN GREY, though. The previous year, I had 5,675 scrobbles.
Also, lol@MC. It comes from the tereko, I don't even have Blitz 5Days in my last.fm catalogue because it always scrobbles as Blitz 5 Days... -.-

Edit: Okay maybe new Fukai isn't that good. There are lots of weird random noises all over the song, I think? And it could've used some more power. Hmmmm... I wonder how the other songs sound...

I don't really listen to other Japanese bands, I didn't even know who ToshI was when sukekiyo collaborated with him, lol.
But I enjoy listening to MtH, lynch. and coldrain every now and then. The rest is boring and same-sounding.
And yes, I'm aware that DEG is somewhat like the poster-band of jrock, and I do hate the "aaahh kawaii kyo-sama tocchi-chaaaan" idiots as much as anyone.
