I definitely don't see BFMV as punk, wtf? I think many of the metalcore bands are closer to metal than punk anyday. Maybe if you wanted to simplify their genre definition, I'd just say they're rock or something.

For me technical instrumentals + heavy music = metal

but then again, I don't really care about genres.. so who am I to say?

My rule is: If it's visual, and has something to do with the VisualKei scene, then it goes in VisualKei section.
But, even then, the lines are blurred, because there are self proclaimed Vkei bands that aren't Visual at all, and there are bands that are quite Visual and have some influence on or from the Vkei scene, but reject the label.
So normally I just look at who their associated with and what people call them. The only exception I have is Ningen Isu because if they weren't playing Ozzfest and playing with American metal giants, they'd probably be preforming alongside Vkei bands because of how influential they have been to many important Vkei bands.

Personally, I'd put Vamquet in General, because the only site I know of proclaiming them as VisualKei is VisualKei wiki, and I think that's only because of Kozi. Other than that, they don't seem to be associated with Vkei in any way

@reminiscing2004 I know right? I only use them as a convenient way to group similar bands, but in the end, it all boils down to Rock and Roll.

The major problem is for many asian countries (Japan, China, Korea, Philippinnes,Vietnam, Hong-Kong,Singapore etc...) they associated that with weakness, guilt, and shame.
For them say to their familly or friends they suffer of mental "ailments" they will "lose their face" infront of them and in asian societies when you 'lose your face" you lose your social standing, reputation, influence, dignity, and honor, so for "save their face" they prefer keep that for them.
I hope one day they will change their point of view about that.

The only japanese autism musician who I know is the composer Hikari Ōe, and yes mental "ailments" is still  a taboo in Japan , only few musicians talk about this subject like Ryo the singer of Baroque and Kannivalism who suffered of adjustment disorder.
He had written  his autobiography Utsu-byo Rocker (Depressed Rocker),  in his book Ryo describes his grueling struggle with the illness in five chapters each called 'Mental Breakdown', 'Adjustment Disorder', 'Life in Hospital', 'Return to Society' and 'Life and Death'.
You also have Fukase the singer of the jrock band Sekai no Owari he was interned in specialized institute for treat his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

I'm interested too. I wonder if Kiyoharu has autism, because the Kuroyume song Autism does kind of describe the feeling. I should know because I have aspergers' myself.

So so far, yes, there is metric ass ton of post production on Yuko's vocals on the EP. It's actually insulting to her vocal skills. That amount of reverb and post processing honestly isn't needed, and kind of drowns out her voice.
Again, f*ck Avex. They always manage to mistreat their artists in many ways, and this is just one. I think Yuko knows she's too skilled for this, but she probably doesn't have a say in the production of her own music

Yeah they're on their sometimes. The site is incredibly ambiguous about what is metal. Dir en grey still is for some fucking reason, but Kyo from deg is dafuq?

i reviewed it a few months ago and i wasn't a fan of it but that was more the boring composition than yuko's voice. since im' deaf to this stuff i'd be interested to know what ur ears hear.

so then how did you feel about the processing of her vocals on CRADLE OF ETERNITY? processing on yuko's vocals is something i never paid too much attention to. i love the way she sounds in wagakki band and the way she sounds in hanafugetsu, but now that you mention it i kinda sorta hear it.

@Spectralion Oh yeah, they were. They were signed to Eternal, which was owned by Yayoi, guitarist of La'Miss Fairy, and formerly of Mirage. In turn, Eternal was a sublabel of Matina.
Eternal also had Deadly Sanctuary, which had both Yayoi and Yuuga (who would go on to form Devil Kitty and we all know who signed to Rockstar Records (Also owned by Yayoi) when they came back), and Etcetera, which was the old band of Yukika, who now owns Ains, and was the first guy to sign R-Shitei and Alsdead.
So, they had some pretty important people on there xD
