I was actually surprised, these guys didn't have a dedicated topic. As I've seen, people here have been generally lukewarm towards them, but they have definitely redeemed themselves with their full album. Compared to the mismatched mess of both good and horrible ideas, they released previously, with the album, they have finally found their sound and the re-recorded songs now have a much better tone and feel. I'm excited for their next release.

And there's already shellmy,tensai and R-shitei doing stuff like that.i pass

My favorite release will ever be 真っ暗、真っ黒、真っ赤々な朝.
This is the true アヲイ spirit for me.
 
I love a lot the way they took year by year.
But this heavy and slow instrumental, the otogi deep debut voice. 
This is what made me love them.
 
My favorite track is 恋愛写真.
 
I love ZACRO a lot, this is the year (2009) when アヲイ really start their change, also with the maxi インソムニア.
To let you know, ララバイ was a old track from 子守唄 from end of 2007. But I have no idea if it sound like the release one, or if it was more a demo version.
 
I love a lot the mini ア・カペラ, probably more than 終わりのメロディ.
calling is one of those track from them that I have now probably too much listened because I think it was overated (like the abelcain maxi).
 
I took the most pleasure to listen to their new release, with NARAKA & 連鎖.
連鎖 is phenomenal.
 
I don't find that Siva is so bad, the refrain 1m30 is pretty awesome, but it similare to 罠 because the rest is pretty trashy.
 
For me their last release ブラックホール was a pretty good-bye from them.
 
I'm hoping for a * year anniversary, which I would go absolutely also.

Looks as if BLOOM is really taking hits. 
First, XII-Destructive Agent of Jap just goes silent as far as I know, 
DiSPiNA decide to make a non-Bloom related side project that honestly got better promotion
and now Vrzel, the most popular band on the label, is disbanding. 

he was awesome in the studio before starwave but slacked a lot in lives and their recent recordings
i dont think there's anyone in their tier thats all that much better tho

I honestly promote sharing toward rare releases. Otherwise its your decision at the end day to care about sharing or not and also to buy or not/support the official band. Also concerts are a thing too as much as people pray for world tours.
Personally i wanna buy as much stuff as i can of one thing before it becomes rare of course when i get the money. This kinda leads off topic to economic stuffs which is kinda a bore. Besides that Ive been in situations where ive known about a band for a while but never really took the time to invest then it became rare [Examples: OZ, Dio distraught overlord etc..] It feels more right in owning a release.
 
Overall my opinion wait for a release you don't want it rushed to have it end up being crap at the end and support the band as much as you can when you can.

While it's nothing ground-breaking, it's miles better than their 1st album (...damn, that shit was bad), and I have some hope in them, now, after this and their last release.

Start from the beginning and work your way forward. It's a time investment but it's interesting to follow the bands evolution and as a new listener you have a chance to do it much faster than the rest of us could. 

This is how I would describe all their albums. I figure you can start with what sounds appealing to you and make your way around. My personal favs are Macabre, Vulgar, and Arche.

Gauze - Classic 80's/90's jrock with a bit of bite, a nice mix of pop songs and heavy metal
Macabre - An evolution of Gauze with more experimentation
Kisou - Crunchier, heavier, and more industrial than the previous two
Vulgar - An evolution of Kisou, heavier, more industrial and refined. Still retains a fun upbeat atmosphere. Strong Western rock influence.
Withering to Death - A stripped down form of Vulgar with less industrial sounds. Even stronger Western influences and a darker more vicious listening experience.
Marrow of the Bone - Raw, violent, unrefined and dark. Very depressing and hopeless atmosphere.
Uroboros - A change in direction. Injects strong oriental and spiritual vibes into their sound. The album is a journey.
Dum Spiro Spero - It's like an exaggeration of Uroboros. Takes the sounds from previous album and intensifies everything. More spiritual vibes, heavier, more contemporary/avantegarde song writing.
Arche - A return to form. You can hear a bit of all their past work mixed in with their current sound. Overall, a softer more tame listening experience.
 

my first DIR song was Hotarubi. I fell in love with it but never bothered to look for anything else from them.
Then i randomly saw that Child Prey PV. 
 
That's when i decided to look for them on MySpace. This was at the time when Ryoujoku no Ame was released.
Decided to buy one of their live dvds and got what i think it's their worst live dvd ever It Withers and Withers.
 
I decided to give them another change and bought the 5 Ugly Kingdom dvd and then i was hooked. Still my favorite dvd.

Correct. No one person can just sit there and compare these two singers because both are different as whole in there techniques and vocals.

If you are to compare the two singers that would imply that your comparing two bands that have honestly different releases and different instrumental intentions per release even if it was intended or not. Also it really isn't a big deal even if sadie/mao are fans of dir en grey. Its not a crime.

Considering that each of their albums sounds differently, there's no real starting point. I'd listen to VESTIGE OF SCRATCHES front to back, first. It's their recent best-of album. Just be careful, the last song on each CD (three total) is a remade version, so they kinda don't count.

Perhaps this great conversation about Sadie and Mao's style can go to an artist discussion page instead of cluttering up the updates for the album?

The reason why that album was Stellar was because of the fact that it was pretty original. Sure it had DEG influence but it still had its own Sadie sound at the end of the day. Madrigal De Maria is where the copying was hella blatant. Its legit a dollar tree version of Uroboros.
