well as a useless baka gaijin I guess I'd better quit listening to vk and following vk bands and buying vk bands' CDs and merch and just giving a shit about vk at all then, if I can't go to lives ever, even though this is 2017 we're living in and everything gets consumed internationally these days through this magical invention called the Internet

I woke up this morning and saw some ameblo notifications in my inbox, and I remembered that the tour final was last night, so I was like, okay, we have a new single and some preview or something. Single (with a $100 limited version because WHY NOT), two albums, and a 108-stop tour? Time to start pawning off my organs I guess. (For real though, am I the only one concerned that Yukika is going to work these guys to death?)

Well, to sound like a broken record - I'm not at all surprised; and they needed this. That's not to say I'm happy, necessarily. Mejibray were a big part of why I got heavily invested in vk again after a few years of mostly apathy, so they'll always be important to me for that. And my interest in their later releases seems to have lasted longer than most people's, since I personally liked Venoms.app and the singles leading up to it, although they started losing me after that. In any case, I hope the guys find projects they can actually enjoy. Mejibray's music was sounding rather bland at this point, and there's no point in staying together if there's no inspiration for it.

Well that's unfortunate. So much for Elysion.

Utopia *w*

The Likea release isn't so bad, but the live-distributed at the oneman... beh. I hope they at least succeed in pulling a good crowd for it.

I got my copy of Virge's Utopia today. Mixed by, mastering engineer, jacket design, photographer, and hair make are all the same people as Mediena's Gothic Cult. But there's no management or producer listed, so that's all I can tell you; I've no idea if they're actually attached to Yukika in some way. I'll keep an eye on future releases and see if anything changes.

I love it! I'm so happy with how this release sounds. It's all I wanted out of a Mediena/Malisend revival. T_T

Same... I never really understood the Mia hate either... As for the PV, Nanaki isn't one of my favorite songs (although if we have to be real, 90% of what Mejibray have released in the past year or whatever has been really boring for me), but the video is surprisingly nice. I want to see what they do after this, and I hope it's something interesting, because I miss caring about them.

RYO IS BACK. I'm so happy right now... this sounds great. If you don't like the vocalist, find something else to listen to. Some people actually enjoyed Ryo's vocals and are happy to see this.

Huh, well, from the previews, I'm also more excited for the A-side than the B-sides, which is odd for me because I tend to prefer their B-sides in general. Either way, still looking forward to more Kiryuu.

Well in general the songs sound nice (and I'm thrilled about that War of the Dead Paradise re-recording!), but seconding all the complaints about the mixing...

So what are everyone's thoughts on the new single? I've only listened through it once so far but none of the tracks really left an impression on me (well, 3 kinda did, but mostly just because it's so ???). Who knows, maybe it'll end up like Liar and grow on me with time. I'm a little worried that promotion and budget seemed so low for this release. I hope it's not a bad omen of what's to come for the band.
