JamesR got a reaction from merchenticneurosis in 90's vk inspired music trend in the scene
I really like the revival scene - same goes for all the 'nu metal revival' bands like Damy, Dezert, Kuroyuri and Piglow In Gloomy. Hell, I even think there's some overlap between the two sounds...

JamesR got a reaction from helcchi in Matenrou Opera: Hibiki Shiraishi Becomes New Session Drummer
Kinda reminds me of 'Dr. Mikannibal', Sigh's vocalist/saxophonist... Always confused the hell out of me until I realized it was Dr. as in pd,D...

JamesR reacted to chemicalpictures in "Inspiration" - where does music find it?
I always thought ZON's Jellyfish was a hell of a song, really creative, until @JamesRpointed out how it was such a blatant copy of THE ORAL CIGARETTES's DIP-BAP:
I find it so funny how ZON had the balls to do such a rip-off in such a short time, like a few months after DIP-BAP release. I still love both songs, but If this isn't the proof that nobody cares about VK in japan, I don't know what is.

JamesR got a reaction from togz in Crystal Lake to perform in Italy
They might be the best currently active metalcore band - they sound like Architects + Parkway Drive on crack!

JamesR got a reaction from Wakarimashita in The Official Brutal Kei Thread
It looks like the "Nu-Metal Apocalypse Revival" is in full swing on the VK scene... I mean, how many nu-metal VK bands rose to prominence in the last 5-6 years? DEZERT, Kuroyuri To Kage, DAMY, Piglow in Gloomy, Mamireta, Bless This Mess, Savage, even NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST adopted some pretty strong influences. Funny thing is those bands' material is better than most of the drivel shoveled out by Western bands like Coal Chamber and some other third-string acts...
Anyways, enough off-topic! imo D.I.D. are the kings of brutal kei: Agressive but technical riffs, some of the harshest vocals in the scene and killer bass lines and drums

JamesR reacted to chemicalpictures in New Swiss Visual-Kei band "Aikoe" was formed! --> have disbanded & new band "∆UR∆L C∅M∆" has formed
It's easy to make fun (which was my first thought, I'll admit), instead it would be nice if we could all make some constructive criticisms to help the gals, since they'll probably check the thread...
- I don't care about visuals, but people in general do, and you are all looking nice. Hair, clothing, makeup... maybe work on your poses, and improve the photoshop (the group photo is much worse than the individual ones, probably too much light on your faces)
- The main point: the recording of your song is PRETTY bad. I know youtube usually drags it down and you probably don't have that much of a budget, but you can DEFINITELY record a song or two in a proper studio with a couple hundred bucks. Yes it's an investment, but it makes the world of a difference. That chorus could be catchy if properly recorded and equalized, the drum lines specially. It's such a niche market that usually don't care about western bands, so you really have to go the distance to win this crowd.
- It's a matter of personal preference, but I find your logo way too confusing, really hard to identify the band's name. Branding is important, I would try to express that differently.
wish you girls luck!
