I don't remember ever doing an introduction here but since I don't expect to be remembered well at all after a lengthy disappearance, I decided now was as fine a time as any. I suppose this is a "I'm back!" announcement too but that seems arrogant. U-um...

I'm SUBLIMINAL. Known to friends as Lorena. I joined the forums when I was a newborn baby and I'm twenty-seven now so thanks for raising me well, Monochrome Heaven-senpai.
 
I mean if anyone remembers me, it would probably be because I never shut up about D'espairsRay. I don't really do that anymore omg. I don't listen to visual kei at all anymore, actually, but I have a big, squishy soft spot for old favourites and still keep up with them. Mostly. Aside from once upon a time being the most annoying D'espairsRay fan to ever live, I love(d?) Plastic Tree equally but that wasn't as noticable. These days I still tend to prefer pop, folk and as usual bizarro metal music.
 
Anyway, I had a habit of vanishing every so often due to real life drama even when I was active here but my last disappearance was the longest, I think. It was very necessary though! I learned a lot about myself and grew as a person. I live in Scotland now, instead of England, with my SO and I'm happier and more active than ever! I wanted to check and come back here because well... to put it pathetically plainly, this was the only forum in my internet lifetime that I ever felt comfortable and welcomed at. It was once one of my regular haunts online and I miss that, so... hello, whoever reads this. Hello. Again.

My name is Julien and i'm 27 years old. I'm from Holland and I work in the music industry as a manager (have been for about 8 years now).
I'm really new to the Visual Kei scene, I've been working with Visual Metal band for a while now and they introduced me to it. I've been trying to learn more about the scene ever since. I stumbled on Monochrome Heaven while looking for places to learn and to sometimes post updates on related issues to the band. 

However, I didn't just want to come here to post updates I'd like to learn more and be more involved in the scene. So i'm happy to be here if everyone else doesn't mind =). 

I'm stuck wanting to be 10 different kinds of people and I hate myself because I'm none of them.

That super covered, super recent scandal between indigo la end/Gesu no Kiwami Otome's vocalist and TV personality/singer Becky, their affair. It even being talked about for months, from a British newspaper (the guardian) doing an article about it (granted about Japan's sexism) to April Fools day jokes (arama) on it. I remember earlier on how it was the only thing being reported in some places. Wonder if its died down yet.

Honorable mentions goes to:
(so many...) awoi, first, because their songs are always amazing with totally awesome lyrics, but on paper, it looks quite repetitive and probably doesn't look all that effective unless you listen while reading along xD I'm going to say D'espaires Ray and DELUHI are another two I'll just mention because like awoi, I don't think their lyrics looks all that impressive in text but super effective when reading while listening. Versailles have SO MANY segments I'd love to include too. ;; I was so close to including Utada Hikaru too because she is more than deserving of her song writing praise.

Perhaps this might be a thread better suited to the Jrock fans that have been around for a while, but I figured this could be a bit fun...
 
Back when I was first getting in to Japanese music (i.e. downloading), high quality album art scans weren't the most plentiful things in the world. Often the cover art I would have would be 200px x 200px, if not smaller...or maybe even just a crop from a poorly taken digital photo. Thinks have come a long way from then, and now it's far less a problem. But I have had the fun experience of now getting to look at new covers in new light lol. I figured it would be fun to share the albums that we were confused by that we finally understood upon seeing a higher res scan (or heaven forbid having actually seen the cover in person).

hello everyone! this is so weird, posting in a forum after years - did that way too often as a teenager XD it just feels like way too long since i've connected with people who like jrock. the gazette is my fav. i do like alice nine and nightmare as well. and i miss kagrra, terribly ;_;
 
was active on livejournal for years but then lj / batsu became dead and everyone moved onto fb/ig......... had to look around for a while before i found mh. hopefully fandom is here to stay for a long time <3
