Certified J-rockers who are fanboys

Recommended Posts

I am gonna bet that Morrie from Dead End seems to dig Pete Burns as well (same as above sans stage antics and not-so-glammy appearances)

I don't doubt that for a second, lol.

ryuuto of ex clearveil is now showing his (until recently well hidden) inner plastic tree & ryutaro fanboy. there's that new band of him (well, consisting only of him and juliette's yumeru as a support although I believe he already left ryuuto alone (I know I would) as far as I know). it's called -The MelT-

there are a few small releases. well it's quite obvious he's kinda addicted to the song "Melt" by Plastic tree, not only because of the band name, but because the beginning of "gatsu ei" is such a ripoff of Pura's Melt's theme that it's ridiculous. Style is perfectly copied too. (http://ameblo.jp/ryuto-amamiya/)

and yes, he now goes by the name "Amamiya Ryuto" which is, at least to me so obviously "Arimura Ryutaro"

Still love the silly boy, even though his singing and recording quality just so hopefully strive be found somewhere in between CRAPPY songs to cure people from rare indies bands obsession thread

Dir en grey's Toshiya is a huge Deftones fan - Chi Cheng fan, to be exact

He even emulated Chi's way of playing bass at some point during MOAB-Uroboros days (FVT 2006 + other Deftones-related gigs (?) had a huge effect on DEG by the way, and that is already noticeable in MOAB)

In addition to that, Dir en grey - Toshiya more specifically, supported "One Love for Chi" with some funds + other stuff

+

Such Toshiya's songs as "Shitataru Mourou" have sometimes Deftones-ish parts scattered around (Drum intro/drumline in Shitataru Mourou is basically a tribute to "Digital Bath") - total stans might disagree though.

Also:

Take a look at Feast of Five Senses-dvd performances and try to name at least one obvious influence in Toshiya's way of dressing/playing bass  (hint: it's too easy to guess...and my comments have a main clue to that one)

you can post your favorite j-rockers pics together with his idol or fan in a magazine or in an ordinary picture taken by a company or their cellphone, a video covering a song of their idol, their favorite CDs/DVDs etc of their idol, if you like. you can also add a story between your favorite j-rocker and his/her idol/fan. i think its better to have graphics or something to prove them to be certified j-rockers being fanboys. if you run out of ideas, you can search your favorite's idol or fan in ja.wikipedia.org or some article in a magazine that you can find their scans at livejournal or some cover pics in a japanese online store.

+this message is also now included in the very first post of mine of this thread.

2012-03-11: DEAD END NEW ALBUM

I’ve heard it many times on repeat.

The second revival,

part immersion and part aggression.

In younger generations, now future generations,

the beginning of everything in this scene,

individually and naturally, aggressively and simply,

pressed on the shoulders, and like restoring the sound from a whirlpool.

2012 is a good year to hear it.

You’ll feel it was amazing.

Yes, however it’s possible

relationships are everything

In recent years, the scene has shifted in Japan

A success story is slim for those

who think music is far from our bodies,

and that everything is wicked and self-interest.

Think again,

you are owner of it,

like drops of DNA.

“Don’t lose the way”

It’s likely to be rectified in silence or sensation.

- Kiyoharu, ameba (translated)

I don't know if this is allowed here or you D'ERLANGER fans are aware of this tiny piece of news, but what the hell.

like a week ago on a BUCK-TICK FEST during D'ERLANGER set, CIPHER announced that they had a special guest on the stage and welcomed DIR EN GREY guitarist Die. Die happens to be a big fan of D'ERLANGER whom he calls his all-time favorite band. he played a solo for LA VIE EN ROSE and then played a whole song, ICONOCLASM.

source quote and pic: Wicked Teletubby of Monochrome Heaven

you can find more of BUCK-TICK fans that are musicians who performed in BUCK-TICK latest tribute album in Imai Hisashi's blog

Lycaon's guitarist Satoshi is a motherfucking super hardcore fan of Slash.

First there's a picture of Satoshi and Slash:

They both love and use exlusively Gibson's Les Paul guitars...

Slash also loves Jack Daniels, but the question is: how much does Satoshi love Jack Daniels?

Answer: He love's it to the point when he wears it, drinks it and even has a Jack Daniels phone case!

Kisaki is a pretty big Kamijo fanboy regardless of the fact they've been best friends for ±15 (?) years already.

He can't shut up about him, pretty much.

I can't believe no one has brought up Gara from Merry.

He's a huge fanboy of Dir en Grey, specifically Kyo. (And he's also a huge fan of Kiyoharu too)

  • He started off as a Diru roadie, and Kyo basically became his "senpai", giving him advice when he became a musician and basically forming a bond with him.
  • Merry covered Diru's song Schwein no Isu for the album, Crush! -90's V-Rock Best Hit Cover Songs-.
  • Gara appeared as guest vocals for one of Kyo's solo songs, I think it's Sukaporutoruno 'Kiyomizudera Porno Type'.
  • Kyo produces Merry under his label Firewall Div.
  • Gara and Kyo posed together in one issue of Massive.
