They remind me of old Lycaon, with the metalish sound mixed with rock and the vocals.  As a twist they also do old school visual kei music or mix it in. They are currently my #2 band. Their drummer and guitarist left so thats why their is only 3 in the pic. Also eve (ex. Lycaon) is working with them currently.

the new single id was weird for me, thought it was going to be badass, still love it. but as my #2 i was disappointed(might go away).  I feel bad for the people who say karma sucks cause they a missing out. cant wait for the new single and album. i will say this the gap between them and my #1 is growing.

Recently checked these guys out, quite okay stuff. I steered clear from them before because somehow the vocals were just not clicking with me at all, but I gave them another chance and now I can tolerate them. Anyway, the music is nice enough in itself so that helps.  They don't really remind me of older Lycaon style, feels kinda like their own thang.

 

Kinda looking forward to their first album too, eventhough it won't have that many new songs I see.

yeah id showed how different they are, but i still hear similarities. album has 8 new tracks if you count the cover.

Agreeing on your first post, after listening to ID I finally came to like them

They do have some small similarities with Lycaon, especially the vocals. After their last single release they starting to grew on me and made me check out their previous releases.

 

Pretty good band to keep an eye on~ ♪

I really don't like the new lycaon but the old lycaon was amazing... I'm very sad! but the new lycaon had some good songs like in the 薔薇 single,

and i like 覚醒 from the last album!

Did anyone who also got the limited edition dare to open the booklet? : O I really want to know what's inside but it looks so good with the red thread wrapped around it that I just couldn't bring myself to do it. D ;

 

And since I'm new on this thread:

I think that AvelCain is one of the best bands currently active on the scene and they keep impressing me with each release. Their atmosphere is exactly the right kind of dark and romantic without being cheesy or depressive and especially the vocals are just fantastic.

The only thing that's missing for me is maybe a second guitarist because the guitarwork tends to be a bit repetitive, although it has it's charms, too. Their rawness remind me of chelsea, puppet mammy (duh) and generelly nagoya bands from around the time I started to get into vk, so the sound is very nostalgic.

Their live shows are great, too and on top of that they wear Alice Auaa and look so good in it. D ; I hope they last for some time.

Unpopular opinion coming up.

I actually really liked them at the beginning, been playing the 蛇と姑獲鳥 single on repeat. I liked their style, looks, the whole concept and thought that Karma's voice was really interesting.

And then they did the thing, or I don't know, he did the thing where he started to sound like Yuuki from Lycaon. His singing style changed completely and I don't get why. I don't think it fits their style and I can't listen to it anymore. Nothing against Yuuki or Karma, but this kind of voice makes my ears bleed is really not my cup of tea, I can't even listen to it for a minute.

Showing it to a few friends, they agreed. One of them even asked if that's new stuff from Lycaon.

Well they're signed to the same label and Lycaon seem to sell well so maybe they were forced to do that. I personally think it doesn't suit them, their whole image. AvelCain should stay AvelCain, not become Lycaon with clothes on.

 

But.

Glad to see people still like them, because they have a lot of potential, but they lost me there.

Because the new lycaon doesn't sound anything like avelcain's style right now, new lycaon has sex appeal, sexy theme, while avelcain has ominous, dark themes 

By the way so many people have listened to the new avelcain album...um can anyone share it in 320kbps or more preferably lossless format

I must admit I don't listen to Lycaon at all. I heard a few old songs, I heard a few new songs. I'm not talking about their general style of music or themes, but mostly about Karma's way of singing that sounds like Yuuki's. And I find it obnoxious, sadly.

I liked them too from the beginning with arrow of the light which he sounded like yuuki. Its not as deep as he was 蛇と姑獲鳥. still i think karma was always singing in the way yuuki' s does cause it still had that feel to it. also they are friends in life too, but idk iff that has anything to do with it. and i like his soft side too i think it wouldn't fit with that single but the others yeah it works.

I thought that too at first but if you really listen there is a clear difference. Lycaon was more uniqe while avelcain is more basic. plus avelcain has this old school thing going on. Lycaon had that solid sound in their metal(i dont know how to describe it) avelcain not so much. also since some avelcain's songs are not that hard you could compare them with Lycaon now since they have their harder moments.

 

and karma is no where as good as yuuki harsh or clean. smh this has become a compare thred
