Because it's my personal preference. I'm not saying I won't listen to an album that's only 35 minutes but I myself prefer something at least twice as long.
-
I'd prefer if an artist release an album that all the disc space is used up. Please no 35 minute "full length" albums.

Trying to keep it short and simple here. Most people who I consider mere acquaintances probably do not know I listen to Japanese music. People I consider friends and close friends all know, and I've gotten a handfull of them into Japanese music to the point where they seek it out on their own. I've never really had anyone be a dick to me about my tastes in music, besides my best friend's older brother who when we were younger was a real musical snob (considers Led Zepplin/Pink Floyd the end all of music) and he was a downright asshole to us about it. However as the years have gone on, even he listens to a bit of Japanese music now himself. (Stuff like Yoshida brothers etc.). I don't hide my musical tastes from those I consider a friend, but I don't tell those I consider associates anything about my musical taste (or much else about me really).

Revolution's Invoke from their of course was the L'arc discovery of Ready Steady Go and then on to Dir en Grey, The gazzette etc etc
Socially no one every cared about VK at least from where I was. Anyone who did was Japanese/Korean and have been familiar with the music their whole lives already. I honestly blame the lack of products and publicity. I remember how difficult it was to buy merchandise. Yes we had Tofu Records but their availability was limited. No one wants to spends $30+ on a cd. I still don't.
Batsu was a cancerous horrible place, but it was a bastion of visual kei.

In general I think the VK-bands could've promoted themselves better as well (like K-pop bands) but I guess in the end VK is an underground-scene and therefore won't attract as much fans as the K-pop scene eitherway. A lot of the "vk fans" were also just in it for "cute japanese boyz" and I guess they figured cute korean boys works just as well.
I'm still in it for the "cute japanese boyz" hahaha.

Well, I got into VK in like 99. I'd say the 09 boom was definitely a high point because you could find almost anything on a multitude of sites though granted the quality wasn't as good as it is today. (128bitrate all over). It was a fun ride, and the ride keeps going. WE are here and we like visual kei. As long as the core group remains it shall never die in America. It's our job to bring it to those who are interested, and that doesn't just go for visual kei but Japanese music in general. Even otonomai/yorukaze/younmai is gone now, besides shitty blogs holding the last remnants of years gone by, this is the core site.

It sounds 100% Sigh, but again they're doing something new and fresh which is really cool. The opening shredding on Kaedit Nos Pestis kinda sets the whole tone for the album, and while there's often something a bit off about the shredding, it sounds pretty fucking cool I'll admit. I hear elements from Hail Horror Hail, Gallows Gallery and Imaginary Sonicscape, but nothing sounds recycled in any way which makes it fresh. The whole album is a nice mix of hard-listening and ridiculously catchy songs, and it's something that works well, just as it did on In Somniphobia and Imaginary Sonicscape as well.
Love album once again from these crazy japanese guys and a girl.
I know this post is quite old, but I'm glad to see that you came to enjoy the album more. Something about is just really raw and primal and I enjoy just about every song off the album. I'll admit Oshima is no Shinichi but he's a damn good pick for the band, I got an instant hardon when I found out it was him. I couldn't see them picking anyone else honestly. Now I can't for their next album, and let's hope they do another full round!

When you like music as a whole from all across the world but it's 'Japanese music', 'Korean music' 'Swedish music' etc. to your friends. Why bother trying?

Post any Japanese music video in this thread. I don't think this has actually been done as most of General focuses on specific genres of Japanese music. Post anything and everything you like, nothing is limited! Discover some cool shit and show others your jams! ENJOY^^

Haha I completely agree that he shouldn't have been messing with underage girls. I'm not superstitious but I think it's so ironic that a band called The Black Cats would have short lived run and disband in such a shitty way
-
These are the kind of things that happen when you join/make a band called BLACK CAT. You get very unlucky and end up in the clink due to your vices.

Sexist and racist? Probably not, ignore the rednecks. Sexy and racey? Quite possibly.
What is the perfect album length for you?
