I think that I find my favorite ending tracks tend to be down beat, darker songs. They evoke the feeling on an ending.
    D'espairsRay - Kaleidoscope

    Girugamesh - Kowarete Iku Sekai

    Lite - Arch

Mouse on the keys - Uroboros

    Russian Circles - Memorial

school food punishment - tooku hako no naka

Also, I'm waiting for someone to mention Oz's Breathe Trees (though I don't necessarily agree)

I don't listen to this band besides one or two songs, but this new one is not bad at all... I like it. Maybe an opportunity for me to get into their stuff once and for all?

    They are truly awesome

And let's not forget their latest back-to-the-80s flashback:

Ps. yes, Tempura Kidz have a notable role in this song too (doing bg vox, rather than being just a dance troupe for the PV)

I can't believe there wasn't an artist thread for these two flawless ladies yet. I personally feel like they're one of the strongest artists in J-pop at the moment and DIStopping is most probably the best pop album I've heard all year. Any more of you who enjoy them?

UK, Essex (not one to pinpoint where exactly I'm from usually). I HATE telling people where I'm from anywhere outside this location because I fear others will only know about TOWIE which greatly embarrasses me. I mean, we're not ALL that dumb. But yeah, the majority of us are. And when I say I was born in London, no one believes me. xD
Going back through the thread, I just noticed only a couple who also live in England. Quite low, but anyway, hey there neighbour.

Visutox reacted to Tetora in Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas - PHASE 2
    WRITE-UP:

Fear and Loathing`s third, and personally easiest to get into album.

While heavily retaining their distinct approach to song-writing, the band has created an album less tied to a genres feel, and more to a three-dimensional story told in vibrant color and many tempos as well as moods.

The tracks all feel like stand-alone adventures told sonically, with rock, layered with heavy electronics, harsh vocals and modulated soft, tender and youthful vocals interlacing. To get a feel for the album you can watch the PV`s, and listen to the songs released before-hand, yet that would only be a portion of the experience that the album presents to you. Each track is different, each one rides an emotional and musical roller-coaster, and each can go either way terms of whether you like it or not.

Numerous listens really changed my perspective of the album. At first some of the tracks attached to me, but others went right through me. After listening and listening, as well as going on a day of bike riding with the album on repeat, each track begin to take a hold on me in its own different way.

    Tracks that instantly clicked:

Are You Ready to Blast Off? / Rave-up Tonight
    Interlude
    Virtue and Vice
    Flutter of Cherry Blossoms

Tracks that had to grow on me:

    Swing It!!
    Thunderclap
    Nail the Shit Down
    Rain Inside Your Eyes
Counterattack by the Sesame Sized Bodies

Track that eventually became my favorite:

    Stay as Who You Are

So I started with a couple I instantly liked, then I slowly grew fond of others, and eventually found my favorite amongst a track I had previously not completely clicked with.

One of the beautiful things about the song style, is that there are so many parts to a song, so many changes, different moods, sounds, and catches laden within what can be longer tracks, where your favorite part is three minutes in, and in the process of waiting for it, discover new things you like just as much or possibly more.

Listen after listen the album rose in my preference, and it soon became my favorite release by the band, as I found many things that connected with me, and appreciated the more overt nature of the emotion in this release, as opposed to their previous works.

Track Count: 11 (Two short instrumentals, and 9 full tracks ranging from standard to longer length, yet the album blows by fast for me).
    Listens: 30-50
Production Quality: Great production, though my personal preference would be for an album with this range of instrumentation and tonality to have a bigger, clearer sound.

    Overall Rating:

    Worth the Purchase?
If you enjoy the sound of Rave-up Tonight, and Virtue and Vice, I would say this will definitely not leave you with post-purchase regret. An experience all its own that shouldn`t be missed if you like the band`s style.

I guess he already knows bands such as Bathory, Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, Venom, Kreator, Sodom, Destruction and so on, these classic bands with a pretty big status within the black and thrash genre.

Here's a few lesser known bands you should check out:

NME were one of the early blak thrashers, playing in a similar style as Venom, just more blackened.
Sabbat were one of the first extreme metal bands from Asia, playing black metal in the begining before transforming into black/thrash in 99. Lots of people consider their early outputs black/thrash as well, but I don't. For me it's pure black metal as black as only black metal can be. One of the best bands ever.
Aura Noir is an "all star" Norwegian black/thrash band with members from Cadaver, Dødheimsgard, Mayhem, Ved Buens Ende and more. One of the more legendary black/thrash bands around.
Bulldozer is another legendary band, released some fantastic albums in the 80's.
Abigail & Barbatos is the bands of Yasuyuki Suzuki, a legendary Japanese black metaller. Abigail started out as a pure black metal band but got thrasier after the first album, and Barbatos is a mroe punky version of Abigail. He also have a black/thrash band with Joel Grind of Toxic Holocaust called Tiger Junkies.
Nocturnal is one of the many bands of Avenger, playing raw, teutonic black/thrash in the vein of old Detruction, Sodom and Kreator.
Cruel Force is a Bathory-worship band. One of the best out of the newer black/thrash bands IMO. The Rise of Satanic Might is a modern classic IMO.
Sauron plays raw, yet catchy black/thrash of the purest kind.

I could probably continue forever. Love me some good black/thrash like.

Got it comrade, gonna check these ones asap. Thanks.

Hopefully we'll get some news before the end of the year.

Their hiatus makes me sad somehow, basically for the reason you mentioned. Let's hope his project is worth stopping Battlelore activities for a long time and see what happens in the future.

So they somehow went mainstream, I should have guessed that this was the reason (even if I haven't tried all their early stuff yet)... That doesn't bother me anyway, as they still awesome. Yeah I dig the drums on that new album too, awesome drummer. Really loved that new album.   Otherwise, currently I also listen to some black/thrash metal bands. Awesome stuff.       lml Still need to discover other bands tho.

in this one I've been told that miller wants Quiet dead but ocelot wants her alive and then big boss comes in and says to just put her in a cell for now. then the conversation between big boss and miller is big boss saying that when the time comes he'll kill her himself.

then there's this 20 minute gameplay demo!

Yes, neither Fen or Drudkh are the same as Agalloch, but they do have soem of the same atmosphere IMO. Despite being very different there's something very simiar there as well. As for Drudkh you should check out more albums. The first four, Microcosmos, Eternal Turn of the Wheel and Handful of Stars are all great.

Yeah, solo project. Hope the album will come soon. Been looking forward for it for a long, long time.

Yeah, hiatus. No idea if they'll come back or not. Seems like their main songwriter, Jyri Vahvanen, is busy with another band and wants to use his time on that. Shame, if you ask me at least. They were slowly getting THERE again, and then they go on hiatus.

I think a lot of fans are disappointed with the new Blut aus Nord because it isn't as unique as the stuff they've released since The Work Which Transforms God. This is more straight forward and similar to other bands, than what most of their albums have been. It's back the roots and what they did on their first two albums. This albums gives me a bit of early Blut aus Nord feeling, a bit Drudkh feeling, a bit Cascadian black metal scene feeling and a bit of early Emperor. And I think it's understandable that the fans of their twisted avant-garde material might feel disappinted with this. For me it's their best since The Mystical Beast of Rebellion. The addition of Gionata Potenti on drums is a great addition. Fantastic drummer. Love his drumming in Macabre Omen and Nocternity.
