This is me with lips stained by red wine after getting fed up with physical chemistry.

Bonuspic: my right ear! There used to be a sixth piercing but it accidentally healed up. I had to take my piercings off for one hour because of a x-ray examination and I was too lazy to put the piercings back right away. It healed up in like two weeks (!!!!!) and I had had it for like 3 years or something........ Fml etc.
One day I'm gonna get my tragus pierced that's for sure.

EDIT// Satanhellshit666 there was white border showing on the other side of the pic so I edited it again and replaced it.

Tetora reacted to Zeus in Viewing Visual Kei as a Genre. (Questionnaire)
I answered this question a while ago. It's neither, although it leans closer to being a scene. It may have started out as a genre at one point but it's long since surpassed those boundaries. It cannot be a genre because not every visual kei band plays the same type of music. For any genre you name, someone else can find a band that considers themselves visual kei that don't play that genre. Visual kei is simply music with a focus on visuals (hence visual style). Visual kei can't be pigeonholed into a scene or a genre without losing some of the picture.
And in case you missed my answer from before:

The way this question is phrased is deceptive since you already assume visual kei is a genre. In the sense that it has elements of a genre, it's sometimes easy to tell that a band is visual by looking at them. Othertimes, it's so subtle that it shouldn't matter. I'll never know if I'll like them until I hear a preview, because visual bands can look like anything and play whatever they want.

Looks mean nothing to me and I happen to think most visual kei bands look terrible. Once again, I don't care as long as the band sounds great.

In the Visual Kei scene, no. Visual kei covers a lot of different genres, but the concentration seems to be around either pop or metalcore. It's not time effective to do so.

No, I just repost the answer to question one and wait for the inevitable lack of response.

    See answer number one.

Before I run out of ideas in the later phase (I promise that I won't spam this any further), I will spew out my "last" effort in making sensible tributes, and that's ofc: DEG tribute. I am not the one to knock on Cat's tribute though - it's my "vision" on their possible lineup in possible tribute(s).

I might have been influenced by Cat5 (at least based on certain picks), and that is why he deserves my thanks

IN NOMINE - DIR EN GREY respect album-

    1. Joe Hisaishi - THE FINAL (overture)
A short, orchestral snippet of DEG's ”all-time hit” - pretty warm welcome for such a big tribute like this. Honorable one, too! With its majestic presence, it's very reminiscent to Final's unplugged version off ”THE UNRAVELING”.

    2. Downy – Rinkaku
By refining this to non-chuggy version with more complexity, this will find its way quite easily into Downy's comfort zone. (Side-note: should be tuned up to A# for the sake of segueing from ”THE FINAL”-prelude) Falsetto vocals shouldn't be the problem either.

    3. AA= - Child Prey
With those ”Wooh oooh oooh”-ing BG vocals, underlying electro influence (those weird effects during riffs) and downtuned guitars, I can expect Takeshi Ueda and folks to pull out even punkier performance than Kyo's own. The original in fact starts to remind me of Mad Caps for some reason.

    4. Coldrain – Agitated Screams of Maggots
Lyrics completely in English? Check. Lots of metalcore-y riffs? Check. Really fitting for Coldrain guys? Well, by judging their earlier covering efforts, I can see them having some potential to do this sweetly too.

    5. kamomekamome – Clever Sleazoid
After trying out some kamomekamome, I came to the realization that Kyo's performance in CS (both versions) is somewhat similar to what KK's vocalist was doing in most of their songs. I apologize to Cat beforehand for clinging onto same-ish ideas

    6. Kannivalism - Higeki ha Mabuta wo Oroshita Yasashiku Utsu
Sincere ballads like this are Kannivalism's specialty (knowing that their best songs like ”mum.” are like this), and so is underlying melancholy in Kyo's lyrics. Won't be a random number at all

    7. THE NOVEMBERS - Toguro
Atmospheric, riffy number – might be pretty much NOVEMBERS' specialty (tagging along with Cat in this case). Knowing what they've done in their latest album, potential of this being a good cover is pretty high. Oh, and let's not forget the bass too

    8. Lynch. - AMBER
Simple half-ballad with emphasis on low singing → goes well for Hazuki's range (falsettos too) and band's performance. Also, the guitars here are very reminiscent to what lynch. Started to do with ligher songs at their latest records. Nothing really else to explain in terms of obvious artist choice.

    9. Boris – Mazohyst of Decadence (2011 ver. cover)
Imagine if this was their lo-fi take on DEG's ”revamped” live version of MoD. I might see Takeshi using more of monotonous vocal take (with Imogen Heap-ish filtering) on Kyo's lyrics (can skip some parts), along with improvised take on Toshiya's VERY audible and varied bassline (lots of fuzz). Wata in the meanwhile can give those ””sludgy”” (have to use double quotation marks for the sake of it) riffs a bit more dynamics. Creepy pro-life songs definitely deserve a deeper take, and Boris are able to pull it off well.

    10. DAISHI DANCE feat. Chieko Kinbara – Hotarubi (a LIGHT mix)
Basically an instrumental House mix/cover of Dir's original. Having Kinbara appearing again in this piece (she played violins in the original), and DAISHI DANCE pulling out a Ghibli Set-like performance (vibraphones, soothing piano, some stock falsettos/vocals some strings + etc.). To live up to its mix title, it should be have more of hope-giving aura unlike the original with its ”all hope is gone”-vibes.

    11. Michiro Endo/M.J.Q – 304 Goushitsu, Hakushi no Sakura
Assuming that Michiro might ”thank” DEG for covering STALIN's ”Warsaw no Gensou”. With its acoustic-friendly performance, Endo might find himself even at his old age pretty comfortable with this. Some anti-folk-kind of vibe will be sweet for this track (should also be shorter than the original imho)

    12. Heaven In Her Arms – DIABOLOS
Some of Kyo's clean parts can be somewhat discarded here, for the sake of post-ish performance here. Atmosphere might be pretty fitting for them, and Kyo's growling/screaming can replaced with their ”signature” screaming without ruining the flow. I might even like their effort more than original.

    13. HOLLOWGRAM – Inconvenient Ideal
Falsetto-heavy number? Ryo's top-notch specialty. Also, by listening partly to their ”Qualia”-record, I admit that this wouldn't be an out-of-place number for them. In addition to the first statement of mine, Ryo can pull this off much better – methinks.

    14. MERRY – Rasetsukoku
Let's say it briefly: you know how this will end up – no? Imagine this in their ”Under-world” style, with a bit crunchier guitars

    15. Takumi (RES) – Vanitas (new instrumental mix)
Instrumental coda. Do you guys remember the PA song DEG used to play during DSS promo tour (music box-ish song). Expect this to be a remake but made by ”semi-DEG member” this time. Nice finish for a tribute

ps. I tried to make this less random and "biased" ,heh.

Tetora reacted to CAT5 in Viewing Visual Kei as a Genre. (Questionnaire)
Personally, I view it as both a scene AND a genre. While there are technically a variety of genres played within the scene, I feel like you'll find common musical nuances amongst them all (most notably the vocals) that strings everything together. I think when you remove those nuances and place them in a different musical setting, people will automatically think of "visual kei" when they hear it - which is why I regard it as a genre/style of music in addition to it being a scene.

It depends. Most VK looks horribly tacky to me (with a handful of exceptions), so If I were to judge bands purely based on their looks, I'd miss out on some potentially cool tunes.

I personally don't care for the looks. Good music will be good regardless. However, I think the VK scene NEEDS the entire image aspect to be successful. For a lot of bands in the scene, "image" is all they have going for them lol.

I search for music that will appease my ears. Obviously, there are certain genres/subgenres that appeal to me more than others, but I try to keep an open ear out for everything because with so much music out there, it's easy to overlook cool tunes. This is one reason I enjoy making and receiving mixtapes.

Not really. There's a new genre and sub-genre invented everyday, so to get flustered over someone mislabeling music seems a bit ridiculous. There's a ton of music out there that is completely ambiguous and defies labels, so many things can be left up to one's interpretation. But on the same token, If something is being CLEARLY mislabeled, I don't mind spending a few moments to educate someone (if that person is receptive to new knowledge that is).

Typically, I still tend to associate them with VK - like with lynch, MERRY, dir en grey, even miyavi. It's easy to change your image, but it's a bit more difficult to completely erase certain influences from the music you create.

1: Don`t worry about others, is Visual Kei a genre, or a scene, or something else, to you?

First and foremost, I would argue that visual kei is a scene, since a genre typically defines some quality of the sound or style of the music. What makes visual kei different is the 'visual' aspect. VK bands incorporate such a huge range of genres that it would be wrong to call them all 'visual kei' and be done with it. However, hypocrite that I am, I also personally find it convenient to think of VK as a genre too to some extent. I categorize my Japanese music for the most part into visual kei and non-, which then becomes rock, metal, or whatever umbrella I think the band falls under.

2: Most of the time can you tell the genre, or if you will like a band based on their look?

It's difficult to tell exactly what kind of sound a band is going for based solely on their image, although as a long-time listener of visual kei there are certain characteristics that give you a hint. For example, lolita styled bands like Versailles tend to have a kind of classical, technical style, while dark outfits and gloomy makeup make me think Nagoya or eroguro. The poppy bands like oshare kei conversely dress very brightly. Despite obviously knowing my own taste in music though, guessing a band's sound from the outset is not the same as listening to their music and their look alone won't suffice to tell me if they're worth my time.

3: Do the looks matter to you? If the same band dressed in Jeans and T-shirts with short hair, would you be as interested?

In a genre called 'visual' kei, of course the looks are important. But if my favourite visual band suddenly turned to casual clothing, that doesn't mean their sound would change too. The only thing that would stop me listening to a band I like is if their style changes too much to something I don't personally appreciate. If Signal had decided to switch to jeans and T-shirts, they would still be one of my favourite metalcore bands. I guess that's the difference - lose the visuals, and it's not really 'visual kei' any more.

4: Do you search for music by sub-genre, such as Nu-Metal, Alt. Rock, etc?

I'm aware of the infinite sub-genres people try to define rock and metal music under, but it doesn't really bother me. I tend not to search for music much anyway, a majority of new bands I come across are from news forums like these, or recommendations from friends. I have attempted to some degree to categorize my non-visual library into the broader sub-genres, but as I said before, that's reserved for anything I haven't deemed 'visual kei'.

5: Do you get annoyed when others label your favorite music as genres which you don`t agree with?

I haven't really encountered this. If I did, I think it would only bother me if it was clearly something very different from the style the band is going for. My real pet hate is people tagging Japanese bands in unicode for things like Last.fm, purely because it categorizes them uniquely. The only time you should tag a band name in unicode is if that is the band's official styling. Otherwise, well, you're tagging them with a different band name.

Bonus: If a band starts as Visual Kei, even if they change, are they Visual Kei 4 Lyfe?

I know this is a rule we enforce on the download forums here, but in my opinion, no. I can see how it is much easier in this case, where time is saved searching up bands' past releases, but there's no reason to continue calling a band visual kei if they lose the visual aspect. That's the defining feature of the scene, genre, whatever you decide to call it.

    Questions:

1: Don`t worry about others, is Visual Kei a genre, or a scene, or something else, to you?
I'd say both, although the genre in that case is a very loose one and it's very easy to find 2 bands that are both visual kei but play music so different from each other that it's a little weird to put their music into the same category but:
If someone would ask for a band that is similar to some vk song I could only recommend other vk bands. Mathematically speaking it's a group. A closed system. The only way to get out of vk by always listening to something similar to the song you listened before is go backwards until you get to songs that influenced the genre before it existed or go forth in the history of bands that 'left' the genre.
Almost every typical structure, image, rythm and sound can be found outside of vk, but not in the the context it's used there, the impact is completely different.

And that is maybe because it's first of all a scene and one that mainly influences itself and developed such a unique live-culture. The songs are mainly composed to fit into a classic vk live performance, they are specifically designed for that purpose and as there is no similar live culture in any other genre the songs will sound different.
So. The scene influenced the sound and made it into a genre, although genre is not the right word. Rather 'loose category of song structures and patterns'.

2: Most of the time can you tell the genre, or if you will like a band based on their look?
Well most of the time the general direction is obvious, although lately it became a thing for upbeat and fun bands to wear black and thick make up to confuse me.
Still. If I saw the bands look, the cover of their cd and read the song titles I will always have a pretty good guess what they sound like and I'm almost never wrong. Liking a band because of their look is absolutely ridiculous, though. Well sometimes I think 'wow they look cool, too bad they sound shitty.' or 'Damn, this band is so much fun, it'd be nice if they put more effort into their looks, they'd sure get more people to listen to them.'

3: Do the looks matter to you? If the same band dressed in Jeans and T-shirts with short hair, would you be as interested?
Absolutely. That sometimes happened to me with bands that stopped looking visual, like for example La'Mule. They were actually better in the end and the plain look suited them, too.
However. it is really unheard of for a band to have a casual look (from the very beginning) and play the genre I prefer. (That is your typical 98-03 indies sound with lots of screams and insanity) So of course I'd only try them out if someone told me about it as I'd never assume it if I saw them.

4: Do you search for music by sub-genre, such as Nu-Metal, Alt. Rock, etc?
I don't. Only by connections to bands I already like (same members, same label...) or recommendations by friends.

5: Do you get annoyed when others label your favorite music as genres which you don`t agree with?
Certainly, yes. For example when people use 'kotekote kei' for a band only because they are old or refuse to use it only because they are new.

Bonus: If a band starts as Visual Kei, even if they change, are they Visual Kei 4 Lyfe?
That really depends on how they change. Do they still use vk imagery, vk language, vk sale strategies?
Dir en grey for example dropped the looks a long time ago but they kept their 'visual kei' feeling because they still use cheap shock effects, dramatic language and still put on a theatrical show on stage.
On the other hand I'd never call Madbeavers visual kei. Everything about them is rock band, there is absolutely no connection.

1: Don`t worry about others, is Visual Kei a genre, or a scene, or something else, to you?

Hmm, kind of. Visual Kei is very diverse and the sound mostly depends on the bands' particular musical taste. However. I am not the only one who acknowledges Visual Kei achieved a distinctive sound in the mid 90's to early 2000's. Aliene Ma'riage is an example of it. I also give credit to bands like BAISER (early era mainly) for contribuiting to give shape to that sound.

2: Most of the time can you tell the genre, or if you will like a band based on their look?

When it comes to old school Visual Kei, yes, that's kind of easy, but with today's bands it is a bit difficult. You know, many bands dress up dark but sound either poppish or nü-metal.

3: Do the looks matter to you? If the same band dressed in Jeans and T-shirts with short hair, would you be as interested?

Looks matter to me but not more than the music. I like the dramatic performances many old school Visual Kei bands performed on stage. Today looks is more about looking cool and the dramatic performances have been brushed aside. I like to see theatre on stage and most VK today don't provide that to me. After all Visual Kei is about visual performances too, right?

4: Do you search for music by sub-genre, such as Nu-Metal, Alt. Rock, etc?

I don't like Nü-metal or when song are heavily based on it. I specifically like the sound of old school Visual Kei. Although that doesn't mean I might not like some songs like Circus by GUILD. But the sound I am in love with is that of old school Visual Kei (ex: Aliene Ma'riage, Due'le quartz, BAISER, Lar~Mia, CANARY, etc). I like how songs used to change in rythm, style, speed, etc and old school Visual Kei provides that to me so I base my search for music on those aspects.

5: Do you get annoyed when others label your favorite music as genres which you don`t agree with?

    Yes I do, a lot.

If so then Visual Kei is not a genre, you are now using images (which I do as well) as a way to differentiate between artists. Then Visual Kei is another word for genre but using vision instead of your auditory system

To me, visual kei is nothing but a scene or something like that. A genre is something that says something about a bands sound, and while a certain genre can be broad and have a lot of different sounds within it, it still says something about the sound the bands have. Visual kei says nothing about the sound itself as it range from electronica to thrash metal to pop and rock and so on. You can play death metal and be a visual kei band. You can play acoustic folk and still be considered visual kei. So no, not a genre to me.

One can often tell the genre, but one certainly can't say if one will like or dislike a band based on their look. A bands image says nothing about the quality on the music. You can look good and make shit music, just like you can look shitty and make good music.

No, it does not. I don't mind a interesting/good looking band, but it won't matter at all when it comes to music. A good image however can be the difference between checking the band out or not, just like a good or bad coverart can be the difference between checking something out and not.

Yeah, I do. It all depends on what I want. If I want some new ambient black metal I will search for ambient black metal. If I want some nu-metal that's what I search for. But I don't do this often as I don't tend to search for a certain type of music.

    ATTENTION SONY:

Let's face it: you snatched the GazettE up and signed them to your label faster than Dracula would volunteer at a blood drive. You know they have potential. I know they have potential. In five years we're going to be looking at a band that's at almost legendary status who would have exercised a great deal of influence on the scene. Then we're going to get into this discussion of how to milk even more money out of fans, and you're going to pull out one of these. So this is what's going to happen: I'll tell you what's good and who you could consider for these songs and if you take even a quarter of these suggestions, I will buy this album. Mostly because I want to see what these bands will do.

    BESTZETTE: A MICROCOSM

    1. FADELESS - MEJIBRAY x Sophia (ex. Blood Stain Child)

MEJIBRAY wants to be an indie version of the GazettE so badly it hurts, and I figure you want to start off the album with something familiar and catchy that will sell. I want to see how well MEJIBRAY can adapt Gazerock Drop-B tuning. Let Sophia handle all the female vocals and Tsuzuku can nail the incredibly simple but catchy vocal melody. Considering that they call themselves heavy, melodic rock, this is right up their alley.

    2. DERANGEMENT - girugamesh.

Leads in perfectly from the last track! I more than most people would like to forget that Gazestep was a thing. However, I think girugamesh would absolutely slay this song. Not to mention, they had their own little phase with MUSIC a few years before, so this is retreading familiar territory more than anything.

    3. SILLY GOD DISCO - Shiina Ringo x Seiji Kameda

I know exactly what you are thinking, but hear me out. The GazettE's original interpretation of this song suffers from spotty yet charming Engrish and tacky synth horns. Shiina's unofficial motto is that there's no such thing as too much as long as it's done tastefully. She'll handle the singing and orchestral duties. Kameda can handle the bass, which is integral to the groove of this song. Both of them are from TJ, so jazz sensibilities are not strange to them and they can funk around with the song until they get it right. I would pay to hear this.

    4. 余韻 - BORN

It's about time for something a little slower, right? The vocal pitch Ruki takes in this song is right around where Ryoga naturally sings, and parts of it harken back to the atmosphere of Abnormal Head Machine / THE PUBLIC CIRCUS when BORN actually tried with the atmosphere. Plus, it has enough visual kei trappings for BORN to feel comfortable. They can't pass up this opportunity.

    5.  LEECH - D.I.D.

Akane's throat-ripping screech on the opening of this track and a handful of some electronic elements are all this band needs to make this song their bitch. Not pretty sure what they'll do about all the female vocals, but they can figure it out.

    6.  十四歳のナイフ - 女王蜂

I can see Ziyoouvachi taking this song and upping the amount of crazy, punky energy to ridiculous levels. For that alone, they should do this song and Ai-chan can use both her vocal styles.

    7. Psychedelic Heroine - 凛として時雨

A stripped down, indie rock version of this song would just be lovely. The song practically cries for it. Ling Toshite Sigure is all about stripped down, noisy, but ultimately accessible rock. They go together like hands in gloves.

    8. 赫い鼓動 - DEATHGAZE

Straightforward metalcore with plenty of harsh vocals and plenty of room for clicky-clicky bass pedal courtesy of Naoki. Ai can take Ruki's lackluster performance and turn it into something awesome.

    9. 奈落- lynch.

Let's face it - the TOXIC B-sides are some of the GazettE's better work during that period, so one of them needs to make their way onto this make believe album of mine. lynch. is no stranger to slow tunes and piano, and Hazuki's vocals would fit in here very well. It's one of the few cases so far where I think the cover band can do this song better than the original artist, and Naraku is a pretty chill song.

    10. 関東土下座組合 - グリーヴァ

Here's some old-school shit for the old-school band Grieva. Alll the weird sounds and vocal cues are ripe for the picking in this song. Grieva wouldn't be going too far out of their comfort zone with this one and can update an otherwise unknown and neglected GazettE song into something pretty special.

The occasional "indie rock" influence in VK...

It's pretty obvious that most bands in the current VK scene aren't influenced by "indie rock" stuff in the least.  Still, there are a few bands (mostly ones that dabble in pop-rock) that have pulled from those styles from time to time.  Here's the chance to discuss those groups/ songs:

    ゾロ (ZORO) - 閃光 [2009]
It's mostly the solo that made me include this track, but I suppose if the song had less obviously VK vox, this could easily be from some indie band.  I do remember hearing this track back in the day and being completely taken aback that ZORO could produce this kind of stuff.

    (later) 愛狂います。(Aicle) [2010/2011]
Crazy-ass Aicle may have turned to mostly ho-hum, watered down pop-rock before they disbanded, but they still had some tunes I enjoyed like these.  There's a definite indie rock influence in the music (even a math rock one in the first track).

    Yeti [2013]
Yeti is more than the sum of their parts.  Despite having members from 4 different VK bands, they sound like no one else in the scene.  Rather than just the occasional song (or part of one song), the band on the whole seems to be channeling influences from bands like RADWIMPS and androp, with Satoshi's unique vocals on top.

    Chanty [2014]
The vocals are still kind of a giveaway of its VK origins, but musically, I can definitely see this being right at home in the indie scene.

Compared to ZORO and Aicle, who have only one or a few songs with this influence, Yeti and Chanty seem to be pretty committed to the style, incorporating it into their general sound.  Are they the start of a new trend?  Do you think indie/ math rock influences could eventually become a mainstay in the VK scene (much like pseudo metalcore is nowadays) or will it just remain a niche influence for a few groups?  Are any other groups using this sound?

    Discuss!

I would've been much more comfortable with other religion as this one is a bit more "out there" in terms of their beliefs, like how their prophet was visited in some place in America and issued physical tablets by God and told to lead. Anyway, their family would hold these weekly family time where they would get their family together and essentially read their bible(I think it was the bible or their religion issued ver.) and discuss about it. I went along to some of these as way to get closer to their family and essentially be more accepted as I wasn't of their religion. The dad was a former pastor of their religion and I was the same ethnicity as they were so they understood my background more or less and assumed I was catholic as my ethnicity is a catholic by majority. During one of these times (and I guess as a test put by the dad), I was asked to explain about a passage just read and comment about. I AM A FUCKING ATHEIST! I bullshitted everything in how the passage related to me or any other conclusions. That was probably the hardest moment ever during my relationship concerning her family and some of the worst times for me overall.

    Lol at last story.
    On the topic of games...
I have actually dated a lot of girls that like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, even girls you would never expect it from...
What is the worst date you guys have ever been on?
Seems like Peace has been on some doozies.
For me, it was when the girl I met at a wedding brought her gay best friend along on our first date... Besides that we had thrilling conversation over her favorite hobbies.... facebook and sleeping. Needless to say there was no second date.

I gave myself a little too much to work with by going with all Chiba's bands instead of just picking one, so I have more than one song for a few artists. It's so hard to narrow it down.

    Chiba Yusuke Tribute Album

THE BEATMOTORS - Baby You Can (The Birthday) – they’re good at slower, sort of laidback rock songs, and I think they would put enough attitude behind it.

Yellow Studs – Namida ga Koboresou (The Birthday) or 19:40 (SNAKE ON THE BEACH) – Would like to see them shorten 19:40 somehow, since it's a little too long to listen to regularly.

Nothing’s Carved In Stone – Hoshi no Melody (ROSSO) – This is my favourite ROSSO song, and I think Taku would nail the emotion near the end

THE BACK HORN - Piano (The Birthday). It’s a sad song, with a slightly dark/sinister feel, and I think that’s where they’re strongest

04 Limited Sazabys - Muddy Cat Blues (The Birthday) – I’d like to hear a lighter version of this one by someone with a childish voice, since the lyrics are so cute.

Jeepta - NIGHT LINE (The Birthday) or Carnival (The Birthday)

ZIGZO - I was walkin’ and sleepin’ (TMGE)

BALZAC - GILDA (The Birthday) or Revolver Junkies (TMGE)

    KUROYUME - Sharon (ROSSO)

Drop's - Ano Ko no Suitcase (The Birthday) - Would be cool to hear a female take on this song, and their singer has such a great rock voice

Alright since no one else apparently goes on dates here, here's another interesting experience.

I was seeing a guy that mentioned his cousin was really into gaming. I thought that was cool since they lived in the same building together and if things went well it would have also meant I would have gotten to know his family. When he mentioned he liked card games, I said "Oh, I play Magic a lot with my friends. Does he play that?" His answer was "No, that's against the bible so our family isn't allowed to play it."

Needless to say things really didn't work out shortly after that.

    I disagree.
I am a business man, and you do what it takes to win, but this is not how you win.
As for morals, everyone has their own, what matters is standing by them no matter what, which is what seperates the men from the b*tches of this world.
I have seen many different businesses from the inside, and the ones without morals are the ones without balls, and they almost always have more debt than profit in their ventures, though they wont tell you that.
The,fact that these bands are announcing a conditional disbandment shows me they actually dont have what it takes.
I can give examples of real bands that did what it took, like Buck-Tick or Dog in the PWO... Haru put his whole life into being in a band, he used to sleep in lobbies, look all day for band members, give up oppurtunities elsewhere to continue music, etc... These other bands come out with unrefined looks and sounds, then disband after not becoming SID or Alice Nine in six months.
    Just my two cents.

    Tribute to vistlip

    1. Night Parade - ギルド
One of the most technical vistlip songs in terms of overall dynamic range. Sounds like something Ryuichi will be able to pull off with his fantastic execution, but Umi's harsh vocals might be a problem though.. XD

    2. 影鬼 - 摩天楼オペラ
This song requires tremendous emotional depth to invoke the psychological condition of the schizophrenic "oni". Matenrou Opera gets my pick here.

    3. 零 - baroque
There's quite literally no second choice to be had here. This song almost sounds like it's written and tailored for baroque, particularly Ryo's vocals.

    4. OBLATE SCREEM - Plastic Tree
Surreal, dreamy, and atmospheric. Totally Pura.

    5. STRAWBERRY BUTTERFLY - Dolly
Thematically speaking, there's no better band to do this song than Dolly. I can see them transporting us right into the fable-ish setting of how a young innocent child registers the world.

    6. 深海魚の夢は所詮、 - ALSDEAD
Regardless of which band I pick to cover this it's always going to turn out significantly different from the original, but I'm very interested in how an ALSDEAD rendition will sound like.

    7. SINDRA - girugamesh
In my dreams, I KNOW. One of vistlip's heavier songs, and I'll prob die from ecstasy even before Satoshi starts singing this. I also suspect that the electro backed instrumentals that giru loves so much will sound amazing if incorporated in this song.

    8. CHIMERA - the LEM
Very difficult "run-on" song with hardly any break for the vocalist. Rikuto will be perfect here with how he transits between chest voice and his incredibly effortless falsettos.

    9. July VIIth - SINCREA
I was very torn as to whether I should include this. On one hand, this is pretty much the iconic song of vistlip and the one that has most symbolic significance for them (7/7 being their anniversary) so it would be scandalous if it's missing from a tribute album. But precisely because of this I find it hard to imagine anyone else other than vistlip singing it XD Still, I'm confident SINCREA will do justice to this masterpiece

maybe morals and ideals are indeed useless in this world. maybe we shouldn't let kids know about them in the first place.

irrelevant i think i overreacted. but anyway there must be a more clever promotion way or something that doesn't sound pathetic.
i guess to be succesful you need to be clever , even if you don't have pride lol
