Haha, yeah, that was quite a wild ride. Also when it turned out that Kisaki was an abuser and pedo… thanks to MH I lost all the respect I had left for him, lol.

    –––––
RIP Mh. Took me a while to write something…

I know I didn't post much at the end, because I took a break from the internet and especially social media. I don't know if people really recognize me, since I am here only sporadically, despite being signed since a long time. I admit, I like lurking more than actually talking to other people. I still took part in some discussions and being the weird introvert that I am, I usually regretted voicing my stupid opinions afterwards. In the end I didn't delete any posts though, because I feel that's part of forum culture, owning up to the bullshit you say, even if it's cringe and letting it stay on the internet. Some disputes and lovely banter here was funny though and it fills me with a strange fuzzy feeling to know that i have been part of some fandom drama. It's like being part of an old folk tale, you know? Now I wonder how much of the drama will be even remembered in 10 years…

Honestly, a year ago or so I believed MH would stay for much longer, since the forum managed to outlive most other de-centralized communities and websites. Seems I was wrong and it comes to an end sooner than I thought. I know there's a new community on discourse, but I have to admit, I don't like social media sites and centralized web hubs and places. I think discourse is a better alternative than having nothing, but MH's UI was miles better. MH also feels so much more personal… I cannot explain it. I just don't really feel the same thing when I go online on sites like reddit, facebook, etc. Everything's quite dull and surface level, particularly on FB.  VK fandom communities on other sites are also rather meh…

Anyway, before I start writing bullshit, I just want to thank all the people who kept the site alive for more than a decade. I discovered a lot of great bands and music here, some of the discussions were entertaining to read. Hope you are all doing fine, despite the train wreck of a year we had.

It's really touching to get notifications for being mentioned here. I'll definitely keep a lot of hilarious memories from this place as well. If I had to pick one, that one time we all joined forces and exposed Kisaki over his fake band history was definitely a peak.

Whether we interacted or not, I hope everyone gets to live their best life beyond this forum. Have a good graduation and departure™ my dear monochrome citizens. Take care and stay healthy.

I noticed some very strange things about Kisaki's bands Levia and LAYBIAL, which were around in 1993 and 1994. For example, this is the tracklisting of the MISS tape by LAYBIAL.

    01. Dejavu
    02. MISS
    03. virginig Plesures
    04. Refuse
    05. MOTHER
    06. One More Love

    Official source: http://under-ground-music.com/kisakihppart/english/DiscShosai.php?shohinNo=000009

Also in the mid-90s there was a band called VICE∞RISK. They released the tape Mother and this is the tracklist:

    01. Virgining Plesures
    02. Refuse
    03. Mother
    04. One More Love

I saw the lyrics sheet with my own eyes, so I can confirm that it's real.

Now let's look at Levia's KELOID tape:

    01. KELOID
    02. PRAY

    Official source: http://under-ground-music.com/kisakihppart/english/DiscShosai.php?shohinNo=000007

Around the same time there was a band called Nude of J. Their 傷痕 demo looks like this:

    01. KELOID
    02. 恋に焦がれ愛に埋もれ
    03. PRAY

I also saw a sheet of this tape, the tracklist is legit.
I can upload pics of the VICE∞RISK and Nude of J tracklists, if you guys want to see a proof.

So.. Can anyone explain this? For me, it doesn't make sense at all.
VICE∞RISK and Nude of J seem to be COMPLETELY unrelated to Kisaki or his bands. I even compared the member names, because sometimes members went into different bands and rerecorded songs they've written for another band, but there's not a single similar name anywhere.
Was Kisaki making things up when he decided to release information about this old bands and just took random songtitles of obscure bands from that time? O:
Or did the bands just covered each other, which is highly unlikely...

I know there's a KISAKI history book out there. Maybe someone here owns it, so we could compare the titles? But I'm 99% sure that it will contain the same information as on that UCP site.

Lots of nice stuff on Matina so it's not an easy pick, but I'd probably go with:
    Madeth gray'll
    MIRAGE (first period)
    Sense of Shape
    LAYBIAL
    Distray
    Lagna

Honorable mentions: AZALEA, オルゴール (Orgel), Lumi/Ere, Eze:quL, DAS:VASSER

Also worth mentioning is that this seller had at least two more copies of the bootleg Matina DVD hyura bought + at least two KELOID tapes.
    http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b158133370
    http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b159894149

And this Levia tape (滅びの序章) mentioned in the thread before.
    http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b158348584

I suppose 滅びの序章 belongs to a real band called Levia, the one that was listed a lot of times in CLUB GIO's 1993 list (where Kisaki's Levia never played).
And as we know, their member names confirm that they had nothing to do with Kisaki: http://monochrome-heaven.com/uploads/monthly_03_2014/post-515-0-68667200-1395329942.png
I'm very sure that the tape sold by this seller (who is Kisaki or someone who's involved in his shit) had a photocopied cover without these names on it. From what I saw on Naaaaani's photo, there aren't any names on the KELOID tape either.
When Kisaki made up all his bullshit (probably around the time when he released his book in 2007) he just used this Levia band as a base for his "first band".
Even the title of his fictional band's tape was derived from Levia's. http://kisaki-official.syncl.jp/?p=shop&id=530024&af=
    滅びの序章 → 滅序章

    Oh and this:

Yeah sure, KISAKI PROJECT in 1994... Why not create another potential tape to sell for 5000 yen, right?
I won't be surprised if this someday pops up on an auction from a user who's selling unreleased Matina and UCP stuff - more than one copy, of course. ;D

The only thing so far that may indeed be real is that 奴隷華 tape by SHEY≠DE, which is listed in hyura's magazine from 1999 as their only tape. I somehow doubt that he already faked his band history back then, but who knows...

Sorry, but how are some obscure teen bands who were probably as "big" as Kisaki's band "heroes" for them...?

As for the fact that it was common to copy certain phrases and titles: Yeah that's true, when you look at a number of vk bands you may see some similar titles here and there. But THIS is just too conspicuous.. I mean.. They just took a whole tracklist and simply copy-pasted it. Maybe added 1-2 songs. I don't know but it's just extremely weird that something like this was done on purpose, concerning at least 3 different bands. I haven't seen anything like this in any other vk band.

This would also mean that they all had to be from the same region. How else could have such tiny bands heard about each other and even know their song titles (and the order in which they recorded them on their demo tape...)? According to Kisaki's official site (which I just found), Levia were from Wakayama (Kisaki's birth town). Nude of J (formed 1 year before Levia) were from Gunma prefecture, which is nearly half across Japan from the Wakayama area.
Or maybe the 15-17 year old Kisaki traveled around Japan and went to numerous lives of bands who were together for a month and thought "FUCK YEAH! KELOID, PRAY, VIRGINING PLESURES! Guys I have no idea what it means but your song titles rock my socks! Hell, I'll make a band when I'm home and use all of them (including spelling mistakes)"
No seriously... it seems a little bit too far-fetched. :/

Wow, which tape is it? Can you tell us about the songs on it?

Here is the lyrics sheet from Nude of J's tape.
If you have trouble with Japanese, just pay attention to the English parts. They're the same songs.
To make it clear.. I'm not saying they just covered the songs, but those "Levia" songs Naaaaani uploaded are Nude of J - exactly the same recording.
And Nude of J were indeed a real band, which was active for about 8 years (they had different lineups and were called Bijou later).
There's definitely something very fishy about Kisaki's history...
