Some stuff I've seen recently...
 
The Complex (a.k.a. Kuroyuri danchi) - Kinda nothing-special almost boring ghost horror from Hideo Nakata. Expected a bit more from the guy who directed such titles as Ring or Dark Water.
 
The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Awesome, heartfelt, funny, dramatic, etc. brilliant coming-of-age movie! Gotta love Ezra Miller, and the music was pretty sweet too.
 
Zombie Women of Satan - I think you could guess the genre, lol. It was super low-budget but kinda fun. Tells you something that the guy who directed it stars in the main role as a character called "Pervo the clown."
 
Opera - Haven't seen this Dario Argento gem before, it sure delivered! Beautiful cinematography, some really clever moments and overall pretty cool tension (I just wish I could forget the cheesy heavy metal in some scenes, lmao).

Accidentally clicked on a goth/industrial site's visual kei section back in 2004 summer, got interested to try out some Japanese rock, so downloaded the PVs they had up there. Atsushi Sakurai, Dir en grey, Malice Mizer, Baiser, Buck-Tick, Dué le quartz, Kagerou, Noir fleurir, I think that was the selection.

I'm sorry but fuck this "you're just looking to be offended" mentality. Just because I noticed a bunch of sexism in the show doesn't mean that I wasn't paying attention to the story. Honestly it would be a lot harder to go through those two episodes and try to ignore all of the sexist bullshit. And "a little fanservice" are we even talking about the same show? A huge amount of the fight scene (with the boxing guy) is the camera slowly panning up over her body, and the camera zooms in on her breasts and crotch when the suit gets tighter. I can only assume that the male gaze only gets stronger as the show progresses.
 
Oh you mean she was just supposed to embrace the living sailor uniform that literally stripped her naked and forced itself on her without her consent. Fuck that. It was incredibly uncomfortable to watch, unfunny, and reads like a rape scene. A woman's sexuality and femininity should not defined by her having to embrace a sexual assailant that forced her to wear a stupidly revealing outfit.
 
 
Thanks but no thanks, that crap about having to "accept" the godrobe sickened me. I'm done with the show. And lol over-the-top sexism is minor now? Keep letting that conformation bias blind you.

omfg I completely read "homophones" as "homophobes" the first time and that's why I was really confused. I recall getting a lot of similar sounding words incorrect in my Japanese classes in correct, some of which were funny to my teachers. For example, "takusan" means "a lot," but could be confused as "Mr. Taku."
 
If I made a Japanese textbook, I'd name one of the characters "Donna Toki" just to fuck with everyone. Am I asking what time or am I talking about Donna???? I don't know!!!

omg they're gonna announce disband on april the 1st and a sequence of twenty five track singles the day after, how witty and clever of them!!!!!

Quite confident for a vk band, announcing a release 8 months ahead. XD
But I for one sure hope that they will still be around by then. *knock on wood*

I heard one of undercode's retirement contract terms basically forces them to rival other band members by entering bland pop rock projects and whoever joins the most uninspired female fronted unit rips and devours the hearts of his rivals
 
so far Cell wins, but this comes really close & we haven't heard that hamasaki ayumi & kisaki secret project TONExDEAFIES yet

^ That's not the final mixing tho, just a demo sample (with drum machine if I suspect correctly). They've been doing this method for a while now, for their previews.
 
I remember when they first did it and everyone freaked out how bad it'll sound, lolol. XD
 
Anyway, can't rly say much about the song yet. Hoping the whiplash will stay in the final version.

This would've been great news... if it happened in 2008 or so when I actually liked their music. I've listened to a few of their newer releases and I haven't really liked them.
