Based on what I've seen (a lot of booklet scans), eve has composed like 95% of their songs since 2013. I always thought it was unusual for a VK band to not be their own songwriters. (or at least be credited as such)

That's weird, they just got a new drummer and stuff. Welp. I will be looking forward to Seiko's next project..

yay for lists AUGUST 16 EDIT Haven't touched this since April. Yeah I'm way too lazy to update this. And I haven't listened to new releases enough to form an opinion.

Beer reminds me of the taste of Chinese bitter melon, which is one of the few foods I refuse to eat.

  11. When the internet at home/work is out, I will obsessively power cycle the modem & router and curse liberally until the damn thing works again.

^ I'm not sure what to say about that list.. I've only heard of Bjork, The Gallo, and Lycaon, but I've only heard Lycaon's song before, and I can't remember what it sounds like. Well, I guess it's interesting to see Bjork mixed in there with visual kei, hehe. What I have on my iPhone right now is a playlist of some new-ish releases mixed up with some old favourites.. DADAROMA - KURT SHIVA - Kimi no kage jealkb - Bara no toge to yubisaki no chi o Amuro Namie - WHAT A FEELING CindyKate - Masayo to ByeBye Amuro Namie - WANT ME, WANT ME Crimson Shiva - Mermaid Misery CindyKate - Futari no Bouquet the GazettE - DEPRAVITY Grieva - Kairi seidouitsusei shougai Uhh, god I don't know how to pick a fave from this list. I have mad respect for Namie.. "WHAT A FEELING" is god tier awesome... "WANT ME WANT ME" has amazing lyrics like "I am oochie lala poppin coochie" and the rapid fire "sumi kara sumi made ura kara omote made doko mo kashiko mo baby let me taste it" which I worked real hard to memorize/sing. jealkb is severely underrated, considering their roots as 30/40-something comedians (I think), it's doubly amazing that "Bara no toge.." is such a good song. (side note - remember the brief romance between Namie and jealkb's vocalist Haderu?) HOWEVER I will go with CindyKate's "Futari no Bouquet". It's pretty much the most serious song in that band's catalogue (I'd consider them a pop/comedy band). It's surprisingly emotional, and builds up nicely from a minimalist intro into a heavy rock ballad. Also, really fun to sing along to.

  19. Well, my mother was born in China, did not get a great education, and she's rather old, so I don't think it is too surprising. (She also strongly dislikes Japanese people and looks upon my visual kei fanaticism with disdain, because of Japan's brutal invasion of China in the early 20th century...) There are probably a ton of racist white people in America who would be very upset if their child married a black (or non-white) person. Not to mention the continued existence of the KKK and Neo-Nazis...

  22. My personal favourite type of MEJIBRAY song is the tortured ballad. これを依存と呼ぶなら and 躁と鬱と境界 to be specific. Those 2 songs would rank very highly on my "favourite VK songs of all time" list. Holy crap I would be so happy if they made something on that level again. 悲哀 was approaching greatness but it's too short and didn't build up enough.

oh god Amazon Japan is selling Star Ocean 5 pre-order for 18% off, so it's ¥7,039 .. but those prices include sales tax, which are removed when I go to checkout. So the price is actually ¥6518 .. but then, add back approx. ¥300 for shipping which means it'll cost me only $85 (stupid weak dollar) AGH so tempting. I have 4 games in the cart now, totalling about $250 (or $285 if the customs fee isn't refunded). T_T;;;; ..That price isn't so bad, considering a new game sold in Canada costs $80, plus ~$10 tax if I buy a physical copy. You know something is wrong when it costs me less money to import a game from Japan than to buy it locally.
