While its one of my favorite tracks from 2017, i didn't expect them to release a video for this since the main riff is nearly an exact copy of KoЯn's Rotting in Vain

0.1g was on of the worst bands i've seen live, totally chaotic and no clear sound/melody/anything hearable at their live, their vocalist couldnt sing at all and was just all yakuza/chimpira talking and besides was the most ugly member of any band i've seen live so far. That wouldnt have shocked me but what did was when he jumped down and attacked one girl in the audience after insulting her verbally from the stage. The other members had no stage presence whatsoever wearing just training suits and i thought it was a solo project with support members.
 
I cant believe how this band has any fans at all besides 14 year old girls that love the insulting/bad boy image.

@deadman Thank you very much for the short translation, it explains a lot and changes my view a little of what he said before! However i do still believe the major label etc. had a do in the change of style too.
 
Contrary to what i expected before - i really like this album. Since the release of the album im actually listening to it non stop and cant remember when i last enjoyed an album this much. I even stoppped listening to DIMLIMs really good album because i listen to this.
I was really dissapointed of the samples and after loving their early stlye i hated they would become another MUCC. But as with MUCC i might tread them just as 2 different bands old DEZERT and "J-Pop" DEZERT (as their label put them in a J-Pop Playlist). What i like is that it still sound very "depressive" for me.
Interestingly, the song most sounding like their old style (for the guitar), 蛙とバットと機関銃, is my least favorite, because it sounds so forced.
Favorites: 沈黙, Hello, オレンジの詩, TODAY.
Rating: Something between 8 or 9/10 (so better than their 2nd album for me).
 
I will enjoy DAMY and DIMLIM and the likes as "heavy" bands and will enjoy this new DEZERT as something different. However always: the intro bass riff on their first album (that one they took from DAMY) : best things they've ever done. (+ that short eroguro style section in 飼育部屋 (01:03-01:18))
 
Offtopic: I actually dont want to go further into the 12012 discussion (i remember 10 years ago or so i was 1 of the 2-3 people on here defending the position 12012 actually didnt change their style (against a "massive" hating crowd), just developed (you can see this when playing their songs on guitar etc. (they changed for their self titled tho, not returned to old style!)) - however im not sure i would have the same position today). But if you want to see a cut it is after their first album and best of with orion and not because of the scandal if it was after their 2nd album (i dont remember when the scandal started). I split them into 4 playlists having similar sound: 2003-2006 (best era for me), 2006 (orion) - 2009 (mar maroon), 2009 (薄紅と雨) - 2010 (SEVEN), 2012-2014. I saw them once live at an event and they played songs from all eras while looking like normal dudes (no makeup costumes). So they didnt ignore their old songs or anything. Oh and they had like no fans caring for them at that live.

After read this interview, that explain why they have some thematically change on lyric since live-distributed single ohayou. It changed from grotesque theme to this kind of existential theme.
 
Some of the lyric in ohayou means "I used to be think everything was fine but now every morning I wake up feel like shit,why is that? whats wrong with me? It really suck." "I dont wanna live yet I dont wanna die, I just keep singing" "when can I smile again from bottom of my heart, I wanna go back to that morning" So my guess is his depression start around that time(2016).

I would try DARIAN MARIAN, DARRELL, GENGAH, Misanthropist, Screech in2 the Rain., THE ENDEMIC OAK (similar to meth. before disbanding), Vercia.
Weird vocalists i would try Ⅸ -NINE-, gezigezi, MUNIMUNI, Noulla, SAVAGE, モンストロ

No, they released more. You can find 3 CDs on their homepage, but they released more.
 
But you understood me wrong i think. They have around 10 to 15 songs they play at their lives (usually 4 to 6 songs at one live). Some of those are released, some of them arent. But this is the case for like most bands i think. However, the background guitars, intros, effects etc. playing as "playback" seemed so finished, that i thought they recorded those songs already (thats why i thought they would release a single or mini album this year). But seems these songs will never see the light of day (except if you have live recordings that you can listen to). Thats why some people love live recordings ("terekos") from small bands that have only 1 live distr. but dozens of songs they only played live and didnt have the money to record.
 
Maybe this underlines some thoughts: Take the band LIM for example. When i saw them live i only knew their 1 live distr. and thought they are no big deal but the event live was packed with fans for them and they played 4-5 songs (of which 3 will be released on their upcoming CD). On the same live MEIDARA played, that have some CDs released and seemed to have fans here, but had 0 fans at the event i saw them (most people even left only for their set). Just because a band isnt famous on here doesnt mean they arent "famous" in the vk scene and vice versa  I felt BUK BUK was an example of a band not so known here but that couldve had an impact on the vk scene as the new DAMY or DEZERT as some here called them (even tho most/all of their songs are without screams and more melodic). But when i saw their vocalist without makeup and realized how young he was i feared such disbanding would happen when they finish school or so.

Seems that ex-BUK BUK vocalist 沫 (Awa)'s session band "沫セッション" (Awa session) is now called "AWA" and is directly described as "ex-BUK BUK" and they play mainly/(only?) BUK BUK songs. Also seems that れ。 (ex-BUK BUK) would be their bassist but since he cant participate at announced lives (?) 吉 will replace him (he played guitar with Awa before). Awa also plays guitar alongside am.
Meanwhile ex-BUK BUK guitar 純 (Jun) seems to play in other session bands that cover mostly DEZERT songs.
I dont get why they just dont continued as BUK BUK in the old DEZERT style direction.

Love those KoЯn inspired riffs. Those screams/shouts really caught me! Looking forward more and more to the album now!

This is not an exhaustive list of grievances, but it should do.

Why release one of the best ballads of your career in Ain't Afraid to Die, and then not include it on the album? Why does the album end with Zakuro and Taiyou no Ao, two of the most resident sleeper songs on the whole album? Wake is basically Luna Sea's Hurt. Why does the country bop Audrey get sandwiched between the prog behemoth of MACABRE and the thrash Rasetsukoku? Why is Deity four minutes long, and why does that minute and a half intro mean that Myaku has no intro or outro? Hotarubi is just boring. Where is children and why is it nowhere to be found on the album when that deep cut is better than most of the tracks I've mentioned?

Why is the production paper thin? THREE instrumentals? Really? It's there to hide how disjointed the whole album feels and it doesn't do a good job. PINK KILLER is a terrible way to end the album. And it's not even the song that's bad, just the shoddy execution of it. tfw Zomboid's remix is better than whatever shit stain placed second on the album.  embryo is snoozeville. I don't care how egregious the lyrics are, the rest of it is about as exciting as sleeping in a broken washing machine. Why are the best non-single tracks on the album not called Bottom of the death valley (24 Cylinders, Gyakujoutannou Keloid Milk) B-sides of the previously released singles? JESSICA comes out of nowhere and doesn't belong on an album so vulgar. The Domestic Fucker Family is just foochin' terrible and I don't think a re-recording could save that song, even if they went all in on the doom direction.  
I can go on and on with some other albums, but I think you get the idea.

“Devote my Life” and “Celebrate Empty Howls” don’t sound like Dir en grey song titles at all. 

Never underestimate how female singers can bring in all those Otakus filling the venue!

These kind of concept never works because the female loli singer’s target audience (otakus) will jealous these three ikemen bando man while the target audience of these three(ban gya) will think how dare this stupid menhera loli to seduce my princessss
 

this was a 6/10 for me, found it to be a pretty poor album but with some good songs on it. will keep it around for the mid tempo bangers and faith+grotesque

I've listened to XIII a few times and can confirm that this isn't a new low in lynch.'s career. It's not a new high either. It's hard to do new things when your livelihood revolves around doing the same thing in a new way in perpetuity. With no immediate flaws that demand attention, It's not the stinker that GALLOWS was on first listen. I do have a lot of nitpicks about certain songs and choices made, which work together to take the album down a few pegs. I haven't listened to lynch.'s new material seriously in a year and a half because I got tired of the monotony of their heavier sound, but respected that willingness to push in new directions, fail a few times, and learn from those experiences. They've walked back on that experimentation here for the most part and in many ways have regressed to SHADOWS-era songwriting capability, but they walked it so far back I don't sense any of the lessons learned in the final product. I say "for the most part" because a large part of my burnout comes from how one-dimensional their heavier tracks are, and that is still front and center. XIII gets good when the band lets songs like "RENATUS" and "SENSE OF EMPTINESS" do all of the talking, and makes me realize how much I'd kill for a ballad mini-album from them. There are other deep cuts in XIII which indicate that effort was spent on the album; the guitar melody at the end of "GROTESQUE" is an easy example of new ideas put into production. Songs like "JOKER" illustrate there are still visual-kei motifs they haven't exhausted yet (although I feel like that carnival/jazz take on rock was done better on "GHOST"). But dear god, the amount of times I was listening to a new song and thought I was listening to something else entirely is too damn high, much like rent. And having two one minute interludes on the album to bulk up a track list that would otherwise look anemic is a personal pet peeve. There's not much left to say except that it's another album from lynch., it's at least better than half of their previous albums, and it's not doing anything to turn old fans away or to bring new fans into the fold.

Those two are definitly the main reasons. All those drama reasons you wrote are funny but not the main problems i think (while still exceptionally high in vk compared to other genres).

Maybe certains who had a contract with label and these hold more time because they had  a contrat respect.
 
In the beginning everyone is ok or maybe certains don't really  know what the music who  want. And this  gave musical difference or  differents opinion.
Maybe the young bands don't know  how the system is. Or the reality is different  or more difficult than they think.

I felt he talked so honestly at the oneman i went to about questioning why doing music. I thought you become like that AFTER you do such shitty music with major change but not doubt music and then your solution is to make flat pop music?!

I followed them like crazy in 2013-early2014, getting all those 1 day only store limited shit because i loved 暁 in Diverse glare in Riot. But after their good self titled they became just too repetitive for me, maybe the most repetitive band i've ever heard. I tried many times to like them but every time i feel i listen to the same song over and over and over again, sadly mostly for 暁's vocals. I've had their playlist with idk somewhat 40 songs on them in the background once while friends visited and after some time they asked me to put on another song, they didnt notice there were more than 2-3 rotating songs played... I switched to the Diverse glare in Riot single and they said this is much much better for the vocalist and i told them its the same vocalist which they didnt believe at first. I thought its quite obvious that its still the same voice? That story really did happen, lol
Also, i was hugly dissapointed and shocked when seeing them live in 2014. I felt besides their drummer everyone had no talent at all (im not sure bass and guitar even played their instruments or those were playback). Maybe only HOLLOWGRAM shocked me more that day with how bad they were live.
But watching their live videos on youtube they seem to have improved live wise (while those cant be used for judging a band tho) and doing well (are they?), so seems they're just not my cup of tea. Still always sad that potential he showed in Diverse glare in Riot was lost to this. Also for me, im always disgusted by those horrible "screams" hes doing. But they do have great band pictures! I really like the current one in the woods.
