(Whole live in playlist). Knowing how bad they are live, i wonder why i even watched this. Still love their CD recordings. Amazing how many people are in the audience enjoying this band. I wonder there was ever a band this bad in vk with "such" amount of fans? I just hope their vocalist never shows up again.

Internationally maybe Dir en grey. In Japan, definitly X. You might underestimate how little known Dir en grey is within Japan (95% of the time speaking to young/old people: Dir en grey, who?). Visual Kei is only X, Kuroyume, Luna Sea, Glay, L'Arc, Golden Bomber for most people. Within the (small) community its different of course. Its always interesting on what dimension you discuss. Only within the community, the foreign community or within media/country/global in mind? Even tho i prefer Dir en grey by far, its unarguably how little importance they had and still have compared to X. Again you can say that Dir inspired dozens of bands following their sound, but all with even less to no importance and with more fans on this forum than ever showing up at their live/buying their CDs.

If so, it was just added for the DVD. Watching the trailer, this looks and sounds A LOT better than the live actually was (still was great tho). The cutting adds a lot i feel. And i wonder if they just include like the first half of the show on the DVD since his voice couldnt handle 2 h live and became worse and worse with time.

At their oneman live 千秋 was talking about how he was deeply thinking about why he's making music and whats the point of continuing. After several weeks/months of thinking he still couldnt find one good reason. Guess like in a typical MC everyone exects him to say for the fans or for music but he said he doesnt care about the fans at all. Everythings useless for him, seemed quite honestly depressing (not blabla im so depressed, love me for that - Karma/AvelCrap) what he said. Still the MC was so incredible bad/boring at first, seems he didnt know what to say at first at all. Before or after (dont remember) they played a song for like 20 mins or so with SaZ walking around in the hall/entering from various doors and 千秋 playing guitar while "crowd surfing/sitting on the crowd" (dont know how to describe better), what he could do really well/ awesome shredding solos, was totally suprised by that. The setlist order of the songs felt totally random, the lighting/fire effects didnt fit at all most of the time imo. Maybe they'll put out a DVD and it works better if seen from there, they filmed the entire live with several cameras. Miyako seemed like a support member to me. Oh btw they played an intro song (no vocals) not mentioned in the setlist at twitter. Wonder where they go from here. Too sucessful to disband, but who knows. SaZ seems busy producing other bands like RAINDIA and i guess DAMY, BUK BUK and all these other so called copys. (Edit: Was talking about the oneman at Zepp in June.)

Did you check Schmelz Cure? Especially their last mini 01. 祈烏の眼 (no link) or 03. Reborn (yt) came to my mind reading your description/comparsion with the It song. Also some gaudie. songs could fit too..

No Dir en grey - Grieva or Gazette - Gossip comparsions ? Maybe that wouldve been too obvious/too much. Ha;qch's Edict totally agree, the problem is i like it way more than the original. But didnt know it copied more than just Elder Mysantropy, didnt know the TBDM other songs. Heavy parts in the low chord region going up to typically 8 followed by 7 power chord. Its so common it already feels necessary to me and if its missing some songs feel uncomplete (latest e.g. ARCHEMIs 崇拝 has the typically 0-1-3 stuff going on but misses the 8-7, which makes me feel something is missing listening to the song). VK is so predictable since few (a lot?) of years, listening to a new song the first time i feel like i can already tell the next riff before its even coming. Just a handful of bands makes an exception to that.

Problem is the community itself just cant work i feel (on one side people with no clue of the band (meaning never seeing them live/instore event, discussing with elitism like people due to the distance of availability).. 2. Please give a link i didnt mention. Link me to that news site that posts news first, just minutes after they are announced live and maybe even the only time ever mentioned online like trombe did. Would be happy.

Sorry but I feel community as in the people/trolls/mods liked/known around here, not 90% of the actual visitors. _ He posted news not avaible on twitter, vkdb, visunavi, visulog, etc. Infos about live distr. CDs you NEVER could've found out about except you check 2ch or stalk auctions 24/7. I dont know how he knows this by going the lives himself and instantly posting what the vocalist just gave only by voice as information and which was never written anywhere else EXCEPT maybe 2ch. So good luck not only learning japanese, but also that slang used on 2ch to get infos about obscure small bands. Might also go and piss off YNS and numetal and your dl section is dead aka Nr.1 reason next to news section. Will the handful of people caring/reading the other stuff done by mods here then? (I cant tell anything what mods/admins do in the background noone notices, here i feel/guess they always did an amazing job, but the written contributions, reviews..haha) Beeing a member since day 1 or 2 of this forum idk 8 years ago(?) im interested where this will go now. Dont quote me but as far as i understand - The show walked around Shibuya, met a guy with injured leg (Izumi were falling over a garbage can on stage), he explained he went to Tokyo after graduating university 8 yrs ago (hes 30 and from Kagawa) and plays in a vk band. They then walk together to his room in Nakano which is super small/cheap. He says he earns around 40k yen from part time (dont know how much extra from vk), doesnt have a shower/washes in "kitchen"-sink, plays piano since kid, dreams to play in budokan, etc.

Btw the guy in the middle is comedian なかやまきんに君. Fits to Sibile to make a show with him but i start to wonder/understand now the whole band AvelCain was just an inside joke. Like the super bad live performances, horrible/non existing skill and fake promoted image? Just noone got the joke! I know his well liked status but he has always been the problem in envy for me... every "screamed (?) melody" sounds same for me. Always like da-da-da... da-da-da... All of envys songs are amazing and ruined as soon as he changes from whispering to harsh vocals. Sucks for their/his fans, but it would be amazing to see where the band goes from now. Hope its just some musical differences motives and nothing "serious" and hes fine tho.

I think there are quite more examples like some songs from Ha;qch (e.g. their "cover"/copy of TBDM's Elder Mysantrophy), 闇撫, etc.. This band is just brutal for the purpose of being brutal and lost the music feeling for that. Fact is, most of you wouldnt care for this band if they a ) wouldnt look vk b ) didnt come from japan. Their music is generic at best but hey, they try to add something new (meaning taking something old in other genres) to vk. I was suprised noone in vk did this in 2010 when every other wannabe core band had these retarded boring breakdowns.

The size of the audience is quite big. Bands you people here think are famous often play in front of 0-6 people. Of course always depends the time, day and venue but most of all those bands are just bad live and therefore have no audience.

The exact opposite is the case. The opening riffage was the peak of the album for me and the only thing remaining in my head after the first listen. I would even say this simple roughly 15 sec were the best in any vk song 2016 so far. Here they had a chance to write a 10/10 song but ended up changing into your "average" awesome Gyaro song. Sidenote: One of the only vk bands (if not the only one) worth visiting live. I was suprised they seem to be less known here?

As much as i liked them, this had to happen sooner or later. What is a band that cant write their own songs and cant play/sing songs written for them live? For that they were too sucessful. Just hope their management/eve finds some other random guys to replace them with a similiar atmosphere band and a less arrogant/fake despressive frontguy.

UNVOID sounded exactly like 焔 with just slightly different (weaker) vocals (but same background singing/growling from 憂佑). Melancholic songs but also faster/heavy ones, they even played old 焔 songs live. I think 憂佑 does all the arrangements/songs, so i think this is just 焔 2.0 and i love it. Im glad they didnt follow the trend and change their sound to be like those horrible bad bands dominating the scene these days where everyone cares the look but musically everything sounds the same. 憂佑 is one of these few guitarist really having their own sound in vk/jrock besides the likes of aie (the god and death stars), uta (sukekiyo), 依織 (femme fatale), クマ (リムキャット), サトシ (Lycaon), yuya (Develop One's Faculties), 6 (DI3SIRAE).. otherwise there arent any outstanding/unique guitarists i feel. Also, I always wondered 憂佑 works at 浦和ナルシス/ZMF, he has such a deep connection to it at least. They seem to be just part time/hobby musicians these days i think. At UNVOIDs live everyone (fangirls) just seems to care for him. It was like him + whatever other bandmember. カユキ seems like his old highschool friend/brother or something, they just fit perfectly. Really looking forward to it. I was shocked to remember its already 6 years since their disbanding. [enver] brain was also the name of the first session after their disbandment which was said to be a real band but never became, until now 6 years later.

One of the first DEZERT CDs has a song which is nearly entirely a copy of one D'espa song, idk it was Garnet or BORN or something. Otherwise many people back in the day saw BERLIN as a bad copy (bad yes, but copy idk). Old exist†trace around Annunciation -The Heretic Elegy- or even before that (their demos might be gothicy?) might work for you too. I search something like old 蜉蝣 (Kagerou) 2000-2003 like Biological Slicer, 発狂逆立ちオナニスト, 自家製フルコース, 蜉蝣.. My thoughts circle around サリー (Sally) or these days シビレバシル (Sibilebashir) so far. グリーヴァ (Grieva) has some crazy singing too but instrumentally they are too different. Some recommendations?

As INTO THE GREAT BEYOND is probably my most listened album of 2011/2012 i listened to it again thanks to your list Such a great album. After their first vocalist left CRYSTAL LAKE became totally boring for me, as they lost what made them stand out, his raw voice. AvelCain - 死化粧 Having just songs on my phone that i like makes me like all songs. killie songs top them tho as they've probl. took more thoughts into each of them as the other 7 bands combined with the artistic masterpiece that is 脳死が俺の側に ("Soon, braindead will come to me").
