Went to see Protest The Hero at SOMA back in November for their new album headlining tour. It was a killer show, with some very good support bands from Affiance, The Kindred, and Architects. Rody had some very funny MC moments in between their setlist

So the SHINING is going to have a remake of TSUBASA and Jelly fish? Would have loved to see a Cross Game remake. I want a preview for from KURAYAMI now
  3. Augie1995

That chorus is certainly different but I'm liking that riff that the preview ends with
  4. Augie1995

Is it traditional for the drummers to always look upset during songs like these? It's kind of like they're depressed they're only using a fraction of their usual drumset line-up Both previews are sounding real good, loving Butterfly Dreamer more than You though

Damn, they have gotten so much better than they previously were. Everything's been going uphill since they went Major. I love that little acoustic melody that flawlessy mixed in and Jun's twang-y/jazzy section. Looking forward to this single, although I feel like this song would have gone much better with their The 5 album as opposed to "i sing for you" and "suki"

fucking yes! 1,000,000 times yes. That is, to date, my most overplayed, beloved, non-stop ballad of all time

I definitely get some cosmic world vibe after listening to the full song (the full PV was uploaded by a user on YouTube). Loving the instrumentation and Shou 's vocals were on point aside from the verse immediately after the first chorus. I felt it could have done with a bit more variety with the melody, but overall I'm really loving this song. Still have to wait a damn month to hear the b-sides. What the heck was that in place of the guitar solo? It was interesting and powerful to say the least

I knew it!! I was reading on twitter Tora talking about being done with mixing and then Shou mentioned something finalized with SHINING. I actually thought Tora was Hiroto and Hiroto was Tora. Really liking the chorus in this song even though the rest of the song is very Cosmic World. Probably my favorite chorus post-"9"

David Maxim Micic / BILO3.0: I really don't know what to say about this except that it just feels like something that I saw in a children's picture storybook and I love it... Either that or Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends or whatever that cartoon network show was haha. It connects to me on a younger level, plus the album is a compositional masterpiece with a great mixture of orchestral pieces, piano interludes, and some very melodic guitars. Scale The Summit / THE MIGRATION: Honestly, a friend of mine introduced me to these guys but I never paid much attention until I saw this artwork for their album a few months before it came out. The fact that all of their cover artworks (minus The COllective) have been of barren landscapes and then getting this lush creature made a huge impact on me. Also it fits with the theme organic that Letchford was going for with their music and the artwork fits that. Plus, I'm curious if that creature has a name. (Also, these guys are amazing, no guests vocalists, no djent, no dubstep crap, just pure unrivaled melodic tunes to take you upon a journey) MUSE / THE 2ND LAW: Basically all of their album covers hit strong and look awesome but this one just attracts me so much. Something about the way that it looks like an actual brain ( or at least the shape of) and the huge spectrum of colors that it's been painted with. I wish our brains would look that beautiful when we were in a creative process, exactly how I felt the band members brains would have looked like as they were creating this album. There's a reason these guys are a highly-regarded rock band, they just create some spectacular music and some delicious eye candy for you to look at as you enjoy their music Protest The Hero / VOLITION: This isn't the original artwork for the album but this is the special one that we croudfunders got for supporting the creation of the album (seeing as how the album was created using only the money that us fans gave the band in support of their next release). There's nothing to say other than the artwork is just stunning. I just love the brushwork even though this was done on computer and I love eveything about the outcome of this. Plus, seeing Dan Mumford creating this through a speed-through video uploaded by Luke Hoskin of Vimeo is mesmerizing to say the least. Serj Tankien / IMPERFECT HARMONIES: I just really love this artwork for his solo album. Serj Tankein has one of the most unique, yet odd voices and it's amde me fall in love since i heard SOAD's Question song. This artwork features some really cool duality going on (Especially since Serj is a very strong political speaker with his songs, just listen to Harakiri) with one side of the landscape being lush green plains with a sunny sky and the other side a cityscape destroyed, covered in a fog with a concrete road. Plus, the way his suit seems to be getting covered up by the blackness almost as if the human body is being corrupted. I'm getting to analytical about it but it's a really cool and strong image. (Another duality album cover I like is Alice Nine's GEMINI)
  11. The Courage To Take A Action is my new favorite FALILV song

Shouldn't all these posts be directed to the band's topic in the Artists section?
  13. No.... Periphery's new EP is too good. 2014 is set to be amazing. This is EP is the most creative idea, brought with the most varied songs, and with such intensity that I lost control for a good 30 minutes. Aside from their album and Intervals new album with a damn good vocalist, this is the best EP of the year no matter what

mmm, my opinion is...this weeeeeird style doesn't fit Periphery...my mind still kept in their "This Time It's Personal" lol. well, Periphery is a really progressive band that always stand in the front of "fashion of metal", though the new EP doesn't fit me, I'll still support them.

If I can drop my two cents here: The only Vk bands that can do heavy screams are(were): Hiro (Nokubura), Akane(D.I.D), Juri(DELUHI), and that's about it. As for non-VK, there are a lot of bands in the "metal" genre that really like to scream but I don't like it too much. I only like my heavy vocals to be used throughout the entire song when i'm listening to some deathcore, black metal, stuff like that (such as Humanity's Last Breath). When bands like Born of Osiris do heavy vocals in every single song throughout the whole length of their songs, even with a second vocalist doing an even higher pitched scream than the lead vocalist, I get annoyed. The one band that is an exception of such event is Between the Buried and Me and that's because in my eyes they are legends and the heavy vocals are none that I have heard before. Not only that, but BTBAM at least include some clean vocals and when Tommy Rogers brings in that clean voice of his, I melt... and the song gets exponentially better than it already was. However, I only really like heavy screams when they are done right, it doesn't matter if they're not the most professional heavy vocals (most of them sound better than all in the VK scene), as long as they're done right. Like in the band Monuments or Periphery, where they are filtered together with clean and heavy and each one makes an impact on the song with the duality of them both, that's when they're good. The one band that has to be preached is a recent band called Akeldama who just released their first debut album in the summer of 2013. The guys are chill and all and they like my posts on facebook, but that's besides the point. The heavy vocals are really good and well executed, but what makes them better is the fact that they're mixed in with clean vocals and since it's two vocalists, the contrast is huge. Andrew Zink, the one who does the clean vocals, has a majestic voice that hits the high notes almost as good as the man with the voice of a thousand angels, Ashe O'Hara. Mix those high, clean notes with some heavy vocals and you've got some contrasting sounds that work beyond belief. I read something that pissed me off. Those of us that have been around since the start or at least since the release of Season 2; we've had to wait the 1-2 years for Series 3 to come out and to find out what happens after the Reichenbach fall... But maybe a week, a month, or a year from now, someone is going to get into this series and they're going to get to the Reichenbach fall and they won't be able to wait to find out what happens next.... AND ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS CLICK "NEXT EPISODE" Update: Just watched the final episode.... I really don't want to watch TV anymore. I thought the Reichenbach fall was traumatic
  20. Augie1995

The guitars were on point in this song!!! I just want to go ahead and say that UNiTE and Daizystripper are the only vkei bands that have yet to release a CD that has disappointed me, and this album doesn't seem like it's going to change that. Can't wait for this to come out in 9 days
  21. Augie1995

The fact that it's HERESY only means that we might not see footage but we should never put it beneath the GazettE to release a DVD for the monayz!
  22. Augie1995

Watch this end up being their more appealing song single of the bunch
  23. Augie1995

    Yep, waiting for this now
