Royz because I deadass came in here expecting the song posted in the OP to be underwhelming (like a lot of the stuff i checked out from them). And it easily surpasses anything Mejibray has been pushing out recently.
 
Jk. I do like the song though but I'll give it to Mejibray. I still believe that they are a huge waste of space 98 percent of the time but...........
 
They have some exceptional songs that I must give them credit for.

I like this. Gallows was very well done as well as EXODUS. I also really like that they're using the Drop A# tuning now. Very stoked to see how this will play out. They seem to really not take too many breaks these days though. I really hoped that after Gallows, they'd slow down a bit :<

They have everything right, they look pretty awesome, they have a high quality music video and they have recorded the song in a proper studio. The song just isn't that great.
 
DiVOID is still my favorite. Their songs are awesome, and they did it with basically a zero budget and probably recorded it at home too. 

While I do enjoy the song, I have to agree with Pretzy and Will...at least for now. This song, at the end of the day is really nothing fresh. Its just rehashed ideas from old songs and theres some really nice backing tracks added. This has DIM vibes written all over it. I am hoping this is just one song that this applies to. I get that the consensus here is that DIM is their best work and that people enjoy it. The band probably realizes this as well. There is nothing wrong with building from that, which i hope they do. What I will not accept is a DIM 2.0. That's literally back tracking just to please the fans and shows that they can't evolve past that peak...
 
Ruki has been talking hella big game on his instagram and Twitter accounts so I really hope DOGMA is a next step for the band. 

I think the band forgot that there are two ways on "getting back to the roots/loved era":
 
1) retaining some ideas from the past, while leaving enough room for new, fresh ideas and concepts
 
2) Doing the same shit all over again for the sake of pleasing DIM fanboys/girls
 
I don't want to be a party pooper but the probability of them doing the latter is way too high. Could someone please pinpoint a few examples from their post-DIM era where they actually bothered to churn out something *fresh* (or "out of their book", a.k.a. definitely not INSIDE BEAST)? The biggest flaw in the said era is Ruki's stagnant writing w/ ideas that would have deserved a better turnout - as a case in point (thank you Stallion for reminding me): Untitled - Dripping Insanity - Last Heaven: SAME KEYS, ALMOST IDENTICAL CHORUS MELODIES, VERSE STRUCTURE...and no one emphasized this issue earlier?!
 
Back to the topic: the problem mentioned above concerns this live song as well - I find spazzing over an amalgamation of LEECH and Ibitsu quite silly, so to speak.

I feel like this tries to simplify harmony too much. Yes, in Western harmony there are 7 notes in a key; but what distinguishes a work like Bach's 2nd Brandenburg Concerto (in F) to something like Neutral Milk Hotel's King of Carrot Flowers (also in F) are all of the other components in music other than just the notes. Timbre, rhythm, orchestration, tempo, and to a lesser degree time signature all go into the crafting of a piece of music whether you're the pinnacle of Western writing (Bach) or you're a medicore guitarist and singer (Jeff Mangum from Neutral Milk Hotel). The issue, is the GazettE often find themselves never leaving a specific key due to convenience (can't include open chugging riffs to the same effect if you're in a different key, something the GazettE can't resist), and rehashing the same ideas found in the chorus (typically one chord per measure), intros, and breakdowns mainly in terms of rhythm. If it's a song that features a quicker tempo, there's a very good chance chugging guitars open the track with a synth laid over the top of it in the GazettE's current style. Once the chorus hits, the band sustains one chord as Ruki's voice ascends for two measures, then goes back down. After the chorus you're probably going to find the intro restated, which will lead you back to the same verse as before. Wash, rinse, and repeat.

There's a Different Sense unplugged?!

That is a poor analogy to say the least mainly because what you're arguing, or trying to say, isn't inherently clear. First you made vague references to what I mentioned in my first post (visual aesthetic = success). Afterwards, you mention Sony not being a profitable company in Entertainment (something you have yet to provide relevant evidence for outside of TV sales). Next, you get into this bizarre conspiracy theory about how it goes all the way up to the government who fund Sony. Then you dive into "research and development" which you never made clear what you were referencing in the first place.
 
Ok...for the sake of any readers and the coherency of your argument, it sounds like you're making a (poorly worded) argument that revolves around these premises: 1. Sony is not profitable in Entertainment, and 2. the Government ultimately decides Sony's business ventures (or something...you were pretty vague on this). Framed like this, I can kind of see what you're trying to say. Would it be an accurate assessment to say your argument is about how the government wants Sony to be profitable, so they are putting pressure on them to remove themselves from the Entertainment sector / reduce the scope of their Entertainment business? This I imagine would fall in line with what you said about Dir en grey maybe focusing on European and Japanese tours to reduce costs; but that is no more than a blatantly stupid conspiracy theory which I have no doubt came from a place like Tumblr / any Dir en grey community that enjoys circle jerking over the most bizarre and detached-from-reality gossip.
 
Also, you completely miss the point when you said I'm talking about "product value". I'm not arguing the "value" of a product, I'm arguing marketing (and lackthereof) towards a given product. When discussing a band, the concept of "product value" is useless because it's directly related to fan support: the amount of fans and the amount they spend determines a band's "value".

inform me on how wrong my wrong opinion is. Eiki is Mejibray's second and last single in their 2 month single consecutive release. Seeing it's recent reception among the forum I felt it was necessary to write this review. As all my other shitty reveiw's go, post your opinion below and inform me on how wrong my wrong opinion is. lol
We'll start with Eiki itself and it's PV.
1.) 盈虧
As being the title track aswell as the PV track eiki is the Second track of this single. (Obviously that much you know, you aren't fucking retarded like me~) This track was uploaded to youtube before it's release just like it's older brother Nepenthes. This track went absolutely nowhere for me and it proves alot of perceptions I have about Mejibray and they way their aesthetic functions. This track although, something new tired by Mejibray impressed me not in the slightest. I was actually quite put off by the blandness and boredom the track gave me. As I said before do not get me wrong I do love Mejibray they just have fallen far from what they used to be, they are such as a roller-coaster, they have high and low points, loop de loops and a part where they pause and do it over and over again. As for the PV all I have to say that it was sprinkled with Mejibray's main spice, the visuals. What with Tsuzuku's pole dancing, to the Enviornment, to the Nicki Minaj looking drag queen's he had by his side.

2.)人間
Ningen, being the first track was pretty....pretty ugly. Another one of Mejibray's slow generic track where it sounds like Tsu is trying too hard be to sexual with his ehhhh and ahhhh's.
AND THEN THERES TSUZUKU's CHUGGALUG AND THEN IM LIKE LMAO. I'm greeted by a bunch of indistinguishable chugging, and then between it comes Tsu's harmonic voice, the second time around it's stale like old doritos. and then theres that slow "br00741" break down with more chugging to follow. Then Tsu busts in with AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. And it's just at this point where I wanted to tell him to please shut up, but y'know he cant hear me so yeah. This tack was short and bad, like a rabid dog.

3.) 蜈蚣
LMAO WTF IS THIS? Holy shit Mukade was a side splitter, I couldn't stop laughing while listing to this, it brought me to tears. omg. The Chugging needs serious work,the song is nothing but chugging and whispers, like really mejibray? Really? I know that they could do A WHOLE lot better, just look a At Nepenthes. They have potential they just don't know how to fucking use it. I don't understand why they keep holding back, I dont understand. Like sonic say's "C'MON STEP IT UP".

What's frustrating is that, despite how trash I think Mejibray is, I do believe that if they actually tried, they could be a great band. There are a handful of past songs that I think are exceptional but other than that, its typical copy paste, bland VK. I do agree with Aferni's status and believe that at this point, Mejibray knows how popular they are, based on primarily their looks. It seems as if they're going to ride this wave until they actually decide to make some damn good music or disband.

I actually like it. And chances are due to how many fans in the US don't really check for their newer stuff, the NA setlists will be more varied. A lil bit of everything. Kind of sucks tbh....
 
Id love 2 see a full blown ARCHE filled set like Japan when they come around here again.
