kurenaishineek got a reaction from Nisimaldar in Girugamesh - Gravitation
They are not j-core , j-core is techno , its a japanese version of hardcore trance . Girgamesh new style is a mix of alternative metal riffs and drums , with modern rock elements and melodies . Also screamo is a hardcore punk subgenre , so no its far from that .
Also DarkWater you forgetting some big things here ,
1st they are not visual kei anymore so saying where are the vk elements is kinda out of place .
2nd they a mainstream rock band , so getting pop elements in their music is standard , and should be expected .
3rd There is no such thing as real rock , its just something made up by ppl who want all rock bands to sound as they think true rock should sound , but there are many rock subgenres .
4th metal can be soft as well , melodic power metal bands sometimes are not even tagged by ppl as metal cause they dont sound that metal , there are also bands who play atmospheric symphonic metal that are also tagges as rock . Also if you would think about oldschool heavy metal that could be what you mean by true metal , than you would notice that it was a lot more softer than todays heavy metal , sounding more like todays hard rock bands .
    Otherwise , good review .
Maybe ill write my own review later , when i get the ones for the fanzine done and will have some spare time .

You are right, there should be some more rules - I'll post it here and ask a mod to edit the OP.

    01. I prefer this topic to move at somewhat fast pace, so let's say two full days since posting is max period of leaving your solo here unguessed.
    02. When you post the next solo, you shouldn't give any hints from the get-go and give it one day. After that, if we're still struggling with it, you can hint as much as you want, if you think it's needed.
    03. Sound samples can not include vocal parts (well, maybe some very minor ones, if they're interlacing with a solo)
    04. You can repeat a band that was here already - if you really want to - but let's try to be as diversive as we can.
    05. Vk, metal, anime opening - anything goes, as long as it's Japan-related.
    06. It doesn't really have to be a guitar solo!
    07. If you won and don't want to post the next solo yourself, drop me a PM and I'll do it for you.
    08. If, after two days, your solo still isn't guessed, just name the full song and let me know - I'll post the next one.
    09. The preferred service for uploading solos is Soundcloud, as I think no one has any trouble using it. If you have a better idea, let me know.
    10. If I'm not responding when I should in a reasonable timeframe, I'm probably dead and I pass my duties to any mod willing to do this.

And kurenaishineek, you probably don't know me, as the only other forum I'm somewhat active on right now is NeoGAF I'm not on any polish ones. Well, maybe I visited them once or twice but I haven't posted much or stayed for long. I was a regular at Frukto's jmusic site back when it was still a thing, though - if you're old enough to remember that And this idea isn't from any other topic from somewhere else, but I'm not suprised I'm not the first person to think about something like this.

@Hiroki : there are a lot more of ballads from ZARD you could post , Izumi wrote so many beautiful and memorable ballads , the one ive posted was the first song from the first album that was also the first song ive heard from ZARD and made me fall in love with that band . Also from what ive read the suicide part is more like a theory with no solid evidence . No matter i miss her anyway , only the complete collection of all her works is whats left and the sadness and emptiness of something thats gone now .

^ Nicer than ABC's cover of it.

I also like ZARD but kurenaishineek has already posted a great ZARD song. Still terribly upset at her death (even today I refuse to believe it was suicide).

And finally, kinda cheating with this cuz it was released at the turn of the century (2000 I believe) and it's only a ballad within a rather liberal definition of rock ballads. Nonetheless, it's hands down one of my all-time favorite songs so pardon me for sticking it here:

^ Btw this was written when they were 16 or 17 (can't rmb offhand). Which was just as well cuz it captures coming-of-age in such a beautiful way that if it were written at any other age it would never have been so emblematic of late adolescence and all of its attendant nostalgic motifs.

Why i love it? Maybe the wonderful instrumentals that made this band unique in its genre or His Excellency Demon Kogure's incredible voice (noticing that he sings a ballad with a sword in his hand )

Anyways, I have curiosity for this new single. Lets see if it comes out better than their last album. I also wish their guitarist a speedy recovery. I really never thought Guitarists of anyone could suffer from injuries such as this. You learn something new everyday.

If you dont like using genres than dont use them but dont tell others how they should view or describe the bands they like , the genres where made for something not just out of boredom . For now as i see im always the bad guy here when you all always do the same stuff telling me how should i describe a band and what to say and what not . Seriously this is the only forum about music im on that is that close minded and trys jumps always on the ones who use genres to label music , thanks im seriously thinking lately of going back into the shadows and just leeching the music .

kurenaishineek reacted to Jigsaw9 in DEATHGAZE - ENIGMA
Painfully obvious DEATHGAZE wrote and recorded a painfully obvious DEATHGAZE album yet again. Almost literally the only standout tracks are those of previous singles: DEAD BLAZE has such top-notch energy and aggression that I'm even able to forgive Typical Desugaze Chorus #3445, while THE UNDERWORLD is quite beautiful and elegant in its gothy-ness and provides a bit of well-deserved fresh air among the stale surroundings. Opening song ENIGMA manages to ignite a spark too (that distorted-to-hell-and-back bass is a nice touch btw!) but ultimately falls prey to its own idiotic repetitiveness. Otherwise a fitting starter. Other worthwhile moments include SADISTIC SMILE and FEAR, neither of whom I can remember anything except for digging them upon listening. The rest either couldn't even elicit a reaction from me or sounded atrocious (lookin' at you, READY GO a.k.a. obligatory ending-on-a-happy-and-genki-note song). All in all, it's good for what it is but I doubt I'll recall any melody or riff, say, tomorrow. xD

Seriously cause the post part is important cause they are two different genres , did you ever compare any britpop to post britpop? probably not thats cause you do your shittalk like all the trolls , if you dont know anything bout genres and dont have any thing helpful top say than shut up . of course you want do this , cause this is another topic you can spam and up your post counter to show how awesome you are .
But you are that bunch of troll kids who find it amusing to just go to youtube open a song of an artist they hate and spam with flame .
BTW @ Tokage , yeah see if you would not get here to shit talk but with some brain you would be more useful , i found one band myself , they are called weaver and play post-britpop and piano rock .
Sorry i forgot the general forum part on this forum is dominated with troll kid answers with shit talk and unreleated crap .
Lets close this topic before it turns into spam flame war , it seems asking on this forum for any music related help is like saying "Hey troll come and get me" .

3 Hours of work for one CD ? Man if i would have that great , my payment is not really the lowest in my country yet to buy a japanese CD i would need a good 10 days of working for 8 hours a day to afford at least one CD+shipping cost . Some bands like Crossfaith released their CD in europe and its cheaper yet it still is a good 2 days each 8 hours of work to afford that one . Not to mention , the bands get only a small percent of that price .

lol that is because that practice of "try all the songs before you buy" is a newer one. I am assuming, with the insistence of Japan to still be CD driven, the intent for you to buy the whole thing is to get access to all its songs. I used to get burned by terrible releases before this internet sharing thing, I had to eat the reality of working 3hrs (8dollars/hr) was for nothing.

I get your point though, it does makes sense.

kurenaishineek reacted to Zeus in NEMETH - Creature
Artist: NEMETH Album: Creature Score: Generic sentence for a generic release.
Everyone can thank paradoxal for this review. While in the chat, she suggested I try this out if I were in the neighborhood for something new. The most apparent thing from this experiment is how different my music taste is from the average visual kei fan. So, if you don't find yourself always agreeing with how I feel about these types of bands remember that I'm in a different place musically than most MHites.

I'm not going to whitewash anything: brutal kei is not my thing. Never has been and never will be. This is overly aggressive visual kei with a twist: there are some ideas here and there. I'll mention a few in this review. In between "here" and "there" is a lot of nothing interesting and a vocalist attempting to recreate sounds outside of his vocal range. His clean vocals are a little flat but he can harmonize and will improve with some practice. On the flip side, he's going to destroy his vocal chords if his vocal fry technique doesn't improve. Harsh vocals are not good by virtue of wrangling out any sounds possible and visual kei bands need to stop doing this. It never sounds good and never sounds like how it should. There's training that he must go through to achieve the power and technique missing in his delivery. So I'll just make a blanket statement now that every single attempt at sounding brutal on this mini fails. Charles Lee Ray II and Ellie in particular sound like a mess featuring lots of badly juxtaposed elements.

So that leaves us with three songs worth talking about and those three songs don't suck as much. The compositional formula is nothing new: aggressive verses into lighter choruses. NEMETH doesn't do anything wrong with it. The riffs are nothing special. I caught one reminiscent of G (Luna Sea)/Unknown...despair...a lost (Diru)/S.I.N. (-OZ-), so use that as a benchmark of "riff variety". Beautiful Distortion features some ideas where they switch it up with an attempt at polyrythmic riffing (note: they didn't actually nail it). I'll give them points there for trying. But much too often, there's just slow breakdowns, bad harsh vocals, and nothing in between. There was not a single solo or progression outside verse-chorus-breakdown interchange. An upside to this mini being short is that none of these songs drag on. If they were any longer all the songs would suffer for it.

Lackluster production for an indie band shouldn't be a surprise. I do want to mention the prioritization on heaviness over power. Metalcore works best when there is power and energy behind the music to deliver that rush. That power is not present here. The guitars have more weight to them than they should and while the bassist manages to poke through here and there with some interesting lines the bass pedal and most of the drummer is muffled. His omnipresent cymbal riding, which borders on abusive, is his only claim to fame. He has some moments like at the beginning of Curse and Beautiful Distortion where he is actually audible, but balancing in the mix is required. Not having a budget is one thing. Not having any balance is another.

At the end of the day, if this is the best that heavy visual kei band have to offer for me count me out. Another dime a dozen band that doesn't sound too bad but won't be going anywhere. If you like music like I've described, this is another solid metalcore release for you. But I'm positive that even within this scene there are other bands that do this sound better.

You're missing the point here. The reason why this would come in handy is because it would force blogspot owners to reupload the files, which:

Keeps files online longer. If the link dies on one source, there will always be plenty of other sources where you'll be able to get it. It makes it more difficult to find the original source as well, which is safer for the uploader considering the enormous piracy hunt the US government is planning to go on. Plus it makes the file easier to access. Takes away traffic from the original uploader. I remember sugibo suddenly had incredibly high traffic when they uploaded DIVISION and not even a week later the file was deleted by mediafire, not one blog reuploaded it, file gone from the net forever. Forces the blog owners to do some more work on their blog. People who ask not to have their link reposted but reuploaded instead will be helped a great deal by this. Also let's face it; blog owners are really lazy in general. They don't even take the effort to spend 5 minutes to reupload something if the original uploader requested them to do so.

Finding a solution for everyone is going to be really difficult, because we've tried A LOT of methods to stop reposting and none of them worked. I'm not saying it is impossible and that we shouldn't try, but there are a lot of different uploaders with a lot of different preferences. Having Draconian measures is only going to be counterproductive because as Champ already stated, why bother going over all these hurdles here if they can get it with a single click of their mouse on a blogspot? It will take potential users away. I was a leecher once and I became active only after about 2 months, just like CAT5 was an original leecher as well. We can't take away the possibility that these people might become active after all. Besides, every uploader is different. People who want their stuff reuploaded and are pissed off by blogspots not doing so will find the encrypter a really nice solution, people who don't want their stuff reposted at all will not stop until there is a police-like brigade on this website that will kick out anyone who is even slightly linked to a blogspot.

And Magatsu, you can keep playing this "you're wrong, I'm right"-game but it isn't going to solve the problem. Whether these rules are acceptable are not depends on the type of uploader you are. If more people backed your ideas then we could give it some serious thought, but constantly being difficult because we're not doing it the way you want is not going to help this problem at all.

edit: I think changing the rule to what Champ just proposed is nicely put and keeps it flexible for both uploaders and staff members. I've always been a fan of flexible rules when it comes to the DL section because it gives both the uploaders more space and the staff can act out easier.

Damn i wrote so much that i wanted to say but my PC had to go into the Blue screen of doom . So i have to wited it again but most of it ive already forgotten .
1.I did not write this topic in disrespect to the stuff , in the contrary i treat this forum as my second home and the active users as my familly . But i just wanted to see what oters think about and what was already tested .
2.Im reposting as well but as some ppl might already see im doing this from 2 sites (Alterportal and Getmetal) and mostly from 1 or 2 uploaders that i know and that are asked for permission.
3.The point i wanted to make clear here is that i dont post for any gratitude and crap like that , but i love to see the reaction of ppl that i present with some new or rare stuff i found . So i dont mind if there are no thanks posts , on the other hand i would love to see at least some more replies from the ppl who download on how they feel about the band/album and how did the like it , or did they find it boring ? Also i think that was the point of creating the like button , or am i wrong on this one ?
4.The idea of somethink like ASTOST has is not that bad , i mean come on how many times did you see reposts from ASTOST ? Me ? I did not see any . I saw files being reuploaded from ASTOST mostly on DoujinStyle , but always with credits to the site and uploaders , maybe its cause its mega hard to download anything there and that makes ppl think twice about reposting after they got they hands on some rare stuff for a lot of "notes"(or how was they virtual money called)
5.I dont mean to pressure the forum staff on hunting the leechers , i just wanted to have a little more inview on the situation from the standing point of admins and/or mods .
6.The google drive idea would not be so bad but i think it goes against the rules of "NO MH EXCLUSIVE" .
7.Original Saku said "We are a discussion forum first and foremost" , but i ask you my friend is what im saying here not contradicting the forum part ? Download section or not , but i thought the download section was also created FOR DISCUSSION not only to leech , cause if you want to leech you can go to SOOOOO many sites . Am i wrong in saying that i am more interested in downloading from this forum just to say a word or two about the band and maybe get into a friendly conversation about the posted album/single/demo , than download it from a crappy blog where no one cares and all leech only ? Again no disrespect to you .
