CAT5 got a reaction from Manabu in Artists you wish had alter-egos
cinema staff needs a band where they just play straight-up hardcore/emo with some mathy shit thrown in. I mean, these guys have made these influences VERY clear in their music, but they've never gone all-out...always keeping things accessible and poppy. That said, they have the musical chops to MELT FACES if they wanted to!

TK from ling tosite sigure needs an alter ego project where he just sticks to composing and producing, and features guest vocalists or just has one permanent vocalist THAT CAN ACTUALLY SING. Don't get me wrong, I love TK to death, but this nigga is NOT a singer. He's a brilliant composer and a GENIUS musician, but he ain't a singer. His singing can be palatable enough in his more upbeat and faster paced stuff - amidst a flurry of orchestration, sick guitar riffs and electronic wizardry, but his voice really shines IN THE WORSE WAY POSSIBLE in his slower, more ballad-y material. ugh

As the title suggests, what are some artists you wish had alter-ego groups? As well as that
What genre of music would they play? What would their name be? Would members swap instruments? Would it even have all the same members?
My first pick would be 'Develop One's Faculties' under the guise of 'Undeveloped Facilities'. They would play a pretty raw and heavy mix of punk/metal, I'd keep the members the same given Yuuya knows how to shout/scream decently and Johannes is one hell of a drummer

I'm not sure this can even be called Engrish. I think sheena made up her own language but it still slaps.

When Kyo said "Fucker Fucker Radical Fucker Trans Psycho Pleasure", I felt that 😭

9rue1 au5ocracy by Insanity Injection [got taken down from YT and Spotify, might have to upload my own]; I had no clue the lyrics where in English until I was bored one day and looked them up but the song fucking slams so hard. Kyouka could sing a recipe for making vanilla bean cupcakes and shit would still slam.

I know a lot of people don't like S-CONCIOUS but I will defend it to hell and back ✊😤It's an interesting take on industrial/noise but I appreciate it. Also the Engrish is just 👌
And if I'm mentioning MM Engrish, it would be an absolute crime to not mention the Holy Grail of Engrish; plagiarised English lyrics. In Après midi E-Style, which is a slightly stripped back and retooled English version of the original Après mid (which was in Japanese) Gackt literally just copy-pasted lyrics from the first verse of Mariah Carey's "When I Saw You" and added them into the song. Ngl that's kind of a chad move considering that Mariah's team would never hear this so he wouldn't get sued and the song's so good I wouldn't mind pitching in a twenty to Gackt's legal case if that ever happens

    "SIXTY NINE

I always enjoy Kamijo singing in English regardless of the song.

Versailles - Love will be born again

Initially, I had no idea Ruki was singing mostly in English for this one, but I still loved it. That bass in the beginning is great and I'm a sucker for jazzy-esque songs.

Forgot one of my favourite examples. FABLED NUMBER's "YES" is such a fun song, despite the hilarious lyrics.

Correction is love, but so many people these days are so spiritually weak and have such fragile egos that they cannot tell the difference between when someone is trying to help them and when someone is genuinely attacking them. Some people even confuse me speaking with authority as me speaking "harshly". smh

I've been experiencing this a lot lately, especially in regards to younger men and even some men my age. It's honestly pretty irritating.

I've only been on this earth a short 33 years, but so much has changed since I was a kid. I mean, shit...i'm just a nerdy-ass weeb - never been your stereotypical "tough guy" or thug type, but I never been a bitch either. So it's definitely a curious thing to witness the rampant lack of heart I'm seeing today.

If you have a bazaar nearby where you're at then I suggest just going for that. When I get back home I'm now on just going to buy most if not all my foodstuffs from old ladies selling things from the back of their truck rather than from some oligarchic market chain fuck that shit. One thing I've actually learned about myself is that I'm not anti-social or introverted, it's just that this bullshit dehumanising society pushed me into thinking I was one. I actually really like small talking with vendors just like I liked talking with customers when I was working in a bar no matter how stupid they are, which I would have never expected when I spent like 25 years avoiding the looks from neighbors and other people in transport. It's just a different, more humane environment where you can be how you are and you're in no rush to get anywhere to slave away for someone else's profit.

Personally, I just feel waaaaaay better putting money in ppl's hand's directly for their services rather than going through some disembodied corporation or buying shit from some major chain. Feels a lot more natural.

If you're like me, you probably loathe the sound of Engrish in Japanese music and wonder why the Japanese would rather forsake their own beautiful language in exchange for absolutely butchering (in most cases) another. Others may find it comedic or even endearing.

HOWEVER. This thread isn't about the actual lyrics (we have threads for that). This thread is about songs that still sound great, despite being entirely (or almost entirely) in Engrish.

One of my favorite SADS songs from my favorite SADS album. The main riff (and perhaps SADS in general) sounds cliche as hell, but this shit still sounds tough as fuck. Plus Kiyoharu's vocals have always been great, so this one gets a definite pass on the Engrish.

Taka's Engrish is actually....really....REALLY, REALLY bad But that main guitar riff mixed with the synth, and THAT BEAT!!? CATCHY AS FUCK! You can't tell me this shit don't jam!!!!

Yall don't know nothin 'bout MY WAY MY LOVE, but these guys always had some weird, off-kilter shit going on that, for the most part, kept them in their own lane. Most of their songs are in Engrrish, but dude usually delivers it in a pretty unique and palatable manner. DOPE.

I feel like i'm kinda cheating by including Lillies and Remains because literally all of their songs are in Engrish. Kent's singing isn't entirely intelligible, but these guys are such a high quality band that you could care less about it.
