I was so done when I was this scene lol... I'm on ep 78 of HxH now. I've really been enjoying it a lot so far...certainly one of the more impressive shounens I've seen

Gara's voice/incessant vibrato annoyed the hell out of me the first few times I tried MERRY back in the day, but they eventually won me over. I wouldn't count them among my favorites, but I definitely consider them one of the most noteworthy j-rock bands around (although a bit less so in recent times). Would really like to see them live one day.

They should change their name to Nocturnal Butthurt tbh

The point is that good things can definitely come from piracy, although obviously not always to that degree. You never know who might hear your music or what opportunities may come your way from the additional exposure.

I agree with what nekkichi was hinting at...They simply need to update their strategy and adapt to the times. Hell, the entire music industry does. Piracy isn't going anywhere - whenever you find a way to stop it, pirates will find another way around it - that's how it's always been and it's useless to fight against the vicious cycle. So I think artists/bands need to find ways to make piracy work to their advantage. It's a very optimistic approach, but it's also a realistic one because it doesn't allow something as inevitable and immovable as piracy to hinder success. There are Japanese indie bands touring Canada right now. Why? Because of piracy. In fact, had I not bought uchuu combini's mini album and shared it with my friends (aka pirated their album), they would not be touring Canada right now. Why? Because one of my online friends just happens to be a rich dude who's passionate enough about Japanese indie to pay for/host entire tours out of his own pocket. Granted, most instances of piracy are not as serendipitous as this one. But I also think it's completely useless to lament the cons of piracy, as you'll simply limit yourself in the long-run. It's much more effective to focus on solutions rather than problems.

Speaking of things being too easy....I was kinda getting annoyed at how easy things have been for Killua in HxH...but I'm happy to see that this has changed (or is changing) ever since he encounted that Zushi kid and how he was pretty helpless to do anything as Hisoka blocked his way in heaven's arena. I guess they're supposed to be learning "nen" on the next episode, so I have a feeling that he'll be facing some real challenges from here on out Though despite my annoyance, it's great to see a supporting Character like Killua actually be stronger than the main, MAIN character. Gon actually having to depend on his friends, while his friends depend on him too...it's such a refreshing dynamic (and one DBZ got extremely wrong...so many useless characters..UGH). It's tiring to see always see everything come down to the main protagonist...so it's cool/interesting that the stuff Gon has achieved thus far has come through interdependence rather than independence. I think I'm on ep. 29 - so I'm gonna knock a few more out before I hit the sack. I'm excited!

This tends to happen a lot, but it's not always the case. I definitely think going major has an effect on the music tho - be it for better or worse. Would you like to be in a committed relationship one day?

This is one of my favorite Gundam series, and one of the more "realistic" takes on the series...if you can even use that term lol

Making a bit of progress with Hunter x Hunter. I have to admit, it was very cool / refreshing to see a little black girl kicking ass...(i'll ignore the fact that she was a butler/bulter's apprentice tho lmao ) Still great to see. I never expect to see black ppl in anime....and honestly, why should there be? Expecting Japanese ppl to create black characters is a bit silly - but it always cool to see creators with a slightly more diverse outlook.
