  1. It's been 3 years since the last MH questionnaire, and I'm sure everyone has evolved a bit since then, so I figured it was time for another! This questionnaire has even more questions than the first, so I'm sure this will be even more interesting this time around! To maintain neatness, I implore you all to use the spoiler tags for your answers. Just copy the text in the spoiler below and get started! I shall post my answers a bit later!

I actually liked the "needless" deaths in certain Gundam series - I think it lent to the gravity of certain situations. With such large-scale wars being waged and so many weapons of mass destruction about, I think even the seemingly needless deaths were appropriate - even if they did't necessarily advance the plot. Fucked up shit happens in war. Granted, Tomino killed off a lot of characters out of mere depression lol (and not necessarily for the reasons I mentioned - but hey, war is depressing!) I steered pretty clear of AGE, 00 was entertaining for it was, but it could have been eons better (it was kinda like wing 2.0, but i'm still not sure which is cheesier LOL). SEED should have never happened LOL. My favorite Gundam since the late 80's/early 90's is Unicorn (mostly because i'm a U.C. nut lol). Since you two praise it so much, I may check it out sooner or later - even if I'm not too fond of comedic/light-hearted Gundam series. I guess I have a very strict notion of how I think gundam series should be (which is why I've been dissappointed by most post-80's gundam series), but I'll approach GBF with an open mind.
  8. "fuel" by PETROLZ is one of the best Japanese songs I've heard this year so far. I'm convinced now that Ukigumo was a much better fit for Tokyo Jihen than Mikio Hirama ever was.

Yes, I've actually been biased towards the first TJ lineup ever since they changed members - despite the fact that the original lineup only recorded a fraction of the material that the 2nd incarnation did. In retrospect, I feel differently about it all now.

At first, I legitimately thought that the first guy just went through puberty and grew a beard and was Ukigumo, haha.

@Saku, @Flame - I love gundam, but I'm really a fan of the more serious, political, and somewhat depressing Gundam Series (my favorite is still Zeta Gundam and I am in love with Unicorn). Do you guys think I should give Gundam Build Fighters a try? I came across it before - saw the animation/outlook, and was like "eww no" - so I'm heavily biased. Also, I agree with Flame about Space Dandy being very hit or miss. The show has A LOT of cool things going for it (the animation, the score, the director, etc), but it can be very tiresome to watch (and often predictable). I feel like I would have been more interested if there were at least some kind overarching storyline.

^ Not really familiar with most of your playlist, although I do enjoy Justin Timberlake. And there's nothing to be ashamed about - JT is a respectable singer and musician. 01. Snakadaktal - Feel The Ocean Hold Me Under 02. Jew's-ear - Delaqio Talakovsky 03. 凛として時雨 - DISCO FLIGHT 04. Linda Martini - Sapatos Bravos 05. Buke and Gase - Houdini Crush 06. Body Language - Lose My Head 07. 東京事変 - ブラックアウト 08. 雅だよ雅 - いちごのうた 09. kenmochi hidefumi - Sub-zero 10. Be Forest - Lost Boy Ummm...pretty tough, but I'll go with Jew's-ear. 'Delaqio Talakovsky' is possibly one of my favorite tracks in existence. Apparently jew's-ear are still active, but they haven't released anything since 2008. I really hope they get back in the studio one day - splendid band.

NECRO'ING THIS THREAD TOO EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE TONS OF BROKEN YT LINKS Anyways, I mentioned Carmen Maki in this thread, but never posted a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVz0bsPOFQc
  16. NECRO'ING THIS THREAD So yeah, Japan is in dire need of soul and neo-soul (I'm thinking mostly along the lines of Erykah Badu, Amel Larrieux, Jill Scott, Alice Russell, Bilal, Quadron, etc etc). There are quite a few soulful Japanese singers out there, but they usually fall into other genres and I shed tears everytime I think about it.

Double post: Steering clear of people with low/bad vibrations is a great, healthy practice - especially for continued, positive growth and cultivating inner peace, but I wonder if it also neglects the less glamourous side of compassion. Perhaps avoiding such people is compassion in itself, but I also believe this way of thinking assumes that others aren't worthy of bettering themselves and growing into better, more positive vibrations. I dunno. If it's true that you attract what you put out, (ie ppl with bad vibes will attract bad vibes and bad situations, and ppl that emit good vibes will do the opposite), then does the nature of these dynamics strip everyone from the obligations of compassion? I'm still figuring this out...

I often wonder if people genuinely appreciate my company (for me) or if they merely appreciate the fact that I'm facilitating THEM with company. I've found myself in more one-sided relationships and friendships than I'd like to (one-sided in that I'm usually the one giving my time, attention, affection, etc, etc)...At any rate, I need to reevaluate myself and the vibes I broadcast to the universe, as I tend to attract too many people who are needy, yet don't know how to reciprocate.
