How do you feel about the 3rd brithday's last single 罪状「グルトニー」(zaijou「gluttony」),

    I recommend this one.

Thank you for those link ill check them out :music2:

I haven't heard it, like I said only listened to their first few releases but I didn't really care for them. But I'll check out their last single just to give it a chance.

    Also no problem.

I need to check these guys out i loved The 3rd birthday. Balalaika was okay :kittydrop:I only liked only one song in the first mini and the 2nd single.

You should check them out although I don't care for any of Ell/L's bands s after this one. Btw The 3rd birthday actually did covers of a lot of Amber bullet's songs such as "I am ..", there are some more but I never really liked T3B so I don't know all of them. I only listened to like their first 3 releases. But I definitely recommend Amber Bullet, one of the best short lived Nagoya kei bands ever. He never has really followed that style since unfortunately.

But yes if you like Ell then I think you might like this band a lot more than The 3rd birthday. Also I liked balalaika even less than this band, but I never have liked anything he's done outside of Amber Bullet so far. I wonder if he'll be in another band or if he's done this time? Because balalaika was short, even shorter then Amber bullet lol.

You can find all of their stuff here and here: Note: Some of the dates are wrong or missing but I have the correct ones posted above in the OP.

Right now, D, Human Cry and Gokuchu no Orchestra are the ones that I've been enjoying the most

Human Cry is my favorite song by them along with the others I posted in the OP I am ... and there is the silent bullet under  the Amber sky.

  4. Omfg how and why did they afford to film that terrible song into a promotional video?

Also why did this crappy band actually put a release on itunes, but many other way better indie vk bands never do?

    I just don't get it.

  5. I went ahead and updated the OP and I decided to attempt to revive their topic. Amber bullet still remain my favorite project of Ell(Now know as L). For anyone who has never heard of them and would like to check them out, I've also posted samples in the OP.

wait how are they playing with nogod? isnt nogod major?  Is nogod sales wise and fandom wise flopping as well? or status doesn't matter with live shows?

Maybe Nogod's just giving them a shot early on kinda like Yoshiki did with dir en grey. Or maybe they're actually getting pretty popular. And yes Nogod is major signed to KING RECORDS http://www.kingrecords.co.jp/cs/artist/artist.aspx?artist=20087

Wait they all sound like deathgaze though. And you tagged your "brutal" Nagoya kei. So i think i am right. Also isnt that Mucc's sound and they are Eurosomething

In some cases yes Nagoya kei bands sort of crossed over which is why I listed that tag. And DEATHGAZE is arguable I'll give you that, but the bands I mentioned sound NOTHING like MUCC and the sound you're reffing to is eroguro and it's related to Angura kei, which is what early MUCC is related to. Not Nagoya. Listen for bands that sound like aie (ex. DEADMAN, the studs, the god and death stars, etc.) particularly the bass.  More detailed discussions and explanations between myself, @AimiGen7, @WhirlingBlack, and @Tokage in the chat if you'd like to read more.  Modern examples would be bands such as: KEEL, gibkiy gibkiy gibkiy, emmurée, and STEREO.C.K.

That's exactly what i just said

Sorry maybe I misunderstood. But you said, " before it got intermingled with neo oshare" which I took to mean that you're saying current Nagoya kei bands all mix in Neo oshare. And I was listing modern Nagoya bands who don't. My bad if you meant something else.

    (see Pendulum for reference)

I wouldn't say it is there are still plenty of examples of Nagoya kei without those influences, such as: KEEL, gibkiy gibkiy gibkiy, emmurée, and STEREO.C.K to name a few.

Maybe not as interesting as the other examples in this thread, but DIR EN GREY always makes me chuckle.

They took the Japanese 灰色の銀貨 (Haiiro no Ginka = Grey Silver Coin) and, for whatever reason, decided to translate it into three different languages: German, French and English - Dir En Grey.

The only problem? "Dir" doesn't mean "Silver Coin": https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/dir#German

What DOES mean "Silver Coin"? https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Silbermünze

I wonder when it dawned on them that their name is a mistranslation...

Or they just stole their name from the early 90s VK band Dir & Gray :V

It was a band made up of Zi:Kill roadies if my memory serves me right.

Also, Dir en grey got their name from Kamijo according to most sources, he made them believe that Dir en grey meant silver coin. If I remember correctly someone (Shinya?) revealed this a while back conclusively. They played gigs together back in the La:Sadie's days and were good friends at the time.

Also, this is kind of off topic, so please get back on track with regards to unusual and unnecessary symbols in band names.

Sorry to go off-topic again but I always thought that it was most likely they got their named from a 1995 "Lareine" song of near identical name "Dir en gray":

    Spoiler

Also on iTunes, and this includes DEFINITE PROMISE which never leaked. The files were transcoded from MP3s, so buyer beware if you're not on Spotify

Wow I never  knew this. Is that only on Japanese itunes?

Edit: Oh I see now they just added most of these. International  iTunes  btw. Same with Spotify.

Brilliant way to promote themselves in preparation for reforming.
