    @local arty hennies - anyone ever used japanese watercolor pads/spiral sketchbooks? are they any good?

     

    I just got the canson mixed media pad after not using them for a few years and the quality downgrade for a noticeably higher price is unreal I don't get what happened to them

      I've only used Fabriano paper for watercolor and so does another I know, then just get the cheapo stuff for non-important work like Strathmore or even those generic brand with the big letter on the front (forgot the name).

      edit:

      looking now the big letter one might've been canson lol, been a long time since that.

      hmm interesting ty, I was thinking about just giving up and stocking on fabriano, it's going to cost me a fucking lot based on how much I'll need exactly tho.... orz

       

      rest assured canson stopped being a cheapo brand long ago lmao!!! the mix media sketchbook that was my go to back than is now trash too so they're cancelled

      almost two months too late but The Universe has graciously answered my question (after I purchased all my necessities but w/e), if anyone else is looking for neato art papers check those brands out:
