ASOS/BOOK 3 SPOILERS - SRSLY DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOKS
I can't believe there was no SH. I don't understand why the show writers wouldn't take the opportunity to film what could have been the most incredible cliffhanger in TV history. Just imagine the publicity the show would have gotten after SH's reveal, Twitter would explode even more than it did after S3E9. Where the hell are their priorities? Oh right we really needed those brothel scenes with Oberyn and Ellaria + naked women. And gotta make sure Jaime and Cersei have sex in the Kingsguard chamber, something that Jaime specifically didn't want in the books.
The saddest thing about this is that now book readers will probably ruin SH to the show watchers, her reveal will have no surprise anymore. #NoLSH is already trending on twiiter.
Anyway my nitpicks with the show are just that. The show is great and one of my favorite things on TV right now. I just think there's a lot D&D could do better. -
lol bye

here's what we know so far according the scans, from Serebii
The next batch of CoroCoro information has been posted to Japanese forums and this batch showcases more information about the upcoming games. This reveals Mega Sceptile, Swampert and Diancie. Mega Sceptile is Grass/Dragon-type while the others maintain their type. Mega Diancie's ability is currently listed as ??? while Mega Sceptile has Lightning Rod and Mega Swampert has the ability Swift Swim.
Groudon & Kyogre's new "Mega Evolutions" are known as Primal/Prehistoric/Primeval Groudon & Primal/Prehistoric/Primeval Kyogre and are said to be a regression called Ancient Devolution. Steven Stone returns and also appears to have a Mega Charizard X and is after the secret for Mega Evolution
Both the Mach and Acro Bike make a return in this game and Team Aqua & Team Magma both return as well. Team Magma is lead once again by Maxie, and his Admins: Tabitha & Courtney. Team Aqua is lead by Archie and his admins Matt and Shelley, all of whom have been redesigned. Like the originals the team you face varies depending upon the game
The Mega Evolution activating item in this game is the Mega Bangle.aw man I was hoping for a cool ability for Sceptile like Protean or Adaptablity, but Lightingrod? wtf. I guess it'll be sort of useful on rain teams, but I don't even see those anymore ever since weather got nerfed. I'm really surprised Diancie's getting a mega evolution, I thought we weren't getting any Gen 6 mega soon hopefully other Gen 6 pokes get mega evos too.
THE HYPE IS REAL OMFG. I'm not too big on the boy figure, but I really like the girl's redesign, the new hair accessoire is adorable.
I wonder if Nintendo will be revealing more on their E3 panel this Tuesday?
I actually really like the male charachter. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic, but Brendan is my fave playable male charachter. I'm so happy they kept the iconic white hat too. I never liked May, and her redesign didn't change my mind. And I really hope GF/Nintendo reveals more! I'm so hyped for this game.
I wonder if they'll add more version-specific megas, although this time they'll probably be called α and β instead of X and Y.
don't you mean α and Ω??

Oh shit that was sick! Didn't see that coming. And I should not lurk around in GoT threads anyway... hate the spoilers.
yeah until you watch the last two episodes you definitely want to stay the hell away from the Internet. Literally no place is safe, I was playing BL2 on steam the other day and someone's username was a HUUUUGE spoiler. I mean I already knew but if any show-watcher saw that it'd ruin a lot for them.

S4E8 spoilers
Really great episode my favorite of the season so far. They're moving through Sansa's story really quickly, but we finally get Alayne!! Arya at the Vale is weird, but I'm interested to see how it plays out. Her laugh at the Bloody Gate was the funniest scene ever too. Jorah's exile wasn't that memorable tbh. How come they never had him kiss Dany like in the books? I think that was a really defining moment for his character, at least it was for me. I don't think the show has done a very good job at showing that he really has feelings for her, which would have made his exile all the more heartbreaking.
But the Red Viper vs The Mountain scene was perfect. Loved every second of it; shot, choreographed, and acted beautifully. Poor Ellaria I hope the show does more with her, I really like her actress and think it'd be a waste of a great casting to just have her go back to Dorne. I know it's a probably a huge stretch, but I hope that they'll fuse Taena's character with Ellaria (like the show has done with other characters already).also check this out http://mccomseycomix.wordpress.com/2013/06/26/the-red-viper-vs-the-mountain-that-rides-a-12-page-comic/ it's a really well made comic of the Red Viper vs. The Mountain fight scene, and some of my fave asoiaf fan art.

this PV is gorgeous omg. Shiina x Tomita Lab never disappoint. I love how the song builds up, and the d&b bit was cool. this is definitely an improvement over the Bon Voyage version which was already good. the songs that have leaked and the previews have all been pretty interesting, can't wait to hear them all in full.

The difference is that if cali≠gari made this it would actually be good. This song sucks. This band, sucks, actually. And it reminds me more of BUCK TICK, but much, much worst.
I'm not surprised that the only vk band you don't like is an all female band, misogynist
Sakura Seven reacted to this -
pls bring back secret bases and add a Street Pass feature in the style of ACNL pls game freak pls
also so happy I could crey that we are are finally gonna see Hoenn in 3D it's my favorite Pokemon region. places like Fortree and Sootopolis city are gonna be gorgeous.
And apparently not only are Groudon and Kyogre getting mega evolutions, but so are Sceptile and Swampert to go along with Blaziken.
this and any information, other than these games being released sometime in November '14, is just optimistic speculation at this point.

Does it really matter how much it strays off from the books? It's called an adaptation for a reason. As long as it's good (and makes sense within the context of the medium), then who cares? The book and the show should be viewed as 2 different entities, not as one. It's not a fair comparison for the adaptation to the original source. That's just my 2 cents on the whole thing.
That's the thing though it doesn't make sense for the show writers to do this in any medium. JAMIE LOST HIS HAND BECAUSE HE DIDN'T WANT BRIENNE TO GET RAPED IN THE BOOKS AND THE SHOW. How come the people who are defending the show's decision just gloss over the fact that Jamie is very much against sexual violence against women? Jamie's scenes in book 3 and season 3 are supposed to redeem him of the things he did in the previous books/seasons (which was mostly seen through the eyes of Starks). Yeah he pushed a kid out of a window, but he did it because he loved his sister and wanted to protect her status as queen. Yeah he attacked Ned in KL, but his brother had been kidnapped and held hostage by Ned's wife. Yeah he killed the king he was supposed to protect, but he did it because the king was psychotic and was gonna burn a half million people. To have him rape the woman he loves (sister or not) is fucking character assassination.
-
How do the book readers here feel about the rape scene in the last episode? It pretty much confirmed what I already knew: that is D&D are obsessed with sexual violence against women. I mean for fucks sake Jamie literally lost a hand to protect Brienne from getting raped. it is so out of character for him to rape Cersei, but D&D just couldn't pass up the opportunity to turn consensual sex into rape to "shock" the audience. This shit scene is not as powerful as what really happened where the two twins have sex while Cersei is on her period. I really want to like the show like I do the books. I understand it isn't and can't be a perfect adaptation, but man the writers have really fucked up big time and it isn't their first time. I'm with nekkichi in saying that the show is doing a crap job at handling any situation involving sex and women.
-
it's not just his character though. one of the things I hate about tv series is how much nuance and subtlety is cut down compared to the source text, and how much cock is shovelled into literally every episode for no reason.
like, there's a million other shows that does a better job exposing dick and pussy relationship tactics, why did they elaborately penis everything up so much?
like, sorry nope, I appreciate all the strong female characters and an occasional qt bastard dude, but at this point I can only fanboy over the scenes with stark children (and bb samwell tarly) without feeling grossed about everything else.
gurl there is not enough dick in this show what are you even talking about. idk why the hell ppl keep saying this when we've only seen Theon, Hodor (which was prosthetic), Loras' twink friend, and like a glimpse of Gendry's dick. Compare those four scenes to the gratuitous full frontal female nudity found in just about EVERY episode of the show. Bitch I was robbed of my Robb Stark dick, his booty wasn't even that nice!

^ that video is so great. Such a shame that they had to give that moment to Littlefinger's skeevy ass especially when we see just how well Rory would have done with the scene. Sansa and the Hound's relationship was done so badly on the show.
Speaking of powerful acting it's such a shame that the people behind the show aren't pushing nominations for some of the better actors on the show and only nominating themselves. I mean how how the fuck are they even considering basic ass one-line deliverer Emilia Clarke over Michelle Fairley? I guess that;s the bad about a show with a huge cast like this. Everyone wants a nomination and they're all willing to throw each other under the bus for one.
I never read the books so whatever he was depicted there, whatever. Never had an issue with John Snow from day one and there are far worse characters than him like that torture freak and the lanister mom, so all the hate on him is rather undeserved.
Okay maybe hate was a bit too much, but Jon's character is just sooo boring and cliche. I mean you don't really expect me to believe that virgin Jon Snow was an expert on cunnilingus, right? Also Kit's brooding constipation and never showing more than one emotion isn't doing show!Jon any favors, but his acting is slowly getting better. At least Cersei and Ramsay are well written, and played by two very good actors.
lol you can so tell these two are fucking. get it lena!
-
^OMFG YASSSS I fucking hate Jon. His chapters were always the worst to read except the ones in ASOS, and Kit Harrington is such a terrible actor so I can't even like him on the show either.
ADWD BOOK SPOILERS SERIOUSLY DON'T FUCKING READ THIS UNLESS YOU'VE READ THE BOOKI already know what happens to him though, and that he's super important to the story so Gurm isn't gonna let him die before the big reveal. Meli's probably gonna pull a Beric on him.

See, I do think Oberyn was an interesting character. He was basically the stepping stone for introducing Dorne which I think is fascinating, and the POVs there are some of my favorite. We learn about his daughters, his combat prowess, and little bit of history including his education at the Citadel. His sexuality? Mentioned in the books literally once, and it was only a rumor. I really like how they introduced him in the show, but I don't think the scenes that followed like it were necessary. In fact I thought they were out right ridiculous and just pandering to the audience with the whole "hypsersexual exotic foreigners" cliche + BEWBS.
And I'm not talking about the sept scene after Joffery's death, I was talking about the scene in the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard chamber that happened shortly after. I know that the show butchered the sept "moonblood" scene into a rape scene, and I caught some flack earlier in this thread for calling it out. It's like the show writers can't get anything with Jamie and Cersei right.
Surprise, surprise D&D continue to commit character assassination, because no one cares about trying to adapt a story as accurately as possible when you can have another half-assed sex scene for Buzzfeed to put on their "Hottest Game of Thrones Sex Scenes" list.
