Their pink spider hide cover featured an acoustic part so similar to Dir en grey's The Unraveling stuff I was amazed Here comes The unsadielling

What's the song in the video? My memory sucks

Most bands have 4-5 artists. Their facebook mentions there are songs by groups formed for the project, but that's not the rule. So, if L'arc en ciel recorded a cover, that's 4. Kuroyume, 2. Luna Sea, 5. And so it goes. It's pretty easy to get 12 songs that way

I bet Dir en grey is also in considering Kaoru is big friends with Dead End. Also.... 50 artists? That's a lot We'll have to wait I guess to see if the entire L'arc en ciel is in, for example From Official FB [Product Information] V.A / DEAD END Tribute (temporary title) (Wed) 2013.09.04 on sale 3,000 yen (tax-out) / 3,150yen (tax-in) Label: motorod / avex group Item No:AVCD-38651 The idea of a tribute for DEAD END has surfaced many times since more than 10 years ago, but the dreamlike project did not come to fruition. As might be expected from DEAD END who is famous for being "musician's musician", they have countless numbers of followers. As a matter of fact, when this same project was brought up at the beginning of the 2000s, there were many enthusiastic remarks from various artists such as "Make it soon, I'll definitely take part" "I want to do xx". However, on top of DEAD END being inactive at the time, MORRIE was living in New York, and the other members were all scattered. As such, the passion from the other musicians did not manage to take shape. After ten-odd years, DEAD END has revived splendidly and once again they have begun to shine as a musician in the present continuous tense. Many musicians who've always respected DEAD END gathered at the venue where the band held their 25th debut anniversary live "Kaosmoscape" in September 2012. This in turn heightened the passion to materialize this tribute album. Even if one is to look around the Japanese music scene, there probably isn't another band who had such a great influence on as many musicians as DEAD END did. There are many who said what triggered them to start music was DEAD END. If they didn't exist, the current music scene might have became something very different. That being the case, musicians who were affected by them have very strong feelings towards this project and so production took on a bit of an eccentric form where only "those who strongly love and respect DEAD END" have participated. Packed full of their feelings for the piece they have chosen, the participating musicians will be expressing in their own special way the song they feel strongly attached to. Although many tribute albums have been released, it'll be hard to find another piece of work overflowing with as much love as this one. The music scene in the latter half of 2013 will certainly be greatly stunned by the phenomenal performances from the participating musicians who inherited genes from DEAD END, and by the numerous famous tunes of DEAD END which are simply stylish and timeless. http://avex.jp/deadendtribute/index.html

Well, I really enjoyed Zecchou Bang and Zantetsuken, so I don't know how I feel about they changing style right now But let's see...

Holy shit hadn't seen that Shibuya kokaido set. Deity + Macabre oh shittttttttt Jealous reverse!!
  11. Wonrei

It's hard to not think this would probably be Daisuke singing if he was still alive. The song just screams kagerou and the studs
  12. Wonrei

There's also a Kyoran Kyosho 21st century baby remix that's going to be used on the movie Fuan no tane... maybe they're using it as a b-side on the new single?
  13. Wonrei

great samples! recent miyavi is so much better than his old stuff
  14. Wonrei

They are probably the only band that manages to make actual decent deathcore in the visual kei scene. Pretty interesting, will check later
  15. The album trailer... wow. There's a song with the participation of Atsuo from Boris, Shuuji from cali gari, Shinobu Narita and Miya from Mucc mixing. That's not the kind of thing you see everyday. And the last song features violin by Heather Pauwee, Morrie's wife. Heh

Well, it's been 15 years since he died. So I get why they're doing this. It's also his 50th anniversary if I remember. So I'm pretty interested. I don't care for 99% of those bands, but well, what can we get. I secretly hoped we'd get a studio version of Mucc's Dice, as that was just glorious Just realized how defspiral is essentially Transtic Nerve, and they also did ever free on the original tribute spirits. Seeing their take on this track after so long is going to be interesting. I hope they keep the part where they let hide's vocals play on the background, I always loved that section
  17. Well... the vocalist guy really is trying to do the Daisuke... but it's pretty awesome.
  18. Wonrei

Instrumentally this one's actually pretty decent. I like the metalcore in it. Wataru really shouldn't be the vocalist of this band anymore, though. If they want to keep doing metal please get that guy out of there. His harsh screaming is bad. Really bad and people should feel bad for liking it. Probably will never listen to it again because of Wataru, but the instrumentals are pretty nice, a lot better than their self titled album.
  19. Wonrei

The song titles and the 2 songs we've heard until now give me quite a Lazzaro vibe... huh
  20. Wonrei

Does anyone know what Shun from Deshabillz is doing? Haven't heard about him since deshabillz disbanded again
  21. Wonrei

Just notice how everything always involves Juri, Leda and Sujk but it's never Aggy... the problem was probably that guy. They should just start a new band without him, it's getting kind of weird to see these guys collaborating every release
  22. Melody-wise this sounds a lot more interesting than what their self titled was... the problem is I really hate the way Wataru screams, it's just really really bad. And most of the samples are just the chorus, so he may actually scream on all tracks and ruin every single one. Door to the Sky for example sounded really good instrumentally and the chorus sounds great too, but that shit before the chorus... HELP
  23. Wonrei

lol even japanese people are calling stuff EDM right now, must be great to mislabel music this much anyways I absolutely loved Ahead of the Light so I can't wait to listen to this
  24. This reminds me of Audioslave. Except they'll probably sound just like Versailles with a different guy. I wonder if Versailles even has a chance of coming back after seeing this.

The acoustic guitar on the intro and Kyo's vocals are such nice little touches Thank you based Dir en grey
