Penicillin was popular as a visual kei band, but not really as a normal japanese pop act. But when they released Romance, oh boy. That's one of those visual kei hits only the 90's could provide. These days only bands like Sid can get higher oricon positions and even for them it's not something that happens everyday. Other tracks like that: Sophia - Machi I don't think they ever managed to reach what this track got again. Though it's highest position was 13th, it made the album little circus reach 6th and Both album and single stayed for more than 30 weeks on the charts. Wow. Luna Sea - Rosier Their breakthrough. Though not their best selling single, it spent 25 weeks on the charts. Just like Machi and Romance, it's featured on dozens of collections of 90's japanese rock hits. A really memorable chorus and an overall great song, it brought Luna Sea to the mainstream spotlights, even if they were already pretty known on the rock side of the thing. After this, many other hits came: Desire, Storm, I for You, True Blue, but Rosier's probably the most famous and "the" Luna Sea song.

Had to search for it... how come?

When I first saw the mazy subtitle I thought they'd focus on their more progressive songs or something... but this set just confuses me more And. Filth. What. The. Fuck. Heard they played a new intro this time. Can you confirm this?
-
Wow! All those demos. Interested.
-
Aww bummer I hope Neil Peart gets a new band or goes solo, he's too much of a great drummer to stop
-
I guess it could be the full song... it's just the intro to the album anyways
-
I didn't even like the preview and the song ended up being nice. I wonder what's going to be of the ones I actually liked! Excited

is that kiko mizuhara??? pls

tbh these "The Swan" previews sound even more like Dir en grey then the self titled. If the self titled had some MOAB era inspiration, these previews just scream DSS Dir en grey. You can really hear the influence on the guitar work(track 2 could be an Unraveling song)

That reliving your past glories is just so relative. Yeah, Morrie's voice is definitely weaker now and he can't reach 1/4 of the stuff he used to. They're still great musicians and I love You's recent compositions just as much as I loved old school Dead End. I don't really see the same problem with Atsushi or Ryuichi, though. (To be honest I don't even like early Ryuichi, I even listen more to the re-recorded self titled just because of his voice). Atsushi had a peak on the 90's, but I still like his voice now more than 80's Atsushi who just sounded so... weird on the whole new wave Buck-tick thing. Aaand there's just no use in discussing this. It just doesn't go anywhere, specially when your interlocutor is the God of the oldschool visual kei, who knows absolutely everything, even if he's mostly wrong. So just move on everyone

Er... How do I tag this? Haha To the point, before listening I was thinking Ryuichi and Yasu would've been better if they switched songs, but after listening I can't really agree... Ryuichi's "breakout" at the end of I can Hear The Rain is just gorgeous. Interesting to see The Godsend is the first time in a lot of years we see Kiyoharu doing some Goth rock stuff. Serafine was a surprise too, as I never listened to Ali Project before and her combination with Sugizo's guitar was beautiful too. And I love the modernization of the song, at least I like it a lot better than Ryuichi's cover. props for cali gari for doing the most original cover with their new wave version of Blind Boy Project

I prefer this new wave sound they have too. Loved starbow and definitely looking forward to this
-
This toned down look is a lot better than the "hardcore dark and edgy vk band" they were sporting for the last releases Let's see how this will end.
-
Lineup went quite unexpected! Great to see Hyde doing a hard rock song(and seeing Dir en grey's recent sound it would only make sense Shinya would drum for this song)

^here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zj2KV2ETO3g the actual original a really famous ripoff
-
Nah, they were there. This is just the same thing L'arc did with Hurry Xmas, just Halloween version. They will probably re-release it next year too...
-
The guys from ROTTENGRAFFTY? That's awesome. Love seeing MERRY interact with other bands, specially the ones that aren't part of the vk scene.
