As if their label would allow them to do such a thing. Ha. I'll rant about BP Records some other time, though...
 
Judging by the previews, the song is not good enough to be a single and the b-sides are bland. It's not so much that the compositions bore me, or that I don't like the idea of the traditional synth, but they just drown all their music in synth nowadays, it's overkill! They need to go light on the background synth stuff and focus on the instruments that they claim to actually play. They did a much better job achieving a balancing of actual music and synth until a few years ago.
 
Maybe I'll grow to really like 春時雨 when it surfaces on an album, but in the mean time, I'm skipping it. Let's just see what コドモドラゴン and Royz have to offer this month...

I say グリーヴァ as well. Although for me, I thought they started going downhill with 終焉; the title track is their most incredible song, but everything else sounded kinda ... average. Pretty much everything they released post-終焉 just sounded like leftovers, and some even sounded like straight-up rehashes of alkaloid. There are a few songs here and there that I like from 2014 and on, but nothing they ever did after 鬼ト影 lived up to it, which is a strange thing to say about a compilation of blatant rip-offs.
 
As for bands that haven't disbanded: NoGoD. They started a change for worse with 欠片, which I liked and still do, but they kept going with that sound, and have been going sort of up and down. 欠片 was good, 現実 was average, V was decent, Make A New World was garbage, Renovate was great the first them then average the second, proof was poop. They should either renovate their sound for real, or just call it quits.

For me it was GRIEVA.
Since I love old school Visual KeiGrieva more or less sounded like that (Dir en grey-ish) at the beginning, but around mid 2015 the band slowly began to lose that sound, it slowly began to acquire more of a poppish style at the same time that most of their songs sounded uninspired to me, just a lot of songs released in such a short period of time every year.
 
 

Ben's previously been very open about disliking the drag race format where the producers pit the girls against each other for entertainment purposes. I don't think she wanted to do all stars at all, but were either encouraged by fans or buttered up by the producers, or both. Ben made a statement, and all the power to her for it. I'm kind of sad that I won't see her greatness in the show anymore, because she was so above everyone else, no matter what you say. But at the end, I think she wanted to be part of the toxicity that is RuPaul's Drag Race.

I have a feeling I'm gonna order this soon, but still not really sure.

I forget about this all the time, even though I hyped it, even though I spent money on it. It still kinda feels like they haven't released an album since NOnsenSe MARkeT...

merry's m-ology was a flop, save for a few songs

I actually apprehensive about ASH, it can go both ways. I hope they don't go the random scream and grunts way. Cannibal Corpse cosplay is cool every now and then but I wish to hear melodies from DEG any day. The did it for Fukai, so I know they can do re-recording justice. May VK Gods hear my prayers
 

When DEG re-records a song, all traces of the original version goes poof, never to be heard again. 

I hope they do. That version of Tsumi to batsu is my favorite.

If Ash gets the vestige remake treatment I'd be casually optimistic. But given how they butchered my other favorite track Unknown...Despair...a Lost, my first reaction was still utter dread upon seeing this. I'll reserve judgement until after we've gotten some samples at least.

Utaboomy LIVE wins the "nobody asked for it" award. Not sure how to feel about them re-recording Ash... I hope they don't Tsumi to Batsu the song

I almost never say this about Arlequin, but I'm impressed

I get the feeling that any time soon they're gonna bring in a drag king to spice up the competition. Either this season or next because the feeling of exhaustion towards the current format is more or less global. 

I wasn’t really fond of Cobalt, but I love 破れた電報. I would have liked 空も笑ってる to appear on this list, in the interest of songs sang by Ao.

Incidentally, all of these are primarily sung by guitarist Ao (at least in their original versions). Nice~

I don't hate it anymore, I just did the first couple times, but I went back to it and it's alright. I've always liked the energy and the "oldie punk sound" of it, but at first I just couldn't stand the main riff, but it's fine now. It's not my favourite on M-OLOGIE (that one is a tie between 犬型真性MASOCHIST and 傘と雨), but still enjoyable.
