I didn't mention them, because I thought they broke up at the way end of 2015 (didn't know their last live was sometime last year). Tokami is another example of a band breaking up just when they improve. All of their 2015 releases were fantastic, breaths of fresh air. Their 2012-2014 releases were kinda stale. I think it would have been cool if they re-recorded various pre-2015 songs before calling it quits, because their vocalist improved dramatically since Luminescence. However, I'm not really mourning Tokami, because we have Schwarz Kain now, and they're pretty much picking up where Tokami left off.

So I should just skip this, then? Okay guys, thanks for listening so I don't have to!

We don't need a 新朽木の灯 (Shin-kuchiki no tou) and we don't need a 新鵬翼 (Shin-houyoku). 朽木の灯 doesn't need a re-record/remix/remaster job. The performance itself is perfect, and there's nothing especially bothersome about the production or mixing. As for 鵬翼 and onward, I don't think a re-recording would sound significantly different from the original. @Zeusand @doombox make a good point about 新是空 (Shin-zekuu); if it happened, it wouldn't have the same essence or energy that the original did, which would probably not work in their favour. It would be interesting to hear just a few re-recorded tracks from that era though, which I think we'll be getting with the so-called "This is NOT Greatest Hits" compilation. I would just like all of 是空 to be remixed, like the few tracks from the 2007 BEST/WORST compilations were. I know this thread is about 新痛絶, an album which does exist, I just need a few more listens before I give my thoughts on it.

If it's not "greatest hits," what the fuck are FUZZ and utagoe doing there (lol)? I was kinda hoping for more older tracks/b-sides.

I would absolutely love a 新是空 release; I don't really like the album's production/mixing job. Even a remix/remaster a la BEST/WORST OF MUCC would be perfect.

I was actually kinda hoping they'd do something new with that song, since the single version is a "two-sided track." I am glad that they're doing something new with Happy life, since that track is 2 years old now!

When AvelCain announced their disbandment, I was very disappointed, especially because they only released one fantastic album and I was still waiting for a second one. I wanna say that I'm still sad about it, except I'm not. After おまじない, which I still love to this day, they quickly went downhill. With the 輪廻転生 single, they didn't "go out with a bang," they didn't even fizzle out, they effectively killed themselves, which is rather fitting for this band. I enjoyed (most of) everything up 'til mid-2015, I still do, but they just ran out of juice near the end. I'd still like karma, eve, and maybe one of the early ex-members to form a new band. I am kinda pissed about SCREW disbanding! Sure, PSYCHO MONSTERS and SCREW weren't incredibly fantastic, but 昏睡 was a sign of life and 覚醒 blew everything since 2011 out of the water. Don't you just love it when a band calls it quits right after they show great improvement!? I'm even more pissed about girugamesh disbanding. When I first heard "period," I thought, "how the fuck can these guys leave after something amazing like THAT???!!!!" But, y'know what, they're the ones that went out with a bang! "period" was holy motherfucking incredible! While I don't think I can say it's their best song ever, it's certainly their best song since 壊れていく世界.

Usually, when a band member leaves, it doesn't bother me or worry me too much... this is not one of those times. I am not okay with this!

I voted for D.I.D. a few years back, I guess... As much as I enjoy the instrumentation/musicianship of D.I.D., Akane sometimes makes it rather difficult to enjoy. I kind of prefer Para:noir to D.I.D. Yes, as has been pointed out, Akane abused autotune during the Para:noir days, but it wasn't constant, just occasional. These days, however, it's nothing but chipmunk vocals and HNNNGGG-HRRRNNNG-HNNNNGG-HRRRRNNNNNNG. I'd rather have good vocals with occasional autotune abuse over a potentially good voice constantly wasted on chipmunk squealing and unintelligible grunting noises. I never really had any respect for NOCTURNAL BUTTLUST, before listening to a single song of theirs, I just got the impression that they were total douchebags (but then again, I just described at least half the VK scene). That impression made it hard to take this particular band seriously. I do like their singer's voice when he actually sings in Japanese, but I don't care for his screeches or Engrish vocals. Most of their stuff bores me, though, so I don't even bother anymore. They've always been a joke to me, more so than any other VK band. As much as I'd like to take back my vote and say "neither," I can't. 1) the system won't let me, 2) writing this post has reminded me that I still like the music D.I.D. created, I just have a problem with the vocals (again, I just described half of VK).

That was a pretty good preview; I can't wait to hear more! I still wish they'd get a new graphic designer, those covers (and every cover after "9," minus the two mini albums) are looking awful af. Pretty sure they've all be done by the same guy, 'cause the "typography" completely ruins it every time 😂

I'd love to hear their older stuff re-recorded. 絲 is one of my favourites from TRACES 2, and it's a shame that it and reila are the only pre-NIL re-recording. I still enjoy TRACES 2 very much, but I still think that most (if not all) of the post-STACKED RUBBISH songs were unnecessary to include, and it would have been better to instead re-record more 2002-2004 songs.
