I will consider pirating this for the ABYSS set

Both types are available on iTunes: TYPE A: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/mushigoe-type-a-single/id1294609625 TYPE B: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/mushigoe-type-b-single/id1294609825 This is the closest to impressive they've gotten post-OUSIA. Musically, all previews sound great, but Jin is the weakest link who ruins it. He desperately needs a vocal coach if he wants to form another band next year.

I think I'm gonna be the first person to not dismiss DECADE 1998-2002. That compilation helped me get into the band, and I thought they chose really good songs that gave me an idea of what to expect from the first three albums. It felt like they actually put in some effort with this one, created a decent flow of songs (although opening each disc with a long song was strange), and they didn't include every single, they included a fair share of album tracks. I just really appreciated that it wasn't just every single and only every single in exact chronological order. I'm sure it violently offended people that no MISSA tracks were included, though. On the other hand, DECADE 2003-2007 never got much attention from me; I had already heard Withering and MARROW by the time I discovered these compilations, and the remastering on the VULGAR tracks was pretty bad. I almost fucking screamed when I saw the leaflet that mentioned this! Also, I saw an auction of the GAUZE 2LP press on Yahoo! a few years ago and it went for $800, but I was too poor to bid.
  4. I'm not stoked about the tracklist at all, it doesn't look like any of the tracks will flow well at all. The tracklist for disc 3 looks especially problematic. I LOATHE the re-recordings of 罪と罰 and かすみ, I could really do without ultraboomy and untruth, and I'd much prefer they'd use the original version of OBSCURE. It won't surprise me if the 3 re-recordings sound exactly like the 2012 version of 霧と繭, but with Kyo making different gurgle-burgles and wraggle-fraggles.

I had a feeling the LUCY sets would include all of their more energetic, “live oriented” songs
  6. DAYUM I am so here for this!

Ugh, I don't know what to say. Last year they released one of the best VK albums of the year, and while they've really been phoning it in on the post-album singles, I had hope that they'd still be able to write really good albums. Oh well, this is making me not wanna listen to/buy the new single, and honestly, I'm ready to just ignore them/be a bitter bitch about them. Thanks for RUVISH, I guess.

Just downloaded Heaven Upside Down and I am not impressed. Revelation #12's opening riff was the best thing to happen on this album. SAY10 was surprisingly good, and Blood Honey was fairly decent, but I am not digging the rest! I just can't deal with the electronic "drums." If this album wasn't so watered down in electronic bullshit, I'd probably enjoy this album a lot, I might even look past the cringeworthy sense of humour in the lyrics, although I think I'd still hate JE$U$ CRI$I$. I will be listening a few more times to see if anything else will grow on me, because I want to give this a chance.
  9. Limited Edition: New Dead[en]D is garbage, the PV version is better. I'd be interested in hearing a full version of こんな壊れた世界 (I don't actually have a Spotify account, I just managed to be able to get an embed link for this release)

I think I'm becoming obsessed with this band, I've been listening to them non-stop lately
  11. Seimeisen

DOUG-LY... I'm not digging this at all
  12. Seimeisen

I used to be super obsessed with this band, but I kinda stopped following these guys right around the time they left Starwave. I just haven't really cared for anything they've released on Danger Crue, but damn, I'm digging this! Here's a full preview vid: Not gonna lie, not super into the b-sides

"suspend the expiration of activities" ...... what. So, basically, they're taking a 3 month hiatus? Um, yeah, that's gonna change my life drastically. But yeah they definitely deserve some time off
  14. Seimeisen

ugh why couldn't cali≠gari have picked a more interesting track At least FUZZ ain't here. I mostly wanna hear the lynch., MERRY, and sukekiyo covers
  15. Seimeisen

Why can't they just revive full-time? Enough with this one-day revival shit, quit yanking my heartstrings
  16. Metal and only metal. I think liking VK is how I've been able to slightly broaden my horizons (and by that, I simply mean, acquire the sensibilities to appreciate indie rock/shoegaze/ambient music).
  17. Seimeisen

Everything but Jin's flu voice was fantastic!

I voted for クランケ because why not

NO SMART was my favourite when it came out, and I still really enjoy it, but the thing is, whenever I listen to any of the tracks (minus a few), I usually skip them. I feel the tracks on the album only work together in sequence, like, I can only really enjoy all of the songs together as a unit. Except for 梟, I love that song with all my heart! M.E.R.R.Y. and under-word share the spot for my current fave, and my least faves are Beautiful Freaks (all the singles were the high points) and M-OLOGIE (mainly because I hate Black flag symptom). They have enough material for two b-side compilations, they could totally do a 白い羊/黒い羊 thing like they did with their best-of album. I actually made two MERRY b-side mixtapes like that, where one has all the softer songs, and the other has the more heavy ones. The only song that didn't make either is that b-side on Happy life, 'cause I really can't stand that song.

Name: James (God, 神様, etc.) Age: 24 Years studied: Never really committed to "studying" but I started trying to read the language about 9 years ago Estimated level: Pre-Beginner Knowledge of Hiragana/Katakana: Can read all kana, but for some reason my brain can process hiragana much quicker. Kanji: Maybe 50? But I can only remember to handwrite a few (if any). What is your main goal with studying Japanese? Reading, Conversational, Vocabulary, and Grammar. I went to Japan back in May and felt very bad that I couldn't hold a conversation in Japanese with *anyone* and I also didn't like having to rely on the English menus at restaurants (haha). What materials have you used before? I'll try to translate song/album titles whenever possible. I use WWWJDIC, imiwa?, and shirabe-jisho for vocabulary, and as for grammar, I'd just use Google (both translate and search, though the former is not very reliable). Also, I need to just go on a tangent about how fucking stupid it is that people on the internet will translate song lyrics and go into deep analysis about it but they won't even bother trying to translate the actual title! WHY?!
  21. Apparently, this version is only available on their new web shop and at live venues Info on their OHP: http://schwarzkain.com/844.html Purchase: https://starwave.official.ec/items/8008820

They claim that the album versions of 閉ざされた楽園 and 冬のカスタネット are different from the single versions, but I don't notice any difference; so no re-recordings on under-world. What they should have done with 冬 though is use the instrumental version; it sounds great and would have been PERFECT after the long and epic 激声. Beautiful Freaks has a re-recording of Identity, but I think The Cry Against ME was just remix with re-recorded vocals/drums; the other songs were unchanged. As for NO SMART, 群青 had re-recorded drum and vocal tracks (but I think the guitar tracks were only remixed); ZERO and 梟 were unchanged. I am glad that they re-recorded Happy life, since it's two years old now. I do find it strange that they changed 傘と雨, the most recent single, but left 平日の女, a song released an entire year before, completely untouched. And when I listened to the album, I could have sworn that 傘と雨 just had a new vocal track and everything else was just remixed... huh.
  23. I'm actually digging both A-sides, but the B-sides both seem kinda meh
