Personally I'm really enjoying their new psychobilly direction. They've come a long way since their oi! roots, although their mid-era harsh noise material remains my favorite stuff by the band.

Sounds like it may be a return back to their darker/heavier sound so am looking forward to this.

On my first listen I was hung up on feeling that something was missing and I just kind of assumed that it was the absence of tangible bass lines from the compositions. Now I've realised I think it's more that when they took out the chugs they just didn't manage to get the riffs to replace them. The songs like What's Up noodle around where chugs would've been before ( in Malformation, Rijin imagine the metal riffs gone and only the noodling remain ) and the "heaviest" tracks in here like Funny World are just really fucking bad, like Girugamesh MUSIC and NOW era distilled through Retsu's IG filter. In Rijin everything is still together and the flourishes are just that. This album has stuff that I like that would've been cool on songs in Chedoara, like For the Future is moody and 'aight.

So, as I said in the news thread, math absolutely sucks. Bring back real Visual Kei!

In all seriousness though the second half of the album is noticably stronger than the first, but overall I don't see myself giving too many of these tracks relistens. It has the same problem a lot of the other mathy bands cropping up all over the place these days have; their songs are serviceable but missing that extra something that makes them sound like more than the sum of their parts. Mathy music tends to have a lot more going on in terms of compositional complexity, sure, but that doesn't make it inherently more well-written. In this sense I think they've regressed a bit from CHEDOARA, so hopefully if they continue with this sound they'll at least rediscover some of those qualities.

Also, can the vocalist stop sexually moaning for some guy called 'Richard' in out of the darkness please?

I like them a lot, but this market strategy idea of stretching the hype releasing a single with a high quality pv every four months is really gay.

It's like an AAA DLC-based band.

Yup, really. It has very little of any vk signatures in it, and that's cool for a change. It's dumb and heavy and that's ok.

Except for the generic chorus section this song has some interesting atmosphere about it. I'm 100% in for this full length.

Fair point about the guy spamming  and just trying to get free stuff, it isn't hard to put a bit of money aside for buying music so yeah that is a bit shitty and yep, you're not under any obligation to share stuff you have paid good money for if you do not wish to.

But yeah, the point regardless is still fact, that it DOES cost more to get Japanese stuff from overseas, and the point I was making that for the same price you can get a lot more bang for the buck so the fact the CDs are overpriced in the first place (yes I know they're all generally 20 somethings trying to make a living and its helping keep them "in the scene" etc.... so no need to go there) is just difficult to justify, £20 for a full length album, £10/15 for a two/three song single or £30/40 for a live DVD..... c'mon..... As I said, for bands I do really love I will still support them and buy the stuff, but I just personally find it hard to justify when you can get way more for the same prices not from Japan. haha.

+ Just on an ending note, you have a crappy attitude in general (at least the way you portray yourself through this forum), so you may need to look at keeping that in check. Just saying. lol.

Even if you have money it's hard to justify buying stuff all the time if you live overseas as 1, prices for this stuff is proper high for what it actually is.... 2, postage costs and 3, FUCKING CUSTOMS CHARGES 4, remember we don't all live in Japan so this stuff isn't so easily accessible to all of us. So with all that added together, sometimes buying a single CD will cost like 40/50 quid. I personally do try to get hard-copies for the bands I really like but have cut back a lot on "let's get this to check it out" or "I liked the one song off the single so will buy the whole CD and hope it's actually good." buys as it's all just getting too much money wise. I can afford to, but am just unable to justify it tbh. Especially when I can buy other music I like and get like 6/7 albums or more for the price of like two from VK bands, those two CD's could also be singles that equal 20/30mins of stuff, so why would I pay that when I can get a handful of full length albums for the same price? Just sayin.... haha.

Definitely into this. I did also find it a little weird that they say this is the "1st album" when there is already a full album. But in fairness, the actual 1st album is more like a glorified demo of hotpotch ideas all thrown together, seemed like the album made up of "all Issei's ideas before he actually knew what the next band he was going to form was going to actually do". But am excited to hear this, am even more curious to know what the second disc will contain. Hopefully it'll be the "LIVE LIMITED ONLY COLLECTION". hahaha.
