Zenmarket is top pick for me. 45 day warehouse holding time, 300 yen flat fee (which they occasionally reduce during promotions), and free consolidation. Haven't had much issue with them over the years and they're fairly prompt if you ask questions.

I sometimes use JPN-depot as well, as the charges are similar, but you have to pay for consolidation and they're a bit slower on purchasing things. One plus with them is that they'll buy from certain places like Mercari, which Zenmarket no longer does. Also, JPN-depot doubles as a Japanese address that you can send purchases to, so if you can read enough Japanese (or use Google translate for a checkout process), you can potentially save a fair chunk of change by making an order yourself and having it shipped there rather than paying 300+ yen per item you want.

Living and dying sound equally scary to me sometimes.

I'll be always grateful to vk artists for allowing me to discover the post punk scene while introducing some of their most memorable artists and works.

I have the same opinion of yours, and also feel the same way respect the vk scene nowadays. Original VK (even when it wasn't called that way) imported the same "ethos" of post punk; thus the classics acts still sound fresh and genuine despite having 20 or 30+ years old, and in the other hand, newer acts can only become more and more industrialized, to the point of looking ridiculous when looking for the attention of kogal and young girls obssesed with anime and game characters. So VK as a canal of true artistic expression, with its charge of social inconformism, like post punk was, is pretty much dead.

@SakuraFox512 Dude I just had a mind blown experience listening to Aiolin’s Orpheus 😂
The first few seconds I was like naaaah but then the more he sang the more I agree that his voice is very similar to Mamoru’s 😂  Also the song is matching too. Hmm

@yomii Callie is thankfully still around! She's had some mobility issues ever since (mainly with her back legs), but she's started to get some use back recently. Hopefully things keep improving from here! Thanks for the well wishes.

It's been a while, but thank you all for the kindness. While there were things I wanted to say, my head just sort of stayed a mess for some time, and I couldn't gather my thoughts well enough to write as I wanted. So, even though it's belated, I just wanted to say I appreciated it.

I'm so sorry. I know it's very hard, but stay strong.

Don't be afraid to express and/or release whatever emotions are boiling because of this. Do what you have to to get through this, as long as you're not harming yourself or anyone else. Just remember that whatever you feel at the moment is very valid.

I hope that you recover and feel better as soon as you possibly can.

    Much love.

access to recording equipment and daw's has totally changed the game. i think so much of the 'old indie' sound has credit due to the last era of straightforward recording techniques, before drum triggers, melodyne, and softsynths became the new staples of record production.

it hurts the most when i hear a new band who's got something interesting going on creatively, but its packaged in this gloss of fake drums, self-recorded and surgeon-ed production. atleast the cheap recordings of decades before had an essence of life and passion to them. maybe thats hopeless nostalgia....

As much as I like the current scene, I do think there's been an over-reliance on software synthesizers. When I use the term "over-reliance", I refer to softsynths being used as a crutch instead of an asset. I wish that budget bands embraced more traditional methods than trying to half-ass their way through default plugins (...but that requires talent :V).

Though, I will say that any sound, including this one, is subject to being called "generic" when it's used a lot. Idk, I guess it's just a product of the times.
