  1. You know how there are Dir En Grey bootlegs floating around?

I wonder if there are some pretty crazy and cringey bootlegs out there xD

For some reason, the idea of a fake T shirt with horribly photo shopped pictures of members of Diru, GazettE and An Cafe with "Shamate Muisc Brigade" on it just crossed my mind xD

(Note: Shamate is the Chinese version of VisualKei people)

  2. If there was a VisualKei awards show, we all know which 4 bands would win all the awards.

Yes, I'm salty about the Crunchyroll Anime Awards xD

  3. I'm preparing to one day video me singing and post it here. I'm possibly gonna do "R-18" by GossiP, since I know all the lyrics to that (Usually, I improvise the lyrics XD)
  4. Was Karma drunk during AvelCain's last lives? It seems as if the concerts went on, he got progressively more wasted xD

      nope, just talented .

  5. Was a full PV ever released for GossiP's "Aa, Chuunigakusei", or just a PV spot?

    1. IGM_Oficial

      IGM_Oficial

      Just a PV spot.

  6. Has anyone heard from Inugami Circus Dan recently? Are they still active?

    You're welcome~

Your drawings are simply amazing! They kind of have this old school manga vibe. It's really cool~ The drawing of Haru from Scapegoat is my favourite~
  9. One sound I'd really like to hear in VisualKei again was the thrash-influenced Alternative Metal that started to appear in the late 90's, and was especially done by Dir En Grey during their indies, Gauze and Macabre eras. Really, I'd like to see more thrash metal in Vkei in general, like Aion. There was a short lived Thrash Metal trend in heavier Vkei bands in the late 80's and early 90's, and I feel like with all the Metalcore bands out there, I'd like to see a band expand on the original mixing of Heavy Metal and Hardcore Punk. There definitely have been some Thrashy bands out there though, usually mixing the style with Metalcore, like Deluhi, and to a small extent, Avelcain. (I say small, because really only the riffings were Thrashy. The vocals, while I loved them, weren't the shouting you'd associate with Thrash) I also really missed Ace. They were one of my first Vkei bands, and really gave me a taste for what Vkei was like. I think more bands should have full time members who play unusual instruments. Or at least if the member preforms that instrument, use it in a song live. Like, Takemasa from Kiryu plays Violin (At least I think he does. A lot of the songs he writes use Violin and Cello) and there isn't much stopping him from playing it live in the song Sakuyoi, since both guitar parts are practically the same. Also, I really think there should be more Vkei bands that use traditional instruments. The only ones I know that really use them, and not synthesise them, are Kagrra and CrowXClass, and we all know what happened to Kagrra, whereas CrowXClass, well.. no one really knows. All we know is that their lead singer abandoned them for the over commercialised pop rock band that is Wagakki Band. I used to like Wagakki band when they did vocaloid covers, with an authentic metal twist, but they went generic pop rock pretty quick, and probably don't have the creative freedom they deserve. Also Ikusa sounds suspiciously similar to Masquerade by Heartless, but that's only speculation, and way off topic. I think it would be cool if Kiryu had a special live where they had 3 guys play the Koto, Shinobue, Shakuhachi and Shamisen (Preferably using the former members of CrowXClass xD), but some of their Shamisen parts can get a little too fast, even for Tsugaru style Shamisen players xD. Sukekiyo and Ningen Isu do occasionally use Taishogoto though, but Ningen Isu doesn't use it live, and IDK if Sukekiyo does it live. Also, and this is my last paragraph, I think we should have more Punk rock in VisualKei. So far, it's really only limited to Eroguro and AnguraKei bands, and old school NagoyaKei bands, but it would be nice to see a revival in regular Vkei bands that do Punk Rock. In the 80's and 90's, there were a lot of Punk Rock Vkei bands, like Color, and early GazettE played around with it in the early 2000's, but with the decrease in popularity of EroguroKei, which is mostly based around Punk Rock, and GazettE going mainstream, it's kind of only done by a few bands, the only ones I can name are GossiP, which only do it occasionally (And don't go on about how they're apparently a GazettE clone, or I WILL block you), Inugami Circus Dan, and Sex Android.
  10. That really embarassing moment when you realise you accidentally posted in the wrong section and anxiety just starts going crazy

I understand completely how you're feeling, but it's not a big deal once you've been here as long as I have xD it happens more often than you think, so don't think you did anything bad xD

Just let us mods know when you've made a mistake! It's no problem at all, it happens to everyone.

  11. I finally found a cheap peaked cap (old school cap that military generals used to wear) that wasn't Soviet or Nazi. Soviet Ones generally don't come in black, and my parents will refuse to buy a Nazi one, even if I tell them I will take the swastika off.

I'm going to use it with a Gakuran (Japanese male school uniform that was once a military outfit) for a Vkei look I'm making

  12. Anyone know what happened to that CrowXClass "2nd album" that was supposed to be live distributed, according to an interview, but yet any official source of CrowXClass says there is only one album?

Also, anyone know what really happened to CrowXClass in general? xD

Like, did they ever officially disband? Or did Kurona just forget about them because Wagakki Band?

    1. Zeus

      Zeus

its entirely possible they chose never to release it. its rare but bands do that.

    2. Himeaimichu

      Himeaimichu

Possibly so. CrowXClass always confused me, as it was my first Vkei band, but even as a person who is way more knowledgeable on Vkei than I've ever been, they still confuse me xD

Like, why is their first "Album" barely an EP of 7 songs? Who exactly is Shion? (Everyone says he/she is Kiyoshi Ibukuro, but they don't share many similar features. I suspected he could be Shin Ichikawa.) And why did Kurona just abandon them for Wagakki Band- Wait, no I can answer that. *Coughs* Avex *Coughs* Valuing money over creative freedom *Cough*

  13. Music in general is like a drug, but Psychadelic music is the most potent out of all music. Seriously, songs like Dir En Grey’s “Raison D’etre” or Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid”, or literally any David Bowie song literally make me feel like I’m on some kind of hallucinogen.

Should music even be making me feel this way? I literally put no substances in my body, but yet I feel high from some songs.

Maybe I just need Mental Help... or weed xD

IDK, does Psychadelic music does this to anyone else?

    1. Mamo
    2. Elazmus

      Elazmus

strong recommend do some hallucinogens before making this assessment but lol if you want to ALSO listen to these songs while doing I wouldn't tell you it's a bad time .!

    3. Bear

      Bear

I wouldn't call Black Sabbath psychedelic either, and it's first time I've done so. But when I think about it I don't think calling a track like Planet Caravan psychedelic if far off at all.

But the main reason I mentioned these tracks is because he/she mentioned Black Sabbath to begin with, and if you want something close to psychedelic by Black Sabbath it would be these tracks.

I could actually see Kuroyuri putting a PV like that to good use~
  15. Himeaimichu

It could be a CM Spot for a live DVD
  16. Himeaimichu

The name drew me in because Tsukuyomi is the moon god in Japanese mythology. They seem like an interesting band, I hope to see more of them
  17. Himeaimichu

I think it'd be cool if they did a live PV. Kuroyuri does describe themselves as a "Live Band", and they haven't done a PV in a LONG time. I hope it's full live footage though. Perhaps they may release the full live on a DVD someday.
  18. Oh. Silly me xD. I remember looking all over for their names and I couldn't find it. Please forgive my idiocy
  19. I don't think it's the same interview. This one only has Mei, Kuro and K, the other had Koyomi and Mutsuki
  20. Ok, so a friend of mine are discussing about the extreme animosity between Kyo (Dir En Grey) and Kisaki (Syndrome, Phantasmagoria, Lin) and apparently, Kyo once took a nude photo of Kisaki as revenge. She said she doesn't know if the pic is real, and the person she got it from believed way too many Tanuki rumours and eventually was blocked. We're both now trying to find it again to see if it's real (I'm prepared to possibly see what is supposedly Kisaki's chode xD)

Does anyone know if it's real? If so, why was it taken?

      Licio123

      lmao, what a story

    2. WhirlingBlack

      WhirlingBlack

It's (sadly?) not true. There might be Kisaki nude photos floating around since he was basically at every vk party and most likely fucking around for a very long time, but if so they weren't taken by Kyo. The supposed animosity is just old rumours that have stuck around for a long time but with no substance behind it, from what I gather it's greatly exaggerated and they have a cordial relationship these days.

    3. Himeaimichu

      Himeaimichu

@WhirlingBlackThat's what I was hoping. I mean, I know Kyo is an ass at times, but he's not that big of an ass.

It was a joke. Don't take it too seriously
  22. Himeaimichu

New Kuroyuri album (Hopefully) Kyo, being the eternal teenager he is, gets over his deathcore scene phase and decides to go Emo and tour with AFI. (Ok, not a real prediction, but I felt like making the joke xD) Kiryu releases a few singles, and then another album. Kon (La'Mule and Cell) will probably start another project, since he occasionally still preforms both La'Mule and Cell songs with Nao. New Kisaki project with a bunch of people who are 10-20 years younger than him, but somehow look a little older. Karma and Zen from AvelCain return with another project. Sibilebashir disbands, then reforms on Kuroyuri's label (There have been multiple rumours around about them joining Kuroyuri's label) Yukika snipes another band, puts them on a sublabel Kebyou releases first non-live distributed single Yoshiki decides to do another business venture, and epicly fails A bunch of small Tokyo based Vkei bands that look like Meteroid and Diaura play the stylish wave countdown, and become popular, and we won't stop hearing about them for the rest of the year as labels pick them up. CrowXClass still doesn't return, or even give any clues to whether they've disbanded or not. (The next predictions are just jokes) AKB-48 releases their 666th single, with so many versions, that there aren't enough letters in the alphabet to label them all, so they use IPA letters. But it turns out just to be the same stuff, as usual, because.. well.. it's AKB-48. Some big JPop scandal that honestly is nothing huge, but people gotta complain over anyway, fills all the J-music news sites. AvexTrax will start losing more money, as Nightmare goes on hiatus, and a bunch of other Avex bands will decide to follow Nightmare and do the same. (I mean, have you seen how Avex treats their bands?) And finally, Hide rises from the grave, just to say "Ok, look, the Vkei industry is not the same anymore. There is something that the industry lacks. I think we all know what it is. La'Mule should have never disbanded"
  23. This is probably the most helpful thing I've seen all day~. Thanks so much! I really do wish to get a teacher someday to help me reach my full potential. The way I try to notice my flaws is I record myself and I see what I need to improve on. I also try to research the techniques as much as possible, and learn different techniques that even if I may not use, will still really help me. Like, for example, I learned Tuvan Throat singing because I knew it would help me learn to scream and growl correctly (Also I happened to go through a small phase where I had an interest in Mongolian and Tuvan music xD) I can actually hit the high notes of Saku without falsetto, but I prefer to use it since it makes me sound more feminine, though I can also hit a pretty lavender sounding tone without falsetto, but it involves me singing similar to how Karma from AvelCain sings, and I don't think I should try to sing like him, since I'm not completely sure whether he sings correctly.
  24. It's also worth mentioning unlike Kyo, I haven't had numerous vocal surgeries, growl incorrectly, or had an alcohol and cigarette addiction, so while it's apparently hard for Kyo to hit highs, it's quite easy for me. Though, no live performance ever does Kyo any justice. In the 90's, he sang through his throat, and didn't go into the high range a lot. In the modern era, he holds the mic incorrectly, making him sound derpy, despite now being able to sing properly. Of course, I never had any proper vocal training (Though I'd love to have some) so I don't even know if I'm personally singing correctly. One day, I'll record myself for you all to judge yourselves. It's too late at night right now, but if I remember, I'll do it tomorrow
  25. Yeah. In my opinion, I think anyone of any biology, with enough practice, can hit pretty high notes. I mean, I've seen some people hit quite good high notes on tune, who normally have gruffy, or deep voices. I've heard some pretty sweet sounding vocals come from people you wouldn't expect to hear them from. For example, the lead singer of AFI looks pretty masculine now that he has facial hair, but can still hit those feminine notes in songs such as "Girl's not Grey". Of course, he's not known for having a deep voice though xD. Of course though, Kyo is also not known for having a deep voice either, so high notes are to be expected of him too. I think speaking voice also can tell what kind of range someone has. My speaking ranges from sounding pretty deep, to sounding genderless, to sounding falsetto (I swear it's not because of hormones xD. It's just the way I am xD) and half the time, I'm not even trying xD. The key to hitting high notes in general (no pun intended) is falsetto. I mean, of course you'll sound weird at first, but practice makes perfect. The way I learned to sing high notes was through falsetto. And not only can I hit those notes, but according to my friends, I sound pretty feminine too. (Which is totally what I'm going for xD)
