    Unpopular opinion: Saver Tiger, Mephistopheles, D'erlanger, and Dead End are just as important as, if not more important than X Japan. 
    I mean, Saver Tiger formed before X, didn't they?

      I mean, hide was in Save Tiger before X, so yeah lol.

      And even though record labels didn't throw as much money at D'erlanger or Dead End, they both directly influenced Kurroyume more than X ever did, and Kuroyume was very important in their early years, especially their first album, Nakigara Wo.

      I think Saver Tiger and X were formed around same time in one form or another. There is plenty of material from X of 1982. That's when Saver Tiger started too if I'm correct.

       

      Those bands were important for sure, but I would guess X made a bigger impact back in the day. Simply because they were pretty huge. Although I think visual kei strayed away from the path of X-Japan in the early 90's. X continued with more western sound or whatever, while newer VK bands went different direction. So in a way I agree with you AimiGen.
