So... I tried last.fm, still don't get it, idk why people use it instead of their own player on their own computer.

  [since my music taste is nothing to brag about] i have it because i'm a whore for statistics, and since i continue to use itunes as my music player on my pc despite the switch i made from an iphone to android, there's no way to sync android play counts to itunes (as far as i'm aware) so i decided to use last.fm to keep track of that stuff for me
