I'm actually salty Akinori has to leave but I hope all parties bounce back from this. I don't want to think he's thrown everything away over a little bit of weed. Maybe attitudes haven't changed in Japan as fast as they have in America but if they've even softened a little maybe there's a spot for him in SUGIZO's band anyway. And if not, there are plenty of bands who would love to have a talented bassist. He'll figure something out.

Wow. This is one announcement I never expected to see.  They have like 4 songs, right? Waltz (For Lautréamont) (or whatever the hell the official misspelling is) is awesome.

LIPHLICH new maxi single "VLACK APRIL" will be released in 2017/04.

Good news for old-school Japanese weird synthy new-wave freaks: the cult band Dendö Marionette will have a revival of sorts in 2017. Tono (synth/drums) and Kouji (synth/strings) will be part of the lineup from the original band, plus SHOWY and RALF from JUSTY-NASTY, and Sadie Pink Galaxy (VAMQUET, SPEECIES) as well. The original band released like one 7" record back in 1981.

Phantasmagoria released 26 ~unique~ songs in the span of 6 years, which is an average of 4 and 1/3 songs a year.
 
Keep in mind, they also had 10 or so "albums" 

i feel like Liphlich deserves to be mentioned ITT as well these days, considering the rate at which they've been pumping out releases lately seems pretty high (2 full length albums in 2016 alone, along with singles)

Good morning!I am introducing again (I was very active some years ago but didn't write for a while honestly). because finally I have a chance to come back to Japan for a longer period than last time and to enjoy some visual kei lives, and I want to get updated with new bands.
 
I am a 22 years old girl from Milano, Italy, who is majoring in Japanese at university. My Japanese level for now is a lower intermediate, between a N4 and a N3. I am interested in visual kei and Japanese subculture since I was 12 years old thanks to anime.
 
My favourite visual kei, Jrock and J-metal bands are (well, half of them is disbanded lol, thank goodness there are other awesome bands still around :D) R-shitei, Merry, Kagerou, D'EspairsRay, Dir en grey, Mucc, girugamesh, The GazettE, Vidoll, Ayabie, Dio, Nega, Kiryu, DIAURA, SuG,  An Cafe, MEJIBRAY, lynch., Plastic Tree, Miyavi, Maximum The Hormone, ONE OK ROCK, ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, BUMP OF CHICKEN, the back horn, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, coldrain, Crossfaith... Speaking about western music, I really like nu-metal, grunge and metalcore.
 
For now I have been able to see some visual kei and jrock concerts just in Italy because every time I went to Japan (sadly not that often XD just twice for now) all the lives I was interested were already sold out or I did not have enough time (like it was a last-minute trip because I found a very good plane offer and so on), so I really can't wait for the next time as I am planning to see at least 3-4 concerts of some of these bands I listed here XD
 
I am also really interested in anime and manga, videogames, art and design from Japan. I also enjoy and like to learn about Japanese traditional culture as well but that doesn't stop me to be interested in subcultures as well.
 
I would really like to know some new visual kei and jrock bands who recently formed and you think are good, so try to suggest me some new bands ^^

Hi, I'm just your avarege lurker. Well, maybe a bitter more than average, since I made this account in 2012. I wanted to partecipate a bit even then, but I'm very shy and not confident in my english at all. So I've been thanking people and reading all this time. Yep.
By the way, I'm Lawr, I'm a poor university student who likes visual kei. I enjoy loads of different bands, Malice Mizer, Nega, The Black Swan, Dadaroma, just to name a few. I also listen to some kpop, some pop, rock and metal. I'm not liked to genres, if I like it, I listen to it.
Other than that, I like to read pretty much whatever seems interesting to me, write, practice kanji, watch cat videos and take photos. So yeah, I'm not really an interesting person, but I hope that I can find a way to contribute the forum.

I'm a bit sad that there won't be any new B-sides. Even though I like the new song, it does remind me a bit too much of their old stuff (Souhide Sunset maybe?) and I need some Merry freshness! Hopefully a new album will follow soon enough.

It's been a while since they played at Hibiya, right? Last time I remember was during the PEEP SHOW era and the DVD that came out of it was incredible.

And I'm really happy to see the acoustic version of Happy life included. Def. one of my favorite moments of their concert. Extremely sweet melodies and it works great in a quieter version.
