I don't mind Engrish. I find the awkward use of it in lyrics pretty amusing and world would be a little bit sadder without the google translate tier phrases in songs, lol.
 
I gotta say +1 on edgy face reveals.

One thing that I admire about k-pop, they are open about the members' age. I was pleasantly surprised by how many K-pop dudes are nearly 30. Actually, I can't remember if this is the same with girl groups? Anyway, in Japan it's a crime to be over 18 years old in media/music/etc., which I find creepy and annoying tbh. As if people over 18 can't be charming or cute, can we stop pretending human beings don't age 
 

Edgy face reveals. Unless you're a really popular/established musician making a surprising comeback, there's just no need for it and it kind of defeats the point of VK being a visually striking genre that jumps out at you the moment you see it. It's meant to get your attention and not being able to see the members just completely takes that aspect of it away. I do believe that the music is more important than the visuals but in such a stylised genre, you're taking a huge (and usually stupid/arbitrary) risk by obscuring yourself like that and more often than not, they fail to live up to the high expectations they give to the people waiting to see what they look like with mediocre music. It kind of adds insult to injury, imo.

There was a shift in genre and I’ve noticed most people tend to blend sounds they aren’t emotionally attached to in their minds. 
You might say every BTS song sounds the same while to a fan they all sound completely different. Most 90’s and early bands are totally cookie-cutter to me, it was just a different cookie-cutter. And if you ask me a ton of European epic metal bands sound just like Galneryus xD

Visual Kei was, and pretty much always will be a counterculture movement with a cult following. Things come and go in popularity. That's been the case with Nu Metal, Eurodance, etc.
 
Part of it is the fact that Harajuku culture is dead and J-Fashion is so toned down, and a proper J-Fashion revival is possible, but no matter what, Visual Kei isn't going to be the mainstream phenomenon it barely even was at one point. Its always gonna be a niche movement with niche music tastes. Japanese people and Americans always have, and always will be mainstream taste-wise. Thats the nature of things. No use getting mad about it, because there really is nothing you can really do about it. Just enjoy Visual Kei while it's still a thing. 

I don't think I'd be able to keep up with lineup changes in this band if I were following them.

I can't wait to hear how they sound like. And they have Ivy and that's enough to get my interest.
