that value is for the software + the cardboard kit, actually
the kit will be sold separately, and free for download for those who want itSomehow I have the feeling this will be huge with kids (which is kinda the point of the whole thing). I for one would love to have it when I was 8, 10 or something

Then paint card board you can get from department stores for free then, sorry bro but no two ways about it, this is just a shameless money grab. And Nintendo is just exploiting the huge profit margins you can generate because of the cheap cost of card board. Card board cost $12 per 540 piece bale wholesale and they sell one box's worth thats 1 piece of a 540 piece bale for $70 and $80 that's $40,500 they're making per bale vs $12 they pay for the card board.

Well, everybody is entitled to their opinion. Gaming software is around 60 USD, that's what you are paying for, actually. After you get the game, just go and download the schematics to use with the cardbox you got from the department store. And they will probably also sell just the software in the virtual store, so you won't have to pay for the "overpriced" cardboard. In any case, anything that tries to mix gaming with a bit of imagination and creative activities for the kids is fine in my books, it's not like Nintendo is only releasing software that demands people to tinker with obligatory cardboxes, right?
