I just got my most recent old school vk haul today.
Pins - Ladies Room, Sleep My Dear, and two Tokyo Yankees
Baiser - En Fleur special video box
Aura - Fantastic Aura Show '90 + 8 Clips DVD
With the Aura DVD just being a limited release via Sony's order by demand that were shipped out back in May, I was super happy I hadn't shelled out any money for their major label VHSes yet. This DVD has all three of their tapes Fantastic Aura Show '90, First Vision -Into the Aurand-, and Big-Bang We Love the Earth.
Media Youth - Song For Scar People
La'Mule - 時ノ葬列
La'Mule - Climax
Stella Maria - Un-titled
La'Mule - inspire
Basier - 時ノ葬列
Sleep My Dear - From Inside of Brain
La'Mule - Curse
Everything in this picture is still factory sealed, but I will be opening them as I didn't buy them to just look pretty on my shelf.
Baiser - Heaven
Aliene Ma'riage - La Matinée
La'Mule - Berlin
La'Mule - サイコダイヴ

sakuran got a reaction from Takadanobabaalien in Yukika (Ains) label history (Let's talk labels?)
I guess this is "news," sort of, if anyone finds it interesting... Ains is temporarily suspending payment confirmation and shipping from their web shop. The post doesn't explain why, just says it's due to company circumstances, so I hope it's not something terrible. The outage starts on June 15th and they hope to resume on July 3rd.

sakuran reacted to Igyou_Hime in Insanity Injection Chanteuse CHAOS was Fired
You've got a point, yes, BUT since they said fans informed the band it makes me wonder if it's acctually some minor problem, that the fangirls just got upset over and decided to make it way bigger than it really is (and due to the culture the band might then have felt the best thing to do is to get rid of Chaos since maybe a lot of fans would stop following them otherwise). I mean these kinds of bands are very dependent on their fanbase in Japan... And concidering the thing with Femme Fatale where one of the members got togheter with someone (was it a fan and he was married or some shit like that?), I wouldn't be suprised if this also was some weird shit like that. There's a limit on how much fans can interfere with bands private life and I think in Japan that line is a lot more blurry since they have the culture of always having to keep your face, and the idea of bands etc to always seem available (which is kind of fucked up IMO). I couldn't care less if my favorite bands memeber's cheated or got drunk, it's non of my business as long as they still do a good job when acctually working.

At least one positive thing I can say about these guys is that they finally seem to realize encores are fucking pointless :^)

sakuran got a reaction from Komorebi in [Band Battle] MEJIBRAY vs. DIAURA
What a time to revive this thread.
As much as I adore Mejibray, at this point in time, I easily have to go with Diaura. Their recent output has been far more consistently to my liking than Mejibray's. I hope their hiatus helps breathe some life back into their work.

well as a useless baka gaijin I guess I'd better quit listening to vk and following vk bands and buying vk bands' CDs and merch and just giving a shit about vk at all then, if I can't go to lives ever, even though this is 2017 we're living in and everything gets consumed internationally these days through this magical invention called the Internet

Merry's old fanclub magazine back when they were under Victor, called "季刊メリー" (Kikan Merry).
Showcases lots of live reports, behind the scenes pics, member comments, and even pet showcasings, all of which have been posted on Tumblr at some point~

Basically, a bunch of X Japan stuff.
- Vanishing Vision CD signed by Yoshiki
- Blue Blood LP signed by Yoshiki, Taiji and Toshi. I was lucky to catch Taiji playing in a club in 2010.
- We Are X signed by everyone

lmao you're literally sitting here implying people's opinions aren't credible because they aren't ~part of the scene~ and you don't seem to understand why they're getting salty with you?
Here's the thing YOU seem confused about. You seem to be confusing "your consumption and interaction with the band are financially irrelevant" to "your opinion is irrelevant and no one should care about it." Let's, for a moment, humor whoever it was in this thread who said vk is "art." Here's the thing about art - once it's produced and released into the world, in whatever form it may be in, it's out of the artists' hands, and it becomes a matter of opinion and interpretation for whoever is consuming it in whatever manner they see fit. You don't get to sit here and tell people the ~correct~ way to consume it (i.e. attending lives in Japan) and you don't get to sit here and tell them their opinions are invalid because they're not consuming it in the way it was "intended" or in the way that is most financially profitable for the band. If Miley Cyrus owns literally thousands of hip hop CDs then I imagine she has her reasons for having her opinions, and while obviously no one is obligated to take her opinion seriously, that doesn't mean it's baseless. In fact, let's rework that last sentence in the context of this thread and see what happens:
"It's kind of like [a foreign visual kei fan] wanting people to care about her opinion on [visual kei]. She's free to do so, but nobody's going to giving it much weight, irrelevant of how much she may or may not be a fan of [visual kei], how many CDs she owns, etc. because it's not based on anything credible."

All of the stuff I own that's signed were all second hand buys because most of the bands/musicians I like are disbanded, are retired, or are dead. Also, I'm too cheap to take a trip to Japan to stalk go to shows of the musicians I do like that are still active. It actually might be a good thing, now that I think about it. XD
But I have the following autographs:
Color - 4/5 of the band, Toshi is the only one that didn't sign the board I bought. From what the seller told me, Toshi was sick the day that the autograph session happened. Marry's signature says "Sex For You" as it was his slogan at the time to female fans and Cindy's says "Sexy Girl".
Kamaitachi - I did get some live show/backstage pictures with this autograph. My avatar is the Kazzy picture that came with it.
Genkaku Allergy
Ladies Room - My favorite part of this autograph is that George's signature says "Suck My Dick". How cute.
Octopus Cult - They're probably not a VK band, but all of the members were from VK bands. (Sceana - Kamaitachi, Genkaku Allergy; Naoki - Decameron; Take - Decameron; Yayoi - Seamonkey) Yes, I have a lot of Sceana signed items.
test-No. (the original line-up) - Not VK, but Ryo and Den have a history with the VK scene.
Mejibray - Both were posters that came with CDs I bought.

sakuran reacted to haido in [Band Battle] MEJIBRAY vs. DIAURA
So hard to compare these two, because their concepts are so different. I used to like them both... But I must admit that DIAURA is better in my opinion.
MEJIBRAY had an unique idea to presents their music and "visualistics" for their outfits & live shows, they showed some very unique style and each member had their own way to present themselves --- their outfits didn't match and that was one of the points. Their music was very energetic (as were their live shows too!) and their style varied a lot. It was clear that they had a certain "raw" or "wild" style they preferred and it really worked. After Nepenthes (or during last 2 years) though they seemed to only repeat their themes and tried to search something new to get inspiration --- leading them to lost their concept. Their visual style and music some what lost their basics.
DIAURA used to be in search of themselves for first, but after re-releasing "Shitsuyoku no seiiki" they really seemed to know who and what they are. They have their own unique theme "dictatorial aura" that usually is about military-ish themed things. Of course they occasionally try something different (like the soft gentle ballad "Gekkou" etc.) but still they know and continue on their way steadily and still are able to bring new dimensions for VK genre/their own music.
