Anyway, interested to see what everyone here likes for visual music!   Also, feel free to post your favorite albums by your favorite bands if you wish. I didn't, except with the nod to Pierrot, because I like basically everything they put out.

I think the band's logo doesn't match the aesthetics of the band, but the concept seems very interesting so I don't care about the logo much.

Just to address this quickly, but the shipping that we almost always use for our international customers IS the cheapest available... it's just standard US post. As of maybe 3-4 years ago, tracking became free and included on all packages sent via USPS. Unfortunately it really is just that expensive to ship from the US
 
   
We've been working on things in the background, so there's a lot that's not apparent at the moment. Panda has been working to completely redo the RarezHut webshop as we are both not very happy with how it currently is... this is why there hasn't been any store updates in a while. Until the new store is up, we've been focusing mostly on the streams since it seemed like the best way to sell our new inventory in the meantime. Once the new site is up, the inventory will be split between what goes on the stream and what goes directly on the site. We're also looking into other ways that we can improve our streams(they're still a work in progress, after all) and any suggestions there are very appreciated

Whats funny here is that i think the OP made this in hopes that the obvious lesser choice would be the one that would reign supreme in polls/results. I'm hollering right now. I needed this.
 
RES without a doubt. But i'm not gonna snub Lycaon of props though. Their last album was great, and they have some random songs here and there that are cool too. Only thing is that, they aren't a band that i will go listen to unless i remember to or am bored. There's also the issue of them just straight plagiarizing some other bands material as well. Like...straight rip offs.

Getting caught for tax evasion, selling faked "rare" demo tapes of your first bands to sell online for money, and fabricating stories about your hospitalization complete with pictures ripped off of Google are not what I would call "small things". Those are what I would call big things, and I could remember those three things off the top of my head. Kisaki has a knack for drawing lots of attention to himself, mostly negative. I'm pretty sure he's an attention succubus and thrives on it to keep himself going.

well there aren't that many animes that go as far as guro standards are concerned, but there are some good psychological, dark and disturbing animes series out there.

Hi there, i'm from Chile and love music globally with passion.
 
There are a lot of bands from japan i love (my favourite band of all times is luna sea), and love the older (proto?) vk bands (die in cries, zi:kill, etc.) and not so old vk bands (mist of rouge, kalimero, plastic tree, etc.).
 
I run a small tumblr called "Arbaro Sonoj" which reviews and uploads old school visual releases (it's in spanish, but still you can check it out here: arbarosonoj.tumblr.com), and I hope to run into fellow old vk lovers to share thoughts and music. As far as I understand it, in terms of the current style of bangya culture, is that it's not new but it certainly hasn't been going on forever. Visual Kei has gone through a lot of changes and while there's always been parts of the scene more affected by this than others, it's much more prevalent now than it was 15 years ago, according to people I've spoken to. Just like the commercialisation of the genre have reached new heights due to the safety of this economic system that have developed between the two. Talentless hacks would not have lasted like they do today.
Would be interesting to research deeper into the connections there.

My main issue with the visual kei scene isn't really represented in the options here, and it's something you generally get more in touch with once you get to Japan and get to experience the scene.
Firstly, the fact that a large majority of visual kei musicians more or less openly admits they don't have any artistic or personal integrity, they don't care what they produce and they don't care that their sound is exactly like every other band out there, because they know that as long as the members are pretty enough there WILL be fans, and they WILL pay you money for "company" and "favors" so that you can survive comfortably and keep rehashing the same song for a couple of years until you feel like calling it quits and do something more worthwhile with your life, or more likely, go into full time hosting business now that you have a decent circle of clients already.
 
This sort of leads me into my second issue and it's the bangya culture. It's generally really vile, and the way the girls not only talk about the musicians but also each other is quite disgusting. If the bangyas decide that a member has done something they do not approve of, that doesn't live up to their perfect ideals that they hold them all to (because god knows the fangirls don't live up to any of them) they can easily start enough shit to cause a band to break up or force a member out of the band. The issues doesn't end there though, because the few foreign bangya that exists generally adapt to this mentality and lifestyle too. They openly shun other foreigners who dare attend the lives of "their" band and ruin their "specialness", they participate in this completely daft saizen system where a designated person basically decides who gets what spot at a concert so everyone can enjoy playing ten year olds doing the "you're not allowed to play with us"-games... And the obviousness of what really drives people to be fans of these bands become so apparent when they get to this level, and it's certainly not the music.
 
To be honest, in a lot of ways I never realized how bad this was until I got there and could see it all for myself, and that's despite a 13 year stint in the scene by now.

This seems to have the Baka Aho Manuke Banzai lyrics printed on it. I don't know why part of it is marked out like that. Also, (a) I don't have a scanner, and ( it's laminated, so unfortunately this is the best I can do (without getting out my real camera, but I don't know how much that will help).

The Secilia Luna style is real but they're pulling it off. The hype is real for the new album!
