To me, Akane's bands always sounded sorrowful, even the happy songs, and their sad ones like IDEA, The Virtues, a meaningless existence and December 24 are packed with some heart-wrenching lyrics and instrumentals. I guess I'm a sucker for gloomy stuff

so the first digits say about the not as much about NEW versions as a number of times the song released at the moment.
yes, for some songs each release provided new versions but not for all of them.
for example:
S.K.P(2.0.3) - para:noir's mini-album ver, upcoming new version - SECOND ver.
BLEADEAR(3.0.3) - para:noir's mini-album ver., d.i.d. album ver. (new version), upcoming version - THIRD ver.
identity(3.0.3) - para:noir's single, para:noir's album (the same single version as i can hear), upcoming version, nevertheless, THIRD ver.
e.t.c.
-BITE the BULLET-(3.0.3) goes with digit 3 because originally they released the song as live-limited single before the album release.
last digit 3 may say about anything. I think it has much more ... inward meaning than the first digit has. Maybe this indicates a new band's (or akane's) phase of life: 1) para:noir, 2) d.i.d. before his hospitalization, 3) d.i.d. after his hozpitalozation. As I can understand according to him he rethought many things in his life and maybe it is necessary for him to represent his old songs to the band's fans... I don't know.

This is interesting!", but this kind of acoustic trippyness is really unique to them, and D.I.D./para:noir make use of them somewhat frequently, in songs like Amaoto, the Libra, W.O.D. II, if you wanna die...

I can't think of many examples, but since the para:noir days, I thought Akane or one his band mates were into In Flames, Fear Factory and or Cynic.

As you all know the Judgement Day is approaching, the day when D.I.D. will truly return. We've awaited it for quite some time now, this single is only but the messenger warning us of the impending storm of godly sound that is Akane and his disciples.
 
 
W.O.D. II

An interesting sequel to the ever so amazing and timeless D.I.D. original W.O.D., this second version retains all the same lyrics, but a different tune. I love its many tempo changes and the metalcore. Akane's growls are on point as usual aswell as his clean vocals, Tekede's drumming continues to slay especially the bass drum, as for Tohma he's gotten even better even though I never knew he could get more godly. As his skills were far amazing before, aswell as Aizawa. His Bass playing is solid and gritty i just love it! The guitar solo is fucking hectic, I can tell it took alot of work. (It even tops atheism's amazing solo.) I cant wait to see the music video for this track.

The moment I've long awaited for.....has finally arrived at last it's here, the beauty that is difficult to bring to words. It is honestly love to the ears, for a song to be this well composed it's almost unreal. Akane's sweet voice returns, his alluring tone and demonic growls are present aswell as the flawless guitar work, the drumming is back with vengeance along with the bass. Oh god the chorus send's chills up my spine, those violins in the background just fill the tone ever so perfectly, this song is so symphonic, so tear inducing. D.I.D. is coming back, as they've come a long way and there is no turning back for them, only the progression forward.

imo his screams/growls are pretty good, they sound really "abrasive" (that's the only word I could use to describe it, lol)

I don't see how it makes sense to accuse someone who was recently under care for a serious disorder which ruins lives slacking for not rushing out a single for five people to buy and everyone else to download. I don't believe musicians are slaves giving their health away for the amusement of a moderate fanbase.
Despite that they have a healthy live schedule, still entertaining their fans, and what has been released is certainly understandable as it takes much less work then putting together and releasing something up to par with their two last singles.
They also do not have a solidified record label anymore. DC still lists them in some cases, although they have not been officially working with them and there is no info that I have seen on what label / manager they will be working with on their next official release. People might criticize DC, but it is a lose-lose for them, as they either have to seperate from a group they put a lot into, or continue supporting D.I.D. and taking the burden and blame for any health issues he may again come across, as thy would take responsibility for making and or allowing him to continue the busy stressful life of a musician.
Also, besides production and release issues (they can't produce or distribute the same quality as their previous releases by themselves), thy either still have Pablo from PTP on board, and want this to be a big release to not only make their comeback but use his popularity to push off of, or they don't have him on board and need to re-do the composition and figure out how to create a worthwhile sound without the same band set-up and minus a major contributor to their song writing.
Just my two cents.
