Has anyone given "AVANTGARDE" a good listen yet? I've listened through it maybe 5 or 6 times, but it's not really sticking with me. There are many tracks I enjoy like "Pledge" and "Phantom",  but as a whole I feel like there's something missing.

I liked the majority of the record first listen.  Evidence hooked me from the first notes, and Pledge, Unelma, Phantom, and the Outrage Sexuality are consistent favorites at each listen.

 

As expected - there is no real progression of the band or music, but it still hots hard and is enjoyable to listen to.

im loving the album a lot so far, it has a transient quality that most lynch records have--but i dont mind. i find the song structures have gotten more adventurous compared to dark, which had a greater overall experimental feel

pretty much everyone's critiques are valid, its 95% the same lynch from dark.

there's a certain correlation between this album's satisfying replayability and number of tracks kicked the fuck away from it in the playlist.

yep, plus the tweet directly before was him acknowledging a little easter egg in the lower corner of the lyrics booklet (there's the paint splatter as per the cover and in the paint it says "L/N", as in replace the L with N). i actually didn't notice the L/N note until he retweeted the fan who mentioned they saw it

 

oh, and lastly in his song explanations on twitter prior to release he said that KILLING CULT wasn't the real title and a hint was in the lyrics booklet! somewhere
