  1. Saw Spider-Man: Homecoming today and hell it was funny and cool as fuck, loved it. Had a few issues with the successions of some events which seemed like "ugh, okay", but putting that aside it really is a great movie and I recommend everyone to go see it if afford it you can.

  2. I think Diavolos is a killer track, and FREEDOM sounds good tbh although I prefer the previous released song. Featuring Rou Reynolds was definitely a nice idea though. Now I'm just gonna pray that the next release is a full fucking album, it's time now.

  3. Watched Beauty and the Beast yesterday and I really regret not going to watch it at te movies when I had to opportunity to do so, because I loved it. Rediscovering that Disney classic was really great (and the additional background story of Belle's and Beast's childhood was a good choice, it gave more depth to the characters which is nice).

  4. I had no interest in going to see War for the Planet of the Apes at the movies but I somehow had to and it was okay, but there are some sections that made me yawn like never before watching a movie. The CGI and all is cool and spectacular but I can't hide the fact that at some point I felt like watching a movie about evolution, and during that moment it looked so ridiculous lol.

    girugamesh - 2012

A friend was suggesting music to put in for our crew combo video (Smash Bros) and giving them a listen, it took me a minute but after listening to more songs, they became a timeless favorite.

    Hey, friend!

Also got into vk thanks to them (although bands like tG, Alice Nine and artists such as Gackt helped a lot). Was mainly fond of their vk era, at some point they had the coolest yet simplest looks ever.

  6. I went to see Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales yesterday, and it was a good film. (I'm just gonna copy past my rant on twitter about it) I definitely don't get the hate though. I mean it maybe does lack of originality and seems a bit soulless but definitely isn't a bad movie. Rather a pretty enjoyable one. And to be fair, I find PotC to be a really thrilling saga. Not necessarily for the movies themselves, but rather for the universe's depth. They don't have to make transcendental movies but its universe will always seem interesting and worth exploring. It's like SW, Harry Potter, LOTR or any other saga that offers you countless possibilites of exploring its universe. You can actually make lots of things out of it. Obviously as long as it stays into the topic around which the saga evolves. In my opinion, what PotC really needs is something similar to Rogue One. Something different yet that still maintains a link with the original saga. In other words, I'd sign up for a PotC spin-off. Anytime of the day.

Other than that, the post-credit scene left me wondering what the producers think they're doing. I mean, what the fuck?! I'm really wondering what are they gonna make out of that in the next films knowing what happened in the previous ones.

    Spoiler

Other points that held my attention: how the fuck does Elizabeth still look so fine after so many years? As far as I know, I don't think that botox existed at the time. If they managed to rejuvenate Jack Sparrow they could have as well tried to add some wrinkles to Swann's face. But anyway.

Also, the sacrifice of Barbossa was pointless yet I get why it was necessary. I get that, but I'm gonna miss him.

I think you should give all the bands/albums I posted a fair chance. It's quality stuff. At least if you like thrash mixed with other genres.

The rest of the non-mentioned albums are on my list, so I'm gonna end up checking 'em out real soon!

It's really a pity that I can't find a way to stream Droid's album though, nor find a download link. Because it seems like a real solid release... Guess I'm gonna have to wait -or eventually buy it, lol.

Anyway, Condor was really good. Checking out Destructor next!

  8. I need to spin it more, I found it to be a very interesting album and it definitely needs you to take your time with it. I totally disregarded that disc 2 though, lmfao.

  9. Yeah this year has been really meh, Terrifier and Extravasion will definitely get a spot in my end-year list, as things stand by now.

Checking out the new Condor album as we speak, and still curious about Droid and Municipal Waste. Also need to give both Vampire and Craven Idol a second chance, couldn't dig them during my first listening session.

  10. Could anyone suggest me some historical movies? Watched The Ballad of Narayama a few years ago and I loved the hell out of it, same for Letters from Iwo Jima. Like I said on the other films' thread I'm about to watch Silence, but I don't know any other movies about Japan's history that I could watch.

  11. Just finished reading Silence by Shusaku Endo and maaan it was so good. I thought it was a bit slow at first in the build up but then it got better and better. I'm a sucker for any historical books and films about Japan and this one didn't disappoint! I'm gonna watch the 1971 film and the new one afterwards.

No idea what to read next though

Hell fucking yes! This album is so good. It's got its fair shair of Summoning influence, but it has more of a medieval sound to it, making it stand out from other epic black metal bands in this vein. Totally recommended if you're into Summoning, Kinstrife & Blood, Caladan Brood and so on.

    I second this!

The Lay of Númenorë is easily one of the most epic songs I've ever listened to in the genre, it doesn't get better than that. Really is the highlight of the album imo. And I agree about the medieval sound the album has, which indeed allows the band to produce something somewhat unique and refreshing. Definitely a great release!

Anyone familiar with Au-Dessus? Just discovered these guys and really digging their stuff so far, their first album is available for free on Bandcamp! Sounds like a mix between Sludge and Black Metal with surprisingly strong vocals, intense stuff.

Yep! Their new album is so great, I'm giving it time to let it grow on me but it is a clear AotY contender. Was a pleasant surprise knowing that their self-titled debut didn't manage to hit me like End of Chapter did. Wouldn't be surprised to see it making it lots of end-year lists.

  14. I've been catching up on movies I couldn't watch in 2016 (there were so many of them anyway, so yeah lol), and this is what I've watched so far:

Watched the second X-Men trilogy and holy shit, that was great! I didn't expect them to be so solid and hell they are. My favorite is probably the second one, but the two others aren't far behind. That said though, my favorite character has got to be Quicksilver, he literally made the films better (the man deserves his own movie, like, really). I'm stoked for more!

I was skeptical about Rogue One, since SW7 was good but didn't make me feel anything. This one started really dull, a little boring at times, but then things kept getting better and thank fuck because I would have been sooo pissed off otherwise. One thing that I loved are the fucking landscapes, so damn beautiful. The second half of the film was worth it, thought it was really good and the connexion it made with A New Hope was sweet. I liked this one.

And one of my favorite Marvel movies might probably be Doctor Strange, it was so good! This one must have been THE one to watch at the movies. It was really fun and spectacular, and that CGI was nuts. Crazy stuff.
